The wheels are new but the same set from my first Corrado and the car I've had for a few months, fixing the little niggles, etc. and now I've taxed her and she's being used daily (ish). Dropped it last week on AP coliovers and she's booked in for the works major service on Friday (inc Brake fluid, anti freeze and gearbox oil)

Yeah they are 8's on front and 9's on rear. Polished dish and polished flat caps. The barrels are standard silver. Metal Valves and 205/40/17 tyres

Ha ha, don't worry as this is my daily (well when I'm not using the E30 and the MK2 golf) then I too will be using 2 x locking nuts. I'm lucky that I don't need adaptors as they are 5x100. I'll post some photo's as soon as I can, I didn't want to put the rims on until I'd ordered some nuts. So we're talking next week now. Cheers M

Hi there, I have a VR6 Storm with BBS RS301's on and wondered what locking wheel nuts people recommend? Assume M14x1.5? Does anyone have any experiance with nuts and if there are any to steer clear of (Sorry no pun's intended) Matt

I went out after work and met the fellow storm driver, really nice guy called Mark. His Storm was just restored and like most of us he wasn't happy with the finish. The interior was mint, 105k on the clock. Poor Mark had recently hit a deer and pushed the lights in, smashed the passenger side indicator and fog and lost his nicely painted Storm grill. Here's the photos, moonbuggy standard v's dropped. I was lucky enough to be allowed out to hoove the interior last night, great feeling to be able to fit the Dealer supplied standard mats and conditioned the leather. I have to say it was a beautiful place to be this morning, especially with the heated seats on :smug:

Just found it on Ebay, £5.52 delivered (I guess that's why they are called the main'stealers) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/360264497516?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_595wt_847 I didn't know we got Club discount at dealers. Yeah I bought a new knob for mine too and it seems wrong when comparing matt v's the shine! I wish a new steering wheel wouldn't be so expensive

Do they sell aerial gaskets? ooooh I need one.
-
Good point, I need to get a solid rear exhaust mount as there seems to be a slight knock on the rear beam on tick-over, anyone know where to source one?
-
Had the coilover height set and all for wheels aligned, £79 job done....... perfectly straight steering wheel now :)
-
Yeah crazy, its parked next to the standard height Green Storm now so will take a photo when I go back out after work. Even from the 3rd floor you can see the difference.

Its all very good actually, I'll fetch it from Rays at lunch. the problem is getting it to you as I'm Swindon and you're on the Eastside, I've got mates there but they wouldn't take kindly to transporting springs on the train I don't think! (Let me know if you're on the M4 at all and we can sort something out) ...... Don't do it though, its just too much of a moonbuggy

I hear you guys, I dropped it when my missus said "what's wrong with the back of your corrado?", I said what has someone hit it or something, she said no but you can see all the bits behind the wheels, I immediately knew that I needed to drop it. (That said she does have 20's on her A6 :camp: ) There is more room to go but I want to use her daily and there are speed bumps in the station car park.

HI I’m Matt and this is my Corrado Storm, she’s been under cover for a while (in various places of storage), she is completely standard with only a Miltek exhaust. Strangely she’s on a M plate being registered on 22/06/1995 but I have checked with VW in Milton Keynes that she is a genuine one and they confirmed the build as Mystic blue with black heated leather and is recorded as a “special model” 95k on the clock, 3 owners, good service history (booked in next week for a major with anti-freeze, brake fluid and gearbox oil next week just to start off on the right foot for 2014) The leather is in good condition and getting treated to a weekend feed on this long weekend off. I put a new gear knob on from new old stock and some genuine VW dealer Corrado mats. I’ll yet to clean her, so again with the long weekend she’ll be getting treated. I’m more than likely going to remove the rubbing strips as they have been getting on my nerves in terms of looks. Whilst under cover I’ve fixed the rear spoiler which now travels up and down nicely in the rear view mirror, fixed the mirrors as they are stuck and the switch was burnt out. Unfortunately the new switch also burnt out so it has cost me £34 in switches but top tip is to send some power down the mirrors to free them before putting the switch under load. The roof now moves freely too but I’ve got a fault on the wiring somewhere as it doesn’t seem to have the “Hot side” wire live hence doesn’t move on the switch yet. So I taxed her and whipped her down to my amazing friend Ray’s garage (in Swindon) for some AP Coilover treatment, as everyone will agree they are a little moonbuggy in standard form. Far better after : ) Now she’s sitting in the Swindon Station car park surrounded by police and forensics as 5 cars were broken into overnight (Not her though as she resides in my garage) but on the positive side I can see one of the other 499 storms out there, yes a green one turned up around 9:00 (Number plate N***TTT) and parked up ….#heartwarming Right I’m off to have the 4 wheels aligned at lunch and my wallet lightened to the tune of a ton.

