  1. New fuel pump sorted it. When it was under a quarter, the pump wasn't submerged and was overheating.
  2. Hello all, Finally recently got my Corrado back on the road after 13 months off it, and have power problems when the tank is under 1/4 full. It's ok if accelerating gently but when the throttle is opened fully it is very lumpy, with surges then moments where it's actually decellerating despite sounding like the throttle is fully open. I've ran it for about 2 months hoping maybe it was just where the old petrol had gone off but I've run it right down and it's still the same, but is fine when over 1/4 tank. I also run Redex though at quite a high concentration but to no avail.... I took it to Deutsch Wagen in Cambridge today and they got 2 error codes, lamba sensor short circuit to earth and no signal from the engine speed sensor. It may be the reason, it may be coincidence, but the fact it's fine unless the petrol is under 1/4 tank would suggest it has nothing to do with these, but then I'm not an expert. Does anyone know possible reasons for this? I'm thinking I may have to pay Vince a visit a lot sooner than expected to get this done along with the cooling system after-run program problem discussed in another thread.... PS Does anyone have any experience of Deutsch Wagen in Cambridge? They did a good job on my sister's Golf, but that's my only experience with them....
  3. Thanks all, turned out to be nothing, it's just the way it is!
  4. Hi all, Went for a short spin in the car tonight and when parked I noticed the leather gearstick gaitor was a bit warm. I felt the sides and the Karmann badge which all seemed warm as well so I took the cover off and found it quite hot under there, to the point my finger couldn't touch it for very long otherwise it would become uncomfortable. The problem I have is I need to go approx 50 miles tomorrow for an interview, but am worried the gearbox is overheating. Am I just being paranoid? I can't remember if it's always like this!
  5. What do people think about Tarox disks? I bought a pair second hand cheap to use when my current OEM's have had it, but they are grooved and drilled, I'm a bit worried about using them now!
  6. Here's a pic of mine (I'll post a better one later), it had been done by a previous owner and I've never bothered to get a non-colour coded replacement, I think from some angles it looks, good, others not so... it does take a battering but a touch up stick every now and then does the trick.
  7. I'm interested in a 4 fuse & relay loom.
  8. It could of been more serious, claim on his insurance, hopefully he'll take more care as a result and not do it to someone else where it could be.
  9. Does anyone know what these are? I thought they may be BBS RXs but they look slightly different...
  10. I'm back in the UK, and working again, but I haven't got the Corrado back on the road so haven't done anything towards solving this problem, although earlier today I decided it's time to get it back on the road after an 8 month period off the road! Should be around a months time it's back, and after it is I plan to take it to Stealth to take a look at the system, I've already spoken to Vince about it and he has a master plan to diagnose and fix. Need to get it MOT'd first though, for which the horn is needed, which currently doesn't work due to the horn fuse being one and the same as the after-run fuse. Bit wary about putting the fuse back in as last time the water temp got to a certain level there was a power surge before the fuse popped, at which point the aux pump stopped working, so may have to pull the fuse out on the sly during the MOT after the horn's been tested. I will post up what's wrong with the system currently when it's fixed, which hopefully shouldn't be too long :)
  11. I was going to get it done after next payday, so no I haven't done this yet, I'll give them a ring, thanks! :)
  12. Ah ok, this is most likely the difference between the types of repair the 2 companies listed above do. This may be a silly question, but could the hub be affected over time by a buckled wheel?
