Ill check that, you think could be loose? Saying that, ive only noticed the knocking noise in the last week or so. Are the heat sheilds known for knocking, its not knocking when im going over bumps, just general driving.

Cheers Stan 24v. You got contact details, or web address? So the knocking noise, isnt necessarily going to be an obvious noise. The noise I THINK i can hear is very very quiet and not a blatent sound.

Correction on the mileage, it was 115k when i bought it, its now at 121k Yeah its the top end. I do suspect the valve stem seals. But im not sure if theres a slight knocking at the bottom end too. But without knowing 100% what a knocking bottom end sounds like im not sure. Plus as said above it feels down on power. The revs have to get to about 3k before any power kicks in. Its a right dog to drive, especially in traffic. Would it be a wise idea to get it on a RR to see what the power output is?

Hi all, My VR6 is burning oil like a good un, about a litre every 300miles. I wanting to get the engine reconditioned or exchanged for a reconditioned unit. Ive found a place in London (Heathrow area) that do recondition engines who have quoted me £1590 to recondition my existing engine and includes fitting, OR £1900 for one of their engines, inc fitting but only if i exchange my current engine. Do these prices sound about right? However, i would ideally want to get it sorted somewhere closer to home. I live in Leeds, so if anyone knows of a garage they can recommend where i can get the engine reconditioned or anyother advice i would be grateful! Cheers Gaz

True, but i was referring to the mods you'd expect to do first IF the G-lader was to be left under the bonnet. Chip and 68mm pulley if cheap as chips for the extra 30bhp.

Give Darren a ring a G-werks. You could have it upgraded to a stage 2/4.

Someone will be along to give you more info and advice Scoobyboy1, but i believe the G60 engine is more tunable to the VR6, which can give more power for your bucks. g-erks (g-werks.com) and Stealth (stealthracing.com) are commonly used by members of the forum and give a good service.

Kick Up The Rs, Halfords DO stock the tinting spray. But unless youve got skills its hard to do imo. Id go with the smoked as Therapor said.
