  1. You're right, its missing the side light indicator. If its the internals that go I'd say there is a fair chance the internals from a Polo headlight switch are the same, the rocker section is the same size, its the backing thats different because the Polo has the dimmer above instead of beside, so the moving internals may be swappable into a Corrado casing. :?
  2. Another thing, It may be possable to make a Corrado style headlight switch using the backing from a mk2 Golf switch (the mechanisim) and the switch cover from a Polo or Corrado, I should have all the bits at home so I will dismantle them and see if it will work.
  3. I think its got more to do with me being a bit of a Polo nerd than anything else
  4. Polo dash As you can see the Polo ones are the same but go side by side instead of on top of each other, The passat is the same as this too.
  5. Nope, the Polo ones are identical, right down to part numbers, they are the same orientation in the dash.
  6. At the weekend my G60 started playing up a bit, I think its a feature of the alarm that has somehow been switched on but I'm not sure. When I start the engine now the doors lock, the central locking pump runs for a while then stops for a few seconds, runs again then shuts off till the engine is stopped at which point it opens the doors again. The other change is that when it was armed it used to beep 3 times, now its only 1 for arm and two for disarm, the only change there was I replaced the interior light bulb, which brings another question, it does not switch off when the doors are closed no matter which position the switch is in, anyone know what is going on there?
  7. The fog light switch and heated rear sceen switch from a mk3 Polo (91 - 94) are the same switches as in the early Corrado's. Head light switch is different. Early 90's Passats have the same switches too.
  8. If you's introduced the insurance cert in the window system we have in Ireland that would help a lot would it not?
  9. What if you have a trade policy or a policy? The car itself is not insured but you are, how would that work??
  10. Ah sh1te, there's something I left out
  11. Things I have left to do after 2 weeks of Corrado ownership: Change the engine oil Change the gearbox oil Change the brake fluid Fix the interior light (replace the bulb) Replace the speaker covers / trim them in some way Fit a headunit Fit a new beesting mast Re-furbish / replace the wheels Flat & polish the paint Sort out the rubbish lights Get the charger rebuilt (again) On a longer term note, maybe a bare metal respray next summer (if I have the time)
  12. Sounds like they did not keep hold the brake pressure regulator in the "open" position while bleeding the brakes, so there will still be air in the system.] I'd be bleeding them again if I was you.
  13. Same as the polo part I posted above so :-P
  14. I've 8 * 17's and no rubbing, so I would have thought 7.5 * 17's would be fine, what tyre size do you have?
  15. I'm the opposite to the lot of you, My Corrado was bought as my daily hack to save racking up the miles in my G40
  16. Funny enough I found the exact same thing on my G60 last night when I was tightening up a few rattely bits of trim in that area 8) Its worthwhile checking that the boost return is fully closing at full throttle too.
  17. She would probably be right  It could explain why everyone thinks I am a bit of a nutter
  18. Ok just checked with both my G40 and G60, same part numbers which is 357 957 087 not sure what the late ones are, these are the early ones but seeing as Sandy has a G60 it'll be the early ones.
  19. Scrap yard, they are the same as in mk3 Polo's (91 - 94) so they are easily available, and cheaply.
  20. Any plastic can be painted quite well with the correct primer  The tricks you learn working in a coachbuilders can come in handy
  21. Do you mean the switch or the surround? Mine has a black switch, but its set into a beige sort of panel, thats the bit I meant you could re-trim or paint
  22. Lovely stuff, that should do it, thanks!
  23. Probably a very basic question, on a G60 gear box where are the drain and re-fill plugs, how much and what type of oil is best and what tools would I need?
  24. It could be re-trimmed using anthracite alcantara or dynamica with a foam scrim backing to make it soft, the sunroof switch suround could easily be covered in mb-lex (synthetic leather) or painted black (would work if done right). G40's and Golf GTI's had all black headlinings and they did not seem overly dark.
  25. Good point, I think I will leave mine well enough alone, either that or re-build it myself :?
