  1. Why would you need that on the back when it is FWD? Can't be RWD with those skinny rear tyres.
  2. So what you reckon then... get it on the jig first, or try and get the drivetrain assessed and fixed... so it can be towed (and I don't have to pay £50 a shot every time I want it moved)
  3. Or just have to swap a back wheel for a front, then put the SS on the back.
  4. Aye, we tightened the hub nut, because the brake disk was wobbly, but the damage had been done tho the bearing carrier, and the calipers were sitting at a funny angle.
  5. Erm.. no it didn't... I just had my calipers at a funny angle!
  6. We got the engine running at the weekend, seems to be running OK, don't you think Tom? Going to need a new bumper (+ all bits attached to it), slam panel and Mocal. Will need new rims, and need to assess the drivetrain/suspension on the n/s/f, the hub is sitting at a funny angle. Good excuse to get some nicer rims and a coilover kit I guess :D Wings seem to have been bent maybe 1/2 cm as well, or the bonnett has, there is no gap one side on the bonnett, and on the other side I can just get my pinky in the gap :norty:
  7. Getting a bit sore now, my backs killing me and I'm struggling to walk. Went to the docs, they fobbed me off with some painkillers (that are not strong enough). Gonna go see an osteopath I think, that was what my Auntie recommended to do (she's a physio) Car is home now, so gonna have a go at getting engine done on Sat (weather permitting) Tom has gracefully offered to come give me a hand.
  8. Try cleaning out the ISV and check the foam in the ISV "rectangular black plastic mufler thing" hasn't come loose and blocked the pipe.
  9. Yep, inspector just called me to say it's being written off, getting the car home tonight to put back to standard, and to try and get engine running.
  10. It's not that bad pain, just like I've been playing rugby or something, necks only a tiny bit stiff. I don't have time to go to the docs. If it's still bad after the weekend I'll do something (although my doctors is a drive away, so not sure how I'm gonna get there).
  11. Cheers guys, really don't know what I'm gonna do. Still ache all over, and haven't had much of a chance to get anything sorted as I'm flat out at work. I get the impression that if the insurance pays out it will be a write off, and I can't afford to fix it, especially if the engine is fooked (the only way that would be is if the shop started and ran the engine dry) I really am feeling that I just want shut of the C and to go buy a something small and with a wussie engine (that will be cheap on insurance too)
  12. Thing is, if I choose to fix it like Tom wants, it's gonna cost me an arm and a freaking leg, and I was looking to get a flat soon. I'll see what the insurance company offer.
  13. I can't believe they started the engine after it all leaked when I started it. Eejits.
  14. Dunno, maybe a 1.1 fiesta or a pushbike. Think I'm too dangerous with a fast car.
  15. Aye, I said so in one of the first few posts in this thread.
  16. I've told Coxy to look for another seller, not sure when my car will be back on the road. Probably easier as I don't even know if it's fixable, and I don't want to mess him about for months.
  17. It's not that bad dude, you can fly from liverpool for £40ish
  18. Oil was coming from the mocal, so I'm guessing that's fudged!
  19. Well it is actually the truth! I've had them here for 2 weeks, just never got off my bum and got the tax!
  20. They were OK about it, I said the reason I didn't have my insurance docs with me is because I had them at work to get the tax.
  21. £90? You mean £184. I'm gonna go get it now and put it on the car.
  22. Log book is in the car which is in the garage, I'll have to borrow a car to go and get it. If anyone will lend me one
