I found that mine was caused by the C clip missing off the end of the shaft! I've now got a spare short shift for sale / or return to Dave. Matt
-
Mine is the same as yours too, I've found that the actual shifter (The gear stick) has play at the bottom. The way for find this is to feel down the shaft (This isn't porn) and try to slide the shaft left nad right from the bottom. mine moves about 1-2cm!!) I've ordered a new short shift from Dave16v for £45 in the hope that this will cure the problem (I'd be shocked if it doesn't) Cheers M

Kev, I had mine out last night again and 1. the roof moves up, back and forward nicely on the allen key 2. the motor moves freely if I use a power supply 3. I got the motor to open the roof perfectly but observations A. The motor won't reverse hence wont close (I.e. button clicks and the motor does nothing) B. If operating the motor (when hanging free from the roof) on the button it goes slow then fast then keeps on going, it has no stop function. Any ideas?
-
Remember to Power up the mirrors directly fromt a battery before fitting the switch or you'll be buying a new switch again ; )
-
There is a wire from the roof to the central locking, if you download the wiring diagram you shoud be able to find a loose conection or cut in the wire I would assume.
-
Just looked again but the switch just clicked in the forward (close position) whereas the open position works. Any ideas?
-
Interesting you say that because it feels like that is the issue, the problem being that when the motor is not fitted I press the button to open and it just goes and goes and goes but doesn't stop

I'm looking for a sunroof motor to fit my 1995 VR6 Storm. My current one goes back but stops, it just clicks. (The switch works and the roof works too as i can open and close it with the allen key) Thanks Matt (Swindon J15 of M4)

EMU I really don't know but I'll look into that.

Trackday Castle Combe 31 May 2014
Mr_Rossy replied to Tempest's topic in Event Announcements & Discussion
Yeah it was good to see a few of you, loving L11 VRG 's TH rims!!! Such a shame I couldn't get the 301's to fit the old Storm this morning : ( I'm going to strip them and narrow them so fingers crossed they will be on there for E38 .... 2018 most probably. Its funny when you think about how rare some cars are unintentionally, I said to my partner that the Red VR6 Auto was way more rare than a Storm! he he Matt -
Can't believe how popular this has been! the 30 I ordered have gone bar 2. Let me know via PM if you want some and I'll order more today. Matt
-
Funny I was just thinking the same, its like dragon green one minute and aqua blue the next
-
2 reserved with your name on them, probably cost you more than 65p in petrol to fetch them!
-
Have you seen that "http://www.hemmings.com/hsx/stories/...rs_guide1.html" article .... Pic 13 the yellow G60 has no towing eye or exhaust, pic 12 has my nan's velour sofa in the back, pic 11 has the idiots guide to filling up the tank, pic 9 shows the brake disc covers (Probably because the American's were used to cars having drums up until the late 90's and didn't understand why there were these disc thingy's behind the wheels!) and Pic 1 .... where are the under dash pockets!!
-
I got told the same from the Stealers! Was surprised that TPS had them and could get them. Its even more funny when you read the bottom line of the receipt and it says "A wholly owned subsidiary of VOLKSWAGEN AG"
-
I'm really happy with them, nice amount of travel, not hit the bump stops yet and I do fast on the M4 (people might know that massive dip in the fast lane around Reading) and its not bottomed out. The handling is more confident (Especially with it still on the Solitudes) They look and feel well manufactured and definitely compare to the last set of Weitec coilovers I had a few yrs back.

Update - I ordered 30 and pick them up tomorrow. They are £2.00 for a pair posted. Please paypal me ([email protected]) with £2 as a gift and leave your postal address. (I'll get the wife to send them ; ) Sam let me know if you want a pair too. Sorry no more hijacking the post, everyone deal with my via PM. Matt
-
Correct part number. I'm not sure Sam is really bothered by the post hijack as after all his needs have been met  and his post could potentially help out a good number of his comrades . Without a post trending people wouldn't otherwise be drawn to it. I'll message the interested parties this morning once I've been to my local TPS. Be lucky and have a good day all. Matt

Swindon location but he does travel.... I'd recommend a mobile guy called Nick, he is an auto electrician but specialises in alarms, telephone stuff, audio and electrical repairs. I've had 3 Clifford alarms in the past done by him and on my first corrado he installed electronic micro switches on my A6 handle conversion. He's on the audi authorised supplier and fitter of trackers to Audi's (regular R8 work carried out) Call Nick on 07973 758911 and let him know Matt with the green corrado gave you his number.

Part number on the back of the switch out of my 1995 Storm is 525959565, FYI.
-
What have I started! I'll call tomorrow as I'm in the location. I'll let you know more in the morning. Matt

Wheres the best place to buy coilover kits these days?
Mr_Rossy replied to Peebee's topic in Drivetrain
I fitted AP coilovers after a number of recommendations on here and am really happy with them. Venom will price match the AP direct site if needed. £385 for VR6 from memory (it was only last month .....) -
Yeah I just called and they booked them out as cash sales. Your local stealers can also order from them for you. That said I'm really happy to buy some and pass them around if there is a demand, I'll go fetch 10 on Friday if people can add their names on this thread. (The price for 2 will be £1.35 plus 65p for stamp = £2 paypal gift) 1. Dude VR6 2.
