  1. Hahahaha classic!!! You live and learn eh
  2. Havent a clue mate, just spotted that it had been posted up recently on the EastSide VW forums. How the hell do you survive that kind of thing though? Surely no one can deny that its a miracle??
  3. I was saying to Kev that even after having taken the GTR out for atest drive a couple of times, it"s 'magic' its not as good as the Rado. Obviously I didnt drive it to the limit so maybe it comes alive more towards the limit, but then that's where I think the Rado wins, you dont HAVE to go all out in order to enjoy it whereas I get the feeling you will have to in the GTR. Time will tell eh :-)
  4. Jim: A friend has a 911 Turb (996) which he kindly alllowed me to have a real enthusiastic go in. By jeebus that thing is nuts, the solidity, the grip that you can instantly feel, the power, the power delivery, it truly is an amazing car. After my go in that, jumped back in my Rado & I really did not think that I had stepped down, it felt roughly in the same category as far as the "magic" or "x factor" goes. My experience anyway :)
  5. Ah, we both knew it was gonna happen one day eh, I never thought you would feel this strongly about it though! We'll go for a drive when you come up this week... :D
  6. I dont have the manual with me, its in Dundee, I'm in Aberdeen so no ready access to that for the moment, was hoping someone may be able to help me out with that? Switch on gearbox? Not following you mate?
  7. Was reversing and a mate in his car said my reverse lights (both of them) are not working, so i thought simple, change bulbs. Bought new bulbs, fitted them but still they dont work so I'm thinking obviously more than just a bulb? Anyone point me in the right direction? Could it be a fuse? If so which fuse? And how would I access this certain fuse? (Never had to access the fusebox so really havent a clue where it is). I havent noticed anything else out of the ordinary, if that helps at all?
  8. The earliest I remember is when the petrol was 78.9p/litre, not that old really eh...
  9. How old are you John-M if you dont mind me asking?
  10. Whats made you go for a techtonics mate? I have a techtonics on now aswell, and I'm also in Aberdeen if you wanna have a look anytime!
  11. Hehehe, by the time you are happy with your VRT, the GTR might be dead! Hi Vince, haha, it might be a Nissan, but we all know what Nissan can do with its "Skyline/GTR" cars :) And, I'm sure you know what it can do in a straight line and in the bends :D :D I'm good mate, thanks. A bit of a delay in bumping up the power in my car, got married and now expecting our first little un mid-March, so postponing everything, but I WILL be down soon, you can bet your turbo on it! :salute: How's everything your ends? Making a lot of Corrado owners happy eh? :norty:
  12. Coming back regularly to check whats happening on this forum is probably one of the worst mistakes I have ever made!!! There was a time when I wasnt visiting as often for whatever reason(s), and I was happy with what i had because I knew no better. Now I come back and there is this available, and that available, and this WITH that available and I want it ALL!!! DAMN YOU LOT! DAMN YOU ALL!!!!

    288 v 312

How would you compare them to Black Diamond/Tarox pads mate?

    288 v 312

Yup, thats what I'm saying aswell. And if you do decide to go to 288/312, then use Brembo as oppose to OE

    288 v 312

I didnt have a chance to compare the 280 to the 288, I went straight from the 280 to the 312s, I DO have a habit of braking quite late and quite hard. For me the 280s were rubbish, they really were not up to what I had to give. These 312s last a little longer but still not any 'REAL' stopping power. My opinion is if you want to get some proper braking efforts, get proper upgraded brakes than just size of the disc. In saying, I recently changed from Tarox pads to Black Diamond pads and there is a big difference. The Tarox were so much better, could handle more adn gave better feel, more confidence so brands make a difference aswell.
  17. As detailed as possible please, I want every single detail!
  18. Thought had all moved on Synta Platinum...still in a silver container. Is that what mean? I wouldnt recommend the Platinum mate. My dealer said its good stuff, and granted he gave it to me free (regular you see ) but my car went through the stuff real quick. Changed back to the Silver stuff and its much better!
  19. I am one of the 'unvoiced' folk who REALLY appreciate Vince's enthusiasm, dedication, sincerity, advice, skill and loyalty to the customer. I've not had much done in terms of power gains but I have had my head rebuilt with spacers put on and head bolts, along with a whole retune of the suspension work etc etc. Again, not much power gains but I have specifically went to Vince for anything major because I trust him. Vince, it's Nadeem, dont know if you remember, have the green Storm, I was the one who kept on giggling after having teh Schrick done and the Quaiffe setup fitted, I had planned for a supercharger and spoke to you about it and said will be back, all the way from Dundee? I think I have changed my mind actually. Through a few conversations with Kev and now having a look at all the dyno graphs, I'm sure turbo is the way to go. I have another toy being delivered soon-ish so my money is going on that for the timebeing but as soon as I have extra change, you can count on me being down there and hassling you with phone calls. Well done for acheiving such results and keep up the dedicating good work for Corrados and Corrado owners! :salute: :salute: :salute:
  20. Well one of the times I got a 5 point (in the one go) and a £120 fine :bad-words: Another time I got 4 points (in the one go) and a £273 fine :censored: :censored: :bad-words: :bad-words: Go figure! :cuckoo:
  21. As has already been said here, its not the unreliable for me, its more maintenance parts that need done. Ie replacing bushes, wheel bearings etc etc, all parts that would need doing on every car given enough mileage and age. Mine has never let me down, but certains parts have failed such as the spoiler not working, the common faults, but that doesnt mean the car cant get me from A to B. Compared to my mother in laws S reg MkIV Golf, its reliable. The only thing I would be worried about in a long distance journey is if I get stuck in traffic but thats only due to me needing a new radiator, other than that I'm very confident taking it anywhere, whereas my mother in law is surprised everytime it manages to make it up from Manchester to Dundee. I think that says it all
  22. That looks cool. Must be pretty big to cost £255!![/quote:fgomxn6f] It betterbe fookin lifesize before i spend that much![/quote:fgomxn6f] Don't you just hate it when Amazon dont give you proper details sometimes!!! :censored:
  23. This thread prompted me to email the guy who I bought it from. Our only form of contact was via email before I bought the car from him when I was asking questions and such. Emailed him yesterday just briefly saying that I still had the car I bought from him, many modifications had been done and many more to go and asked what he was driving nowadays. 'Twas his work email so now it depends if he still works there or not, 5 years later...
