  1. I had ABS comms issues like you've mentioned here and it was actually VCDS causing the problem not the ECU... Tried using Older ver of vag com and it was fine...

  2. It's been a while since I've put an update on here, been a little busy with work and all that sort of stuff.

Sunday, I got the rear brake lines on, bled up the system, and troubleshooted the ABS problems I've been having as the light does'nt come on at all, and I was getting comms issues using VCDS....

I replaced the ABS ECU, obtained a new ABS Lamp, still had the same issues, It seems that the replacement ABS lamp also had a blown bulb, and it would appear VCDS has a software bug, as older version of VAG-COM talk to the ECU just fine!

I tested the ABS by attaching a side repeater bulb to the terminals, and it came on and off as expected.

Continued to set the coilover ride height, and spray the coilovers with chain wax to protect them, sorted a blow on the exhaust joints but the centre silencer has developed a hole due to rust, so will need to replace them....

Here's a quick photo of trying to get the car up my drive, its quite steep, so had to make sure ride height was set appropriately :)

I'm now toying with the idea of selling my Brock B2's and looking out for some compomotive mo's again! I really like those, and would do anything to get my old set back!

Last night I soldered in my my ABS bulbs last night, so now have (seemingly) working ABS... that was my biggest issue, preventing me from MOT'ing the car.

Fit side repeater case - Need to order

Fit front drivers brake hose clip

secure fog light cases to bumper

    fit new heater bowden cable

    finish fitting heater controls

put remaining dash trims back in

    tracking / camber etc...

  3. yes i'll take those thanks :) Its always a chore going to my local VW and I just want to get the car MOT'ed :) I only really need the drivers side to be honest as my passengers is fine, but for 8 quid i'l take em :)

  4. Sussed it...

I've actually been unlucky, it just ended up being a blown bulb in the ABS light unit, unfortunately I did buy another one, but that had a blown bulb too! I'm going to try and find a new bulb and solder it onto the PCB...

Also the comms issue appears to be VCDS, I tried vag-com 709.x and that was fine... It just freaks out when using VCDS.

  5. Hiya, while working on my corrado at the weekend, some corrosion on the exhaust has blown a hole in the front silencer... this is the tubular part that attaches after the CAT to the rest of the exhaust system...

does anyone know the cheapest place to buy one of these?

    Cheers!

    Pete
