OK, any ideas on this? I have a 1990 1.8 16v. Bought this in the UK last week and it doesn't fit. The plastic clips don't line up. What's the best way to fix it in place?

I do apologise for my spelling. It is truly dreedful. :)

Hi all, Just thought I'd share this with you all. We recemtly had a photoshoot with NZ Classic car magazine (yes the Corrado is now a recognised classic). These were taken a couple of weeks back. Magazine due out in the next week I believe. Mine is the standard looking white one. Enjoy.

Not sure. Can anyone give me some advice on this please? Thinking something a bit low profile as don't like too bigger tyres? Thoughts? :)

Wow! Hope I haven't opened up a can of worms on this one! OK, this is what I am looking at doing. I'm thinking about buying these: AEZ AP72 17x7.5 4x100 PCD 35P OFFSET From what I have read so far these will fit. They are the same wheels that G60Dan has on his. My car still has standard ride height at the moment. How far down should I drop it? I'm not looking at trying to end up with a 'bad boy' car, just want it to look plush. Thanks Ian

What's the best thing to do first? Lower the car then get the wheels or the other way round??? Confused! Thanks Ian

Great, thanks! Ian

I have a 1990 1.8 16v with standard Sebring wheels. Question is: anyone know what offset these are? Thanks
-
Is this the same blue used on the late MK2 / early MK3 Golfs? I use to own a 1992 Mk3 Golf GTI in two tone blue. Was also on the driver edition and hit the J-K plate in the UK. I'm trying hard to find the pic, once I have it i'll post it. Never saw another like it and still miss her to this day. :(

Just read this post. All I have to say is I feel sad for the people who live here. This country has been flushed down the loo, and is out floating away in the Atlantic now. The 'Great' has finally been lost in Britain. Well done Mr Blair, we all thought Maggie screwed things up, but you've taken it to the next level and beyond. :(

Superb idea! I'll PM you now...

Oh, cheap as! (as they say in NZ!) I'm in the UK at the moment - seeing family. Am back in NZ at the end of the month so will find out if the wheels are a go-er. If they are i'll be in touch to let you know! Thanks (again) for your help Ian

Thanks very much. What sort of cost are we talking and is postage possible to NZ? Thanks again. Ian

Thanks for your help on this one chaps. I'm going to have a look and check the diameter to make sure they fit OK.

Hi all, Will these rims fit my C? She's a 1990 1.8 16v, 4 x 100. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... 025004.htm What is 35mm offset? Also, can anyone recommend any good tyres? Thanks

This is quite amazing. I'd love to see some videos of it moving! (I think we all would.) Well done, give that man a hand.

Ha! Well if we're starting to get all competitve about things there is a garage not far from where I live which sells to the public racing fuel (100+ octane) That mixed with a bottle of Nulon and your away! As far as cold air goes, I can't do much about that, unless I bolt a fridge to the air intake! Am planning on a new air intake modification in the future. However all my budget for the car has gone, just become a home owner. Oh Sainsburys...

Hi carpoid, I've heard about the weather over there - just been watching Sky news tonight and heard all about the bush fires in Victoria and SA. Adelaide is over 40c at the moment! Sun here is very strong - doesn't do much for the paint! My rubber trim along the top of the drivers door has slightly melted too!

Phil - yes the ANZ tower is still here! I can see it on my deck in my back garden. There is a lot of development here at the moment, building work going on everywhere. We've got the Rugby World Cup in 2011 which is going to be awesome. Now's the time to be in Auckland. Moving wise, it took me about 18 months to go through all the paper work, medicals, checks to the time I actually got here. Moved out Sept 2003, so been here 2 1/2 years now. Loving it, there is a lot of space and the people are terrific. Good natured and you can go out at night and don't have to put up with the yobbo culture which use to put me off in the UK. Cost - My partner and I saved up nearly £30k over two years. Saved on salary, lived with parents and kept everything to a minimum. Once we had the money, about 18k went on our wedding, honeymoon and flights, leaving us with about 10k. It then cost about £2500 to ship everything out (including insurance which is the biggest cost), and about £3000 in fees for immigration (we used a company which is why the cost is alot higher). The money left equalled to about NZ$10000 which was enough for us to live on. I starting freelancing, then went full time and was granted residency. Did this for a year before starting my own company which is what I do now. Just one year left to wait and I can apply for a kiwi passport. And the funny thing? I have to swear my alliance to the queen at a ceremony - something I never did at birth! Overall well worth the move. My wife and I have never looked back. Great place to live, brilliant people, peace and quiet and as far away from George Bush as you can get :) Cheers Ian By the way - Being here is not a 'lucky' thing which people have a habit of saying your soo lucky living there. I worked skin to bone for 2 years to save and do it becuase I was determined. Anyone who has the same dream can also do it, it's all about how much you want it, not how lucky one is.

Just thought I'd share with you all what our weather is like here at the moment! Miltek running superb. New K&N air filter and headlight looms fitted. New alloys in the pipeline...enjoy.

One more pint - what sort of fuel are you putting in? I an get 98 here, which she runs on. There is also a cheeky little garage out west which sells racing fuel (100+ octane)! Very illegal to just stick it straight in your car. Some mates have been filling a jerry can of it, parking around the block and filling it there. I've heard it's good for a clear out - think of being 'backed up' for days and eating chillis and you get the picture!

I tend to get a few strange looks from fellow kiwi's over here. Most have never seen a Corrado, and will stare and point at it and say 'what's that'? I could remove the VW badges to really confuse people, but that would be mean! It is nice driving a car here, which you very rarely see another one. Having said that, there are two for sale on trademe at the moment. One is a 16v like mine, the other one of only 2 (yes 2) VR6's. That would make it a rare buy as there are hardly any in the southern hemisphere. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... 569696.htm http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... 550147.htm My friend who works for VW tells me VW chose not to sell them in Australia, making your car a very rare car indeed.

Super! Are the first few shots North Head by Manly? I use to go there on my days off and read, it's a great quiet spot! What do the aussies make of the RADO? Have they figured it out it's a VeeDub? Most people here in NZ have never seen one. I'll go in to PartMaster or Repco for part or something and when they ask what car it is i'll say a Corrado. They always pretend they know what it is, so that start looking in the Jap section!

And one more...
