  1. Them little m coupes have AMAZING performance, I was on my bike and saw an m coupe right up my bum, pulled the throttle back, looked behind me after around 10 or so seconds and it was still there!!! Most respect ive given to a car, 15k really? Thought they were alot more than that. Like alot of others i also LOVE the tuscan, am sure owning one would be a nightmare tho. I get 19 mpg combined from my 1.8T cant imagine the fuel economy on a tuscan.
  2. If these are gel batteries, what exturbo2003 is saying is correct about not using a standard charger. Same applied to my motorcycle gel battery, i tried charging it with a standard charger and it just killed the internals and the battery wouldnt hold no charge at all. You need to use a charger specified for gel batteries, I have an optimate 3, says on the box "suitable for gel batteries" also i remember when buying this seeing chargers which had warnings on them saying not suitable for gel batteries. I think you probably could get away with charging it from the alternator though
  3. If you send me the picture and quote you want at bottom i can make you another one
  4. You will have to check the numbers printed on the ECUs which is located under under the windscreen, you will have to undo the windscreen wiper. You will need a pro to swap the chips around unless you are very handy with a soldering iron. I sent my ECU off to Germany and got the chip and installation for £180 including £40 for p+p. Most UK companies are charging between £300-550.
  5. ive had exactly the same problem on my golf 1.8T, did it myself, wasnt very hard although golfs have different engine layout. At first i thought it was leaking from the T connector and was just cleaning the spray off the gear box, but i soon found the split in the hose. It was also causing my engine oil level to rise (i thought theres no way my engine can be producing oil) It was probably caused by some sort of vacuum, ever since i replaced the pipe thats been fine also. Has been fine ever since.
  6. and us at cardiff university. Rules are that the air flow into the engine is restricted via a certain diameter hole,so its quite a challenge. We had turbo charger running on the car last year on a cbr 600 engine.
  7. Does the anniversery have same size discs as the nrmal turbo gti? I bought a set of original mats off ebay for £30 thinking that was cheap, next time i went to vw found them for £25, bought replacement GTi badge after some1 decided to have a screwdriver to mine for under a tenner, they were going for 15+ on ebay.
  8. Heya Just wnated to know what sort of mpg the vr6 got and the g60? i am slowly being tempted towards the vr6. Also as the vr6 does not have the supercharger and is overall a newer engine, does this make it more reliable?
  9. p.s anyone tried the octane boost stuff?
  10. Normal petrol local to me costs 86.9 at tesco and thats a penny or two cheaper than other local garages, i cant imagine them selling the better stuff for cheaper, or were they the prices a month ago?
  11. Ease up, fancy seeing you here, its a small world Nah nothing to do with being 21, needed a car for some while to get to uni and back, fed up with getting bro or parents to give me a lift, and the bike is useless in the winter and not gonna take it back after them thieving scum had a go at nicking it. I was gonna buy a golf, but wanted something a little more original. I remember you had a rado from one of the pics you posted, im sure it was blue though? was gonna pm you, ask your opinion on them. Whats it like compared to the gixxer? :)
  12. Do the corrado and golf 16v have same engines? If so im guessing the golfs are quicker due to lighter weight? I know id rather the corrado though.
  13. Thx for that, I havent looked too much into insurance but cheapest i have found so far is 1300 fully comp and 1050 tpf+t that was an online quote with admiral. with no no claims though. I do have 2 years motorcycle no claims and pass plus and been driving 4 years but the the no claims werent accepted online im sure they will be over the phone. Where did you get quoted £600 from? Is it able to cruise at around 80-90? I have the bike when i want to rev the nuts off of something, i dont mind constantly changing gear on that although i wouldnt like it so much on a car, but then again i do want a high end rush..decisions decisions..
  14. Heya, Im new and thought id introduce myself. Im from Oxford although study mechanical engineering at Cardiff university for 9 months of the year. Currently own a Suzuki GSXR 600. Am looking to buy a corrado in around a months time. i have ruled out the VR6 as i am only 21 insurance and running costs will be way too high for my liking. From the research i have done so far i have narrowed down the choice to either a G60 or 1.8 16v as apparantly the 2.0 were slower although better better mid range. I want to spend around £2000, i wanted to know peoples opinions on which others would buy the G60 or 16v :?: I would obviously prefer the G60 but i dont want to spend masses on the supercharger and will probably be difficult to find a G60 for that price anyway...wont it? How reliable are the superchargers Can someone tell me the performance differences between the g60 and 16v? Who has first hand experience, seen differing stats online, i know it will vary with the condition of the car but i just want general jist. one of my friend has a mk 2 golf Gti, and another has a civic v-tec. i would like one that can stick with these. thx in advance
