Well Bally, I have to say I think your car looks great on those rims! If anyone does have just the rims I would be very inetersted. The question us 16 or 17"? I have a friend who has 5 stud 17" on her golf 3 and they look great. They rub with 4 people in the car though, so will this be a problem? Once we've worked out 16/17 then I'd be happy to look at what cost would be. Thanks

Oh, also took the midget out a while back - she's now my wife and work's happily away at home! :)

Had the engine mounts replaced 3 weeks ago. The noise is no different when cornering either. What's the ARB? This is puzzling me this one!

Firstly: Can I get a set of 17" BBS RC 4x100 for my 1990 1.816v anymore? Secondly: How can I get them to NZ!? Thanks

Help! I'm getting a random knocking noise coming from somewhere up front. She's had the CV joint done, checked and it's OK. Strut mounts are fine. Gearbox has been taken off, stripped and is fine. Any ideas? The knocking noise is random, happens in all gears, neutral. Only when the car is moving. I did take the front right wheel off to clean and noticed oil from the CV joint coming out. Will it be this? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for this chaps. She is still in the garage at the moment having a knocking noise sorted out. They thought it was the gearbox so they took it off, stripped it down and hey! can't find anything wrong. It's coming from the front right. They did replace the CV joint, but it seems to be OK. Any ideas? Struts mounts are fine too.

This has to be the funiest thread I have seen on here! :D

Hi I have a standard 1.8 16v KR engine in my 90 Corrado. Want to know how I can squuze more out of it. Spark plugs, leads, filters, I don't know! Ideas? I'm sure it's been done so many times before! Thanks
-
Not too bad, a tad expensive though. There's a VW specialist garage that it goes to: http://www.qualitat.co.nz That's where she is at the moment getting fixed, got a knocking noise but not sure where it's coming from. Apart from that it's Ebay! I'm going back to the UK for 2 weeks in Feb, am taking an extra BIG suitcase to take bits back with me!

Hi carpoid, Sounds like a dream being able to take your Corrado over to AUS. I bet we all can't wait to see the shots of her against the opera house, Manly, Bondi, the harbour bridge. Good man. Take her up George Street on a Friday night and take some shots there too. There are tons of skylines and the usual Jap suspects over there, but no C's. Myself? I left the UK for good just over two years ago. I now live in Auckland and am one of a very lucky few to own an NZ New Corrado over here. We have a VW club called VASK (http://www.vask.org.nz) here which we are all meeting up for a mega drive Sunday. There won't be many Corrado's, infact there'll be just one. My friend has a red 16v. Mines in the garage getting fixed. Having siad that the numbers will be made up of Golf's, Jetta's and Audi's. Should be fun. Will take the camera and put a post up so you can all see. The weather here now is awesome, blue skies and 20c. Good luck in AUS. You'll love it.

Great looking Corrado mate, certainly one which I'd like to model mine on! Damm good wheels, i think it's a toss up between these and the Porsche Cup ones I have seen on the site. :D -
Bad news yesterday - started hearing a knocking noise coming from the front. Thought it may be a CV joint issue, turns out to be gear box. Oh well there goes my Christmas :(

There's a good chance that could have been me! There are a small handful in Auckland, but the only other white one I know of is in Taupo. We have a small VW community here on a site called VASK. http://www.vask.org.nz Once you log in you get access to all the info on shows, pics, etc. We're off on a mega drive a week Sunday. They'll be a convoy of VW's (mostly watercooled) off to the Coromandel for the day. I'll take some pictures of it to post on the site.

Hi there, Great looking Corrado, good to see other members outside of Europe. What wheels are those you have? Thanks
-
She also has 157 km's on the clock and a full service VAG history...
-
Nope, she's NZ new. They cost over $60k new, so they never sold! All the RADO's here which are NZ new don' have side indicators - must be an NZ law thing. There have been some imports, but they are currently banned here because thye fail the crash test. We have to wait till 2015 to be able to import a '95 vr6 for example. (20 year wait, then it becomes a classic)

She does have a little rust on her, but nothing too much to worry about at the moment. I've spent enough on her for this year. - Serviced - new radiator - engine mounts - Alpine head unit with Alpine iPod connector - Inifnity Kappa's up front (does'nt sound great at the moment) - rear drivers wheel fixed after it was found to be warped! Next year planning - re-spray (white or blue I can't decide) - BBS RC's - lowering kit - engine mods - exhaust - sub for boot Like a lot of things they take time! It'll be a slow process - have to get things pass the wife! Or it costs double (I spend $2000 and she'll have to spend the same!)

here's a few more pics from yesterday's VW show in Auckland. Good turn out. Had 2 Corrado's!

Hi there, Just thought I'd post a pic of my Corrado. One of thirteen to be NZ new. Enjoy. (Notice no side indicators) Ian

Thanks for your help on this one. Have been busy but am going to tackle it this weekend. I have the original door pods in the car, but one of the grills is missing. Any idea where I can get one from? I only have the plastic bit which pops out and that has a crack. I'm guessing some heavy handed punter tried to give it a go once upon a time and didn't get far. Thanks

Hi there, Just treated myself today to a new stereo for the girl. Bought this: Inifnity Kappa 50.5 for the doors Alpine CGA 9851 new head unit Alpine 420i iPod Am about to start with the speakers first. I have a 1990 1.8 16v. What's the best way to mount the speakers in the doors? Do I have to take the door cards off and mount them from behind? There are no speakers in there at the moment. I'll need to wire up through the door and put the tweaters in the dash, is this an easy job to do? Finally i need to find a good place to hide the iPod unit - any good ideas on this? Thanks Ian

Speaker grills for Inifity's. Anyone got an ideas?
pacificshack replied to pacificshack's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
Thanks for this. The grills that are there have clips that can be bent. Do I bend these around the mountings? The plastic mountings that were in there did not fit to outer metal frame that the speaker is attached too. IS this normal? Cheers -
Hi there, I manged to get hold of some 6x4 Infinity speakers for the rear in my Corrado yesterday. They sound soooo much better! Would I be right in thinking they don't need securing down with screws? Mine just dropped in after taking out the old ones and the plastics adaptor that was there. The grills just literally dropped on top of them. What's the best way of securing these down. Anyone got an ideas? Cheers Ian

Are they any good? Or are the audioscope ones better? http://www.mainstreet-audio.com/custom/ ... panels.htm
