My mk2 8v used to occasionally do this. Ended up bein the rear crank oil seal. Bit of a 7wat to do.

Just booked mine in at awesome gti to get the trackin and camber all set up, might have a bit of -ve put on :twisted:

I use shell optimax, about 98 ron, bit dearer than normal, but you know that your gettin the best( better than bp ultimate imo)

Theres a lad with a 16v jetta who comes to my meet in stoke and his does the same. 8loody valvers :roll:

Ive got a 1800 16v with the mods shown in my sig. When stone cold, it will start absolutely brilliantly (barely even turns and it kicks straight in), when the engine is hot it also starts well, but when the engine is in between, it takes quite a few turns before it starts. You can hear the fuel pump priming and whilst the engine is turning over, you can get a strong smell of petrol. Ive given it a service and changed the plugs and leads, but this hasnt really helped. Anyone else had any similar problems or got any ideas?? Im new to these 16v engines, so havent had much experience working on them.

Yeah, they will go on ok, would go for 195/50's myself tho, will give you a bit of extra grip on the road, only 10mm but every bit helps

Not to my taste, Im a fan of the standard clusters myself!
