Hi, I have been on here a while, but not since I sold my raddo last year. I somehow lost my main account, only found this original one. I guess I was lucky with my vr6, never really needed the manual. It is for sale on eBay now if you wanna look, I have plenty of feedback on there. But I'd rather sell it on here. Let me know if anyone wants it. Thanks. Sam.

hi there, pm'd you for a drivers side kit please.. :) -
dude, hold everything. please dont order the parts yet. yesturday my headlights have fused my battery, so i need to spend some cash sorting out the standard wiring first. ill have to hold off getting your loom until i know how much its gonna cost to fix my current problem. sorry for the inconvience if you have already ordered them.
-
thanks ill check the wires properly, i had a quick look at the wires with the headlights in place, couldnt see or smell any burnt wire, ill take the lights out for a proper check. any idea which fuse the main beam is connected to? its a bit worrying its shorted the battery out twice now, i guess its gonna muller the battery life pretty baddly too. joy. if theres no wires obviously melted/broken and the fuses are in tack ill have to tkae it to an auto electrician/local specialist... yey corrados.. how much are 2004 plate focus's again? lol

resurected thread. i too have just fitted new main beam h3 bulbs, (after messing about with trying to fit hid xenons all day- and failing due to naff wiring). after fitting my battery was randomly dead, i managed to charge it up, but now when i tried my new main beam bulb it went dead, no battery at all. after 5 mins the interior light came on but not enough power to turn over. any ideas what could cause the short? would any fuses be affected.? would a short discahrge the battery?? im a bit rubbish with electrics.. thanks sam

For info i finally solved this! It was the flaming immobiliser! Hopefully sorted by wd40 on the immobiliser contacts.

scratch that, ive just seen the prices of 195/50/15 looks like ill break out the speedlines for the wintery weather. better to save the porsches anyway! :) now ill have winter, summer and autum/spring wheels! lol
-
hi, ive bought some porsche 928 16x7 wheels to run over the winter, and im thinking of putting some proper winter tyres on. for summer wheels i would put on 195/45/16 but i want a bit more prtection for the rim incase i rub a kerb. (even though they are winter i dont want to wreck them, and i dont really want to run heavy steels for 3-4 moths) do you think 215/40/16 would be widest to sesibly go? ive seen some cheapish winters that are 205/55/16 but i think they would have to much height in the side wall, i just want some extra width. any idea what would be best? :notworthy: thanks. sam

Apparently the normal Vw bolts are fine as porshe and Vw use radiused bolts. Good stuff.
-
slightly related, but do you need to get new porshe specific wheel bolts to run porsche wheels?? or will normal vw ones do?? im using 35mm adaptors on my 7j 928's

That's brilliant thanks, :) I'll have a go this arvo once it's stopped raining. Much appreciated!! :salute:

Hi, I have a new crank sensor ready to fit to try to fix a starting prob. I really need to buy a bently manual, but in the mean time; Would anyone be willing to quickly describe where the sensor goes, what I may need to fit it, and how it fits. Lol I hAve no idea about this part sorry, and I can't find anything on line. Many thanks Sam
-
how hard is it to fit the crank sensor? does anyone know of a guide, or if its just plug and play does anyone have a pic of where it is exactly? as i dont even know where it is! lol. damn i need a bently manual!
-
true true, ill go for an original one from the stealers.. common sense prevails. oh no wait, im driving a 16yr old vr6 lol.
-
hey, ive decided to replace my crank sensor to get over some start problems. i found one on euro car parts for £60 do you thinkits the right one for a '95 vr6? or it it worth paying the extra 20 for an oem one? http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Volks ... 97f45&ENSE ta.

haha actually scratch that i just found some nice parts on ebay, so ill be getting a second hand thule one. still the ECP for £45 is worth a mention for reference. :D
-
hey, just to let you know i think i have found a really cheap roof rack from euro car parts, quoted as being a made a "Carpoint Roof Bar Set Supra 3" sounds like it should fit the corrado. and it only costs £45. bargain. its never gonna be as good as a thule one. but for that price and for the very occastional usage should be ok..! ill go have a look at them on monday and report. anyone tried one?
-
haha spoke too soon, same start problem, but only took a few attempts to start it.. hmmmm. i may try the ingnition switch, but someon has but in a push button starter so im not sure if that will affect it. more reading, ill be a raddo nerd soon enough! lol.

replaced the fuel and ecu relays, touch wood it seems to have fixed it! starts and idles perfectly. :) only trouble is that in my faffing the heater matrix is buggered.. lol.
