Location: Santa Pod Raceway, Podington, Wellingborough NN29 7XA

The GTI Spring Festival is now established as the real 'season opener', and THE one day show for all enthusiasts of all VAG marques, SEAT, Skoda, Audi and of course Volkswagen. And now the Volkswagen Group includes Lamborghini, Bentley and Bugatti too! The GTI Spring Festival, is a show where all VAG vehicles are welcome with open arms. All clubs are invited to display during the day, and after a very well received revamp of the show layout, the clubs area is now able to accommodate in excess of the 40 clubs who regularly attend the event.

The GTI Spring Festival Show & Shine has a massive number of awards including Best Audi, Best Skoda, Best SEAT and Best VW - Best Engineering, Best Paint, Best Engine, Best Van and many more. There are also 'top twenty' trophies covering all the marques, and full details are available here: www.vwaction.com/gtispring/show-and-shine.html

Only VAG vehicles are permitted on the hallowed Santa Pod quarter-mile at GTI Spring Festival, and as pioneered by NAS Events, your signing on fee is for the entire day, not just for one or two runs. Awards on the track include quickest VW, Audi, SEAT and Skoda, as well as a number of awards based on engine sizes. At Santa Pod, you are driving on a superb purpose built surface, and using world record standard calibrated timing. The Santa Pod marshalls and safety teams are the most practiced and efficient staff in Europe. Basically, you are getting the absolute best available when you sprint at GTI Spring Festival.

With the addition of the Dizzy Rascals Handling Circuit, Traders, Girlz N Dubz, Autojumble and Club Displays – the GTI Spring Festival has something for every VAG enthusiast.

  2. Any more of an update Pete on this?

There's a name I've not seen in a while! How are you mate? Hope your keeping well!! Take it you have a Corrado these days?

no update, car currently still at stealth racing, it's having engine work too but this will be trial fitted an template made while on my car.

Once this is done, it will be returned to dub power and them put into production and at that point made available to public :)

Will keep everyone in the loop!

  3. Sorry, I've been keeping the thread on vr6oc updated, in a nutshell my car is at stealth now getting my engine work etc... done. I said there was no rush in getting it sorted but everything is there to produce a template while if gets jigged up on my car, once this has been done and we are happy then it will be back to dubs port to put them Into production, can't say much more than that other than this is happening and it's in progress.

I looked at the trail tail pipe and it's a pretty good replica for a rough and ready version, but watch this space.

  4. Everything is now in place for my car going down next Monday to stealth racing. There's 2 versions of their current exhaust waiting for me, and a kit that will be used to make a prototype using my car as a live jig, the bits have been at stealth for months, but they are very busy and I've had to wait to get it booked in for other things too you see. I'll know more tomorrow.

  5. What do they sound like ? For me the standard exhaust is far to quiet so I will be getting a full stainless in time but it needs to sound better than a stocker nothing massively rorety but louder than stock .

Although I've not heard a DubPower exhaust personally, I'm advised they are louder than standard, but not too loud.

They will sound exactly the same as a currently available exhaust from DubPower so if anyone has one, please shout up and let us know.

    Few teaser shots :)

It's a shame that only 27 cars were allowed on the banked section though due to health and safety regulations and cars being too low :( hey ho

Counted over 65 different VRs, R32's and an awesome V6 Turbo TT.

No problems guys, was a fantastic day, I've not long got in, popped over to the merc place too after. Hope you liked trophies and cakes.

    What a car!

P.S - anyone who went on the banked track and didn't pay will need to PayPal me the money as in currently. £110 out of pocket :) cheers guys.

Looking forward seeing all the pics and feedback on the event :)

  7. Hi,

I just wanted to send you a quick update regarding the V6 Festival taking place this Saturday @ Brooklands Motorsport Museum!

    What time does it start?

The gates open at brooklands at 10:00am.

There are various meeting points / convoys taking place, please check vr6oc.com and r32oc.com for details.

    Banked track group photos

Brooklands advised us a couple days ago that we will only be allowed to take 60 cars onto the banked track or pay an additional £500 (!!), but for this years event we do not have the budget to do this unfortunately, however the issue we have is that that 80+ cars have registered before we we advised of this change from when we first booked the event with the venue, so to gauge interest we would like to know who is interested in taking part in the banked track photo then please fill out the following form http://form.jotformeu.com/form/32956160679364 to indicate if you are wanting to take part in the group photo or not.

We will issue 60 passes on the day should the demand be greater than we have have allocated to us, however I am still trying to negotiate with the venue to allow us more cars on.

Due to health and safely regulations, the group photo will only take place should the weather allow (keep those fingers crossed) and there will be cost of (£10 payable to Brooklands) per car who wishes to take part in the group photo session, each session will run approximately for 30 minutes.

*** If anyone has some photography / video skills who can capture the day then please get in touch ***

What are the show and shine categories?

The show categories are as follows:

    Best wheels

    Best interior

    Best engine bay

    Car of the show

Runner up car of the show

    And maybe one more!! :)

The VR6OC team will be judging the cars in the early afternoon with trophy and prize presentations around 3:00 - 3:30 (times are subject to change depending upon weather conditions).

    What are the prizes?

We have made some awesome VR6/R32 head gasket style trophies for the above categories and in addition, we also have the following prizes sponsored by KleenFreaks for the winners.

    Shampoo

    Quick Detailer

    KF stickers

    What does it cost?

    Adult £10.00
