  1. Not only down the side, but also if you put two really fat stripes over the top - proper fast!
  2. So could I put both sets of rear wires into each connection on one woofer? I'm pretty poor on car audio- obviously! Just lookin 4 cheap method.
  3. As the title says, can I put my old bassy ported hifi speakers into the c, powered by the rear speaker cables? I intend to remove the tweeters and just use the woofers from ex hifi speakers?
  4. The C got a heated windscreen scraper from 'secret santa'. Nice idea but it's kept in the garage. Good gift?
  5. Adam, Could you also mail it to me? Mail address PM'd Tim
  6. Nudge the stick forwards just briefly, as you do to turn them on.
  7. Cheers for the advice (kev, sam). So we're saying that if this auxilliary belt breaks then it's not gonna cause me huge amounts of damage as long as I watch the temp(I have no acon)?. The only time i've had any probs with the pas is when the car cuts out(different story) , but it only does this when I drive to max mpg like a grandad in 5th then corner in 3rd - I think the car is making a point -'I'm a V6 coupe -don't drive me like a maestro!' I've read the recent threads on timing chains which gave differing opinions - some said no worries, some said get it checked out. I took the poor mans (husbands  ) option of ignoring it... Yeah Kev, i'm trying to force her to like it - she thinks it's a money pit even though it's not losing value (apart from the dents from the punks with bricks)and it picks her up from work every night! I back this up with the fact that she can't drive and that her (my ex) car is losing £80 a month in value sat in the garage. Use this - it works!
  8. Have recently bought a VR6 (march) and it runs like a beauty (have beaten an Audi TT 3.2 nutter off the lights), apart from having to replace the radiator. I took it to the local specialist and asked for a full service and general quality report. Seems like the car is sound, but the report mentioned a worn 'auxilliary belt'. Now I know the VR6 runs with a timing chain, so what belt might they be talking about? There's no evidence in the FSH of any repairs to belts or chains, and it's done almost 140k. Should I be worried about this? If this belt is worn, may there be problems with the timing chain? Is the engine gonna explode on me? I should mention that the wife  hates the car, so i'm looking at minimum expenditure...
  9. The radiator really is knackered - not worth having it repaired. It does need replacing ASAP so I don't have the time to fit one myself. I've booked it in with Swifts performance car specialists in sheffield. They're gonna give me a quote tomorrow. I'll let you know the outcome... Quick question - the coolant is flooding out of the system pretty quickly. Will I be ok to top it up and drive it a couple of miles down the road, as long as the oil temp stays reasonable (under 110)? I don't want to do unneccesary damage to the engine.
  10. FYI stormin dave, mine's similar. Will shut 1.5 windows, eg if one is open then no probs but if both are open then passenger side shuts and driver side half shuts. Holding the key in lock position does nothin but lock the doors - guess it depends who fitted the alarm? I'll get it sorted when i've saved up after replacing the rad (immediate-popped today) and the sunroof (will tilt but struggles to slide - long story!).

    Clour code???

Yeah well as a new owner, I have a shameful lack of knowledge, so when I can help...

    Clour code???

Oh, and this may be useful to you...

    Clour code???

Further to this, car docs - the colour code will be on the inside front page of your service book. Should be a four digit code. ie mine's moonlight blue and the code is LC5M. It's mixed amongst many other numbers but if you ring the dealers with your service book in hand, they should help you out.
  14. I was enjoying my drive home from work in my 1994 VR6 when on came the coolant warning light. Turns out the radiator has popped and is basically dead (it's done almost 140k so i'm not too surprised). I need to get this repaired ASAP - where's the best place to go? Will I have to go to the stealers, or will my local garage or performance specialist be able to order one in fairly quickly and fit it cheaper? I don't know if this is a VR6 only part or is it common to other VW's? Advice would be very much appreciated.