Turns out the Sunroof motor was a little ceased, I took it off and powered it from a battery pack. Its now freed up and ready to go back on. I think the fuse in position 21 has or will blow as it seemed that too much current was being drawn when I used the battery pack. Fingers crossed it will work. Just the mirrors left to go now

Thanks, I since got the spoiler working as the speed controller was unplugged behind the dash and the mirrors was a blown switch (as I found out when I replaced the switch and it burt out again, probably due to stuck mirrorsdrawing too much current) but the main issue is the sunroof motor not moving but making a click noise, i.e. its obviously taking current but cant move. I will take it off today and send some voltage into it to see if that frees it or concludes that the motor is shot. Cheers M

I got 5 mins to work on her last night and found that when I took the lower dash off to check out the wiring that the speed sensor had been disconnected, I'm now unsure why! It works perfect on the button but am unable to drive her because she is SORN and its parked below ground in the center of town! (Trade plates needed me thinks) I replaced the mirror switch (As the old one had burnt out its copper tracks) and after 2 seconds of operation the button burnt out too. So obviously the mirrors are seized hence taking too much current. I had the roof open both up and slide back by using the allen key also. The motor was unplugged. When you press the button it clicks in the motor but doesn't wind or operate. Could the motor be shot? the mech too tight for the motor to move? (I did help push the roof as I operated the motor but nothing at all. (Just the click) Suggestions welcome but I think the mech is working fine due to the test with the allen key. Thanks M

2014 Headlight Switch Group Buy. Now Arrived!

Ahh unfortunatly I bought it with none working spoiler, mirrors and roof. I've stripped the mirror switch and there is no way it would work anyway as the tracks are missing all their copper so have bought a switch and waiting for that to arrive to rule the first step out. I think the spoiler is seezed as its slightly lifted and the roof well I might turn it with an allen key to see if its elect or mech. Thanks fellow Mystic

I'm after a later spec corrado electric mirror controller / switch as the tracks and copper on mine has worn out completely. Thanks Matt

Mr_Rossy replied to larceny fink's topic in Cars for Breaking
HI there, do you have the mirror adjuster, handbrake cover, drivers side under dash pockets (i.e. the part that covers the fuse box), center scuttle cover part (Assume this was smashed) Thanks Matt -
I have no ABS light coming on, I looked at the fuse box and all the fuses are good (There is supposed to be a pair of 30A ABS fuses but I would find them. Would you suggest stripping the Spoiler mech to see if there is something stopping that working hence over-loading the circuit? Thanks Matt
-
Have you got a drivers side lower dash part that covers the fuse box (Mine is missing from below the spoiler switch) Its for a late corrado with black interior. Also the handbreak cover plastic.
-
Cheers, i.e. does the ABS light work when I start the car or when I'm driving and stamp on the brakes? To be fair I haven't noticed either

Guys I know all these parts have their own issues, i.e. sunroof guides, spoiler controller and mirrors the switch but is there a problem that causes all of these not to work at the same time? The sunroof has no sounds or noises therefore is dead completely The spoiler does nothing, at speed or via manual switch The Mirrors dont do a thing Its a 1995 VR6, I suppose these challenges are sent to test us ;) Thanks for any advise chaps
