Spotted a purple valver ( i think ) on the M4 about half an hour ago. Reg. was something like H 170?? You turned off at the A48(M) junction.... -
Scanned it with VAG-COM last night and brought the same fault as previously mentioned... - 0513 Engine Speed Sensor (No Signal) - 0515 Camshaft Sensor (Short To Positive) I'm sorting out 0515 this weekend hopefully, but what's the problem with the speed sensor? What is it and how is it sorted?

Nugget yellow valver (i think) parked on the driveway of a house on Cardiff Road in Newport. Spotted it on a few occasions... Anyone? -
Cheers mate! Much appreciated...

Tried ordering on of these through my local dealer, but he could not find it on the database... Is it called something else? Anyone have a part number?

This a common fault known to Nokia. There is a simple fix for this which does not require the software to be upgraded. I can PM you the details if you like as I can't really post it up on the forum...
-
V3.0546.2.3 18-11-05 RM-84 Apparently! :) You're currently running on the latest version of software. My advice to you would be to wait around for the next realease of software. More and more faults are software based now rather than mechanical or electrcal, so I'm pretty sure it's a software glitch. Nokia tend to release new versions quite often, especially for such a popular handset. I'll let you know when it's released...

Cheers Timo.... Oh well..... time to call on Mr. Visa again..

Is changing the CPS a simple job?
-
I have a garage, but I currently park it on the drive. Too much hassle in the mornings!! After the summer though, it's going to be a weekend car, so it'll be locked away then...
-
It started off only occuring whilst cold, now it's happening intermittently now matter how long I've been driving. I've not replaced the CPS yet as I really don't want to tell the missus I have to fork out even more... Especially when I showed her the bill after changing the leads nad coilpack!!
-
I've also started to notice a strange smell since the coilpack was fitted.. Sort of a burning plastic smell..... Could the new colipack be knackered?
-
Jim, what software version is yours running on?
-
What version of sofware is it running on? Enter *#0000# to find out...
-
I've got the exact same problem with my VR. I've changed changed the plugs the leads and the coilpack. I've also cleaned the ISV and the MAF. It drove fine for a couple of days and then started to misfire intermittently again. I've also noticed a funny smell from the engine bay since the coilpack was changed. Like burning plastic-cant see anything though... Hope you have better luck finding the fault than me!!

Spotted a red M plater yesterday in Ely Cardiff. You passed me as I pulled out of the Carphone Warehouse. Anyone here? -
Time to re-open this thread I think... Right, since last time, the following has ben done... 90K service + changed induction kit back to original air box- Drove really well for about 3 days, then the problem re-occured. Took car to VW specialist. He drove the car from cold and said I had an "intermittent mis-fire". Cleaned the MAF, ISV, changed the leads again, (better quality ones) and changed the colipack. (It was cracked). Again, the car drove like a dream for a couple of days, but the fault has come back yet again. I never thought I'd say this, but I'm really starting to dislike my rado!! The only thing I haven't done is replace the CPS. Please help!! Again....
