I've got the git insured as a classic for the princely sum of £230! I used to drive a 1.6 automatic(!) ashtray, but i felt like such a traitor! The only thing is I always see other corrados when i'm not in mine.

Normal water temp - HIGH oil temp. Is is safe to tune?
_Monkey replied to G60 Bob's topic in Engine Bay
My oil temp used to get all the way up to 155 at times. :onfire: Unfortunately that was shortly before my charger decided it needed a sunroof in it's own casing! The person who used to own it had bodged the oil pump with silicone!!! :nono: -
That's what i've got too, oil pumps are VERY important, you don't wanna be running out of the black stuff!

I wouldn't sell your c, they don't go for much round here!

I've only got one problem with my daily driver... Ive started to modify it! It's a slipery slope from here!
-
Sell it and buy a git! they're really fun to drive and IF ( :!: ) i'm nice to it i can see 45 to the gallon! Not bad for a £250, 150k car, just goes to show vw build the best cars!
-
I've been to the ring too, in my mates modded r32, 8.27 lap!! :!: Hopefully my raddo will make it next year as i had slight charger exploding problems this one! However i've lost it in the bin and now have a shiny new ihi turbo instaed!

Just thought i'd drop a note to say how wonderfull daily drivers are. For the past year i've had my raddo as a daily driver and have always been stressed out when things go wrong and i have to fix(bodge) things on the spot otherwise i can't go to work! However, recently it's been behaving itself so i've been able to bring another vw into the family in the shape of a rather shiny mk2 git. And i wish i'd done it years ago! Now i find my hands free to rip the corrado apart and i don't have to worry about putting it back together before monday morning! However, now i have a new problem as i feel the need to pull out the engine and turn it into a 1.9 300bhp monster over winter, but my bank manager has a different idea!

I gotta jabba cone filter on my g60, but the charger has given way to an ihi, do i still need to ditch the cone?
-
There you go- better living through a heavy right foot!
-
A fiver for a corrado like that? The amount of people trying to get at it, I recon he'd get his arm ripped off!!
-
I recon it's worth about a fiver, so save your time and keep the raddo!!

There's a guy on ebay that replaces bulbs for leds-i've already converted my dash to blue and they work pretty well. Might be worth contacting him, he trades under mchh_led_design. He can do all mk2 switchgear so he might be able to help.
-
Not sure if the bulbs come out, i've got the same problem and couldn't get the bulb out for love nor money, suppose i could always use a hammer!
-
Does anybody else notice the relation between venoms, and 'interesting modified' corrados? The last examples shown people using gull wing doors, fast and furious style graphics and, err... trees! :D

I had a quick burn up with a mkV in my turbo'd G60, it was bloody close, then some old coffin dodger pulled out causing me to use my brakes rather hard! I've managed to see off a standard r32, but my mates amd'd one still whups all over me!

Shopping? Who needs shopping when you've got a boot full of bass to vibrate your eyeballs! Top work on the install, gonna look well smart when it's done. 8)

I'm running an alpine 9815rb and it's a fantastic piece of kit, i paid £360 for it but it's about 2 years old now so it'll be well cheap! I've tried the rest and i always got noise through amplifiers, but the alpine's got built in suppressors, there's a lot going on behind the scenes on the high end alpines!

Hi, i need some advice; Ive just had a Toad Ai606 fitted to my '91 g60, all went well except the anti-hijack dosen't lock the car when driving, though it tries to unlock when i turn the engine off. So i called them back in to look at it and they said that the reason is because there was a safety device in the car that stops the alarm activating the central locking when the engine is running, in case of an accidint. :?: :!: Personally i think that it's b@ll@cks and i want to tell them so, but i just thought i'd check first. Any thoughts?

I was called "a bl**dy boy racer" yesterday in the
_Monkey replied to PoorMansPorsche's topic in General Car Chat
If someone calls my a boy racer, i simply reply 'yeah, what's your point?' No one has ever been able to reply to that. Besides, why should we care what a bunch of old coffin-dodgers think?! -
Cheers, it's a nice conversion to have, I've just put on a jetex system, and that makes a big difference, especially at top end, it now pulls like a train from 90-130(as a few drivers found out on the M5 sunday!). But the big upside about the conversion, is the potential for big power, Jabba recon over 300bhp is reliably achieveable with the setup, it does require a 1900 bottom end, but it's still a huge amount of power out of an 8v design that's now over 17 years old! 8)
-
I've just fitted a full jetex system, to my turbo'd g60, it's made a big increase in power, and it sounds sweet too!
-
Yeah mate, i'm well impressed with the conversion, definately the way to go if your charger is on the way out! As for the pistons, I'll more than likely need them, but i won't be doing that for a while, still trying to pay for the full jetex system that's just gone on! Right now i'm on standard injectors and i'm quite happy with the output, for now. But a front mounted intercooler is in the works you can really tell the difference when the air is denser.
-
yeah, but what's the mpg of the car towing you!!!
-
yeah, zero to tescos in 3.2sec!!