  13. Thanks all, gave them both a ring today, http://www.wheelrefurbishing.co.uk said they can fix buckles, flat spots for around £26+VAT for a 16", and say it's safe as long as the wheel is complete and there are no cracks, which is good to hear. Only bad thing is I'm going to have to post or deliver the wheel myself, probably the latter after hearing Blue_Joe's courier experience :) Tried http://www.wickedwheels.co.uk as well but unfortunately the lady on the phone said they don't repair buckles, only scuffs, corrosion, kerbing etc.... Just did an RAC route plan using postcodes to wheelrefurbishing.com and the distance is 66.6 miles, was an omnious moment seeing that, maybe it's not a good idea after all :)
  14. Can they really repair a buckle in their mobile van? I was under the impression buckles needed to be done at a workshop. Ah: "Can you repair bent or cracked wheels? No, we don`t recommend straightening or welding wheels. It is always best to replace. Please call us for a quote. Wheels which are kerbed or scratched are easily repaired on-site." But they also say: "Kerb damage, chipped alloys, scraped alloys, scuffed alloys or even pot hole damaged wheels - our Alloy Wheel repair and refurbishment service will help get your car looking its best again." Do you think the flat spot could be classed as pot hole damage?
  15. One of the C's alloys has a flat spot and a slight wobble, I understand companies such as http://www.wheelrefurbishing.co.uk can fix this, but others are saying it's not a good idea to do, as they may break up at high speed  I'd really like to keep the set and fix the wheel, as I can't find a replacement and they look good on the C, but I'm worried by getting them repaired it could impede safety... :? Any advice would be greatly appreciated :)

    Rear Lights

Is there any difference between early and late rear lights? I've searched with a few terms but couldn't find anything. Thinking of buying a second set and red tinting them.
  17. Yeah, I think the test was for the best handling FWD, not taking everything else into account, which I guess on that basis, a car that had poor reliabilty, looks, practicality etc... could have won, as long as it handled the best....
  18. Thanks, your right on the wheels, Momo Arrows, and the cc'd bumper was done by previous owner. It needs a few things fixing, for the MOT new tyres, engine mount near gearbox, and the strange problem where the number plate lights go out when the boot is closed :? , will be investigating this weekend. After MOT it'll be: Minor leak from offside driveshaft where it joins gearbox Cooling after-run problem (covered in a thread on here somewhere) Clutch (currently sometimes get judder when pulling away in 1st) Weakish handbrake (despite newish discs and pads) Spoiler mech (one side doesnt go down, but goes up strangely) Rear axle bushes Driver heated seat thermostat not working (can get v hot!) Heated mirrors not working Interior rattles Minor dent in rear quater panel Wheel refurb Stone chip removal A few problems, but nothing too expensive, mainly just niggling little things. Hoping to do as much of the work I can myself. After all that's done, it'll be time to tune :D
  19. I quite like what they say in the review section in the back of Evo: "(+ points) Still to bettered from all-round ability and appeal (- points) Err"
  20. I think a Corrado is classier than a Integra, I do like Integras, and agree they most likely handle on a track better, but they are not meant to be as comfortable as a Corrado, and the interior and looks are not as nice IMO.
  21. Hello everyone, I'm relatively new to the forum, and never did post a newbie 'Hello' thread when I did join, so here it is. I've owned a Corrado VR6 for around 2 and a half years, and am very happy with it, despite the minor niggling problems it has. I had to take it off the road in March, which is why I haven't visited as mush as I used to, but I plan to get back on the road in October, and really can't wait after running around in a 1.3 Mk2 Golf with no PAS, it has done a great job and never let me down, but it's not quite a Corrado :) Another reason is I've just come back from a weekend at the Nurburgring with some members of the 306 Gti-6 owners club, one of which is an old school friend, and would love to get the 'Rado back on the road and take it over, despite all the set-backs we had, in that out of the 7 cars that went, only 5 returned (someone crashed, and another developed an electrical fault and was left in Germany to be fixed). A top weekend though despite this, so many nice cars, not just on the track, but in the car parks and driving around the general area. Got overtaken by a McLaren SLR on the ring (sounded like a helicopter)! Surprisingly I only saw 2 Corrado's all the time I was there!
  22. Clean, dark coloured valver with 17s and different rear lights in Cottenham L950 *** around 5p.m, we greeted each other, I was behind for about a quater mile before having to turn off.
