Here's what they look like
-
They are on the shelf at TPS, I bought 2 on Friday for £1.35 : ) Let me know and I'll give you their number and the part no. if needed. Matt
-
And they sell them at VW Heritage (make sure you use the forum discount code)

Speaking from experience please dont just buy a new switch and fit it! The right thing to do is take the old one off, use a battery or power pack and send some current down the mirrors, this will free them off and make sure that they work. if you put the new switch on then you will send too much current through the tiny tracks and they blow (I.e. the solder breaks and you don't have a continuous circuit) Then and only then you should fit the switch. I didn't do the power thing and blew 2 switches (They burn and smell so you will know you've done it instantly) I've got some switch spares if you need parts but the tracks on the printed circuit boards are blown. You should pay around £14-£20, poss inc the handle for second hand. Good luck, Matt

Great car, lovely to see another one on here. I fitted AP coliovers to mine a few weeks back and love the transfomation from 4x4!
-
New front Discs and pads, rear pads, braided hoses, replaced the rusted brake lines (there were many) and found a hole in the rear sill that needs welding this afternoon :bad-words:
-
Craig do you have any pics?

Just called VW in Swindon for a few old parts for the Raddo, Fixing clips for under dash tray & seat belt cap cover. Both not in stock, but was able to order the cover from VW and they are posting it (for free) just needed to pay the 85p for the part. Service! They then recommended that I call TPS in Swindon who are VW trade parts supplier and they had the fixing clips on the shelve! and more to the point they were willing to let me collect them even tough I'm not trade. Today was a good day

Fitted new tax disc and parking permit holders (Including cleaning the old stickers off with petrol ;) then cleaned inside and out. Good night had!

My partner has an A6 as our family car and can't fault it (Well maybe I could complain about my hate for electronic handbrakes but that personal preference) The A6 S-line should come standard with Sat Nav. The cost of ownership will obviously be higher as the wheels will be bigger (Tyres), probably a heavier car, (Economy, Tax and Insurance) but my advice is go with your heart not head because after all you must be a passionate person because you already own a Corrado ; ) The last words of advise were given to me at the Porsche dealership a few years back when I walked in to buy a new Cayman (Red) and the sales man asked me "Why are you buying it?" and I responded "Because I've always wanted a 911", he said "well don't by a Cayman because you will always want a 911". I walked out empty handed and still want a 911!

Thanks, I was thinking about doing the re-trim in black but woried about the sun visors and the sunroof seal
-
Guys, I've got a grey headliner and sun visors in my car but wondered if they made a black headliner? does anyone know? Thanks Matt
-
Hi there, do you have the fusebox cover, i.e. the dash pocket on the drivers side? (Black please) and the screws that fix it to the car also. Thanks Matt
-
Boo she needs new HT leads ... Prospark available at EuroCarParts, anyone used these?
-
She's in for a major service & MOT, (inc. brake fluid and antifreeze change) plus a new radiator elbow. This is going to be costly!

Photo from the study ....

I took 8.5 hours from Mousehole to Swindon on Easter Monday, normally I wouldn't have travelled at that time of the day but a mate had a plane to catch .... he missed it
-
(It was 230 miles in fact) Cough cough I did it in 2hrs 36mins .... the average speed said 101 ..... its not big, its not clever and above all it costs! That said I did the return trip from london last night and yes I was stuck in traffic and yes I was doing an undisclosed speed on the motorway and I only made 25.2mpg
-
Ha ha sounds like an animal, I was adicted to the cone filter noise on the first VR so will definitely buy one, please fee free to send on any adverts, ones for sale that you come across! Decision made!
-
Jon how does the BMC sound? deep?
-
I remember that my first VR6 was way more thirsty but it did have a 6 branch manifold and exhaust, cone filter fitted. I once got 18.9mpg back from Cornwall on a late night 250mile trek. That has definitely put me off getting a new filter for the storm (but heck do I miss the sound-track!)
-
Supercharged do you really mean 63? surely you'd only manage that with a Bluemotion conversion or being towed by a Toyota Prius!
-
What sort of MPG are you all getting from your Corrado's? I did 69 miles this morning on the M4, between 0mph (queuing) and slighly above the national speed limit and the VR6 returned 33.7mpg. Personally I'm really chuffed with that as my S3 would struggle to return mid 20's and my MK2 1.8 does well below 15mpg on any run (most likely because it only travels at warp factor 20!) I wonder if she will be any better once she has her major service tomorrow?
-
I did the same as Jim and opted for the value for money option and used my Bank account, Halifax is £10 a month and you get breakdown cover (Which I've used twice, AA were amzing both times) Mobile phone cover (Which I used when the air hostess on Easyjet stole my Iphone), travel insurance, plus some other suff I can't remember.

First Chuftie in the Storm .... driving home last night pulled up next to a pile of t3rd Toyota family wagon from the 90's with the excellent number plate "OCD 1T" and the chap in the passenger seat rolled the window down and signalled by putting his hand to his ear "Lets hear it then", to which I kindly obliged by reving and pulling away, he was smiling and gave the thumbs up : )
