Well I've just washed, dried and polished mine in an hour and a half using: Meguiars NXT shampoo Meguiars Step 3 tech wax - comes off so easily! Fekin amazing - sooooo much better than the gold class stuff. Unbelievable shine on it now :) Nice rec Furk'z - can't see any point in doing any more than the above 2 steps.

depends on the wheel design mate. some look better in 16, some in 17. and the ride/handling issue is 100% down to your personal taste and requirements. try before you buy bud - its the only way!

lovely motor. get that k&n on mate! :)

Stealth re-chip - can I use any ron petrol with this?

yeah i read that mate. it also concluded that it was completely eratic as to what you get i think. with the vr i reckon it depends on the weather etc and what fuel you use -mine was havin it earlier and that was on 95 in the wet! mine tends to feel fine on most things at low to medium revs, and optimax feels better than anything else at high revs. -

i guess so mate. but i read a letter in evo from someone at a petrol company that said a whole areas shell petrol was supplied by bp! essex i think? and i think the only iso standards are for 95 and 98 ron?? wonder how double 99 stuff is tested. -
holy tornado thats a nice car.

well i've tried the tesco 99 stuff and thought it was poo compared to optimax. don't really know why we're all wasting our breath on the subject, because it's a fact that what you get aint necessarily what it says on the pump. you can be sold optimax by bp and bp fuel by shell etc etc. its all a nonsense! :) -
i've gone from 15 to 17 and certainly haven't noticed any significant difference in acceleration. i reckon thats in the mind more than anywhere. my vr's perfprmance differs by about 20% day to day anyway, so i'd never really be able to spot a few percent difference in gearing ;) surely making the back wider is only going to make cornering ability better?? i now have wider wheels, wider tyres (215 on rear) and a wider track (greater offset on new wheels) and all i can say is it grips and steers beautifully now. turn in and grip at the front is excellent. even in damp conditions its proved limpet like so far.

no sh*t sherlock! i know you were bud :)

cheers mate. are the clips the same in all rados you reckon? late/early, leather/cloth? there's about 5 down the local scrappy :)
-
nice one mate. that sounds exactly like it could be the same thing. the door cards are definately not secured properly on top near the pins. does yours stop if you push the card down securely??
-
yeah, not really sure about that comment. endearing? freak :)
-
you'd be dissapointed with mine then mate, cos mine doesn't rattle when the windows are down
-
don't think its the window mate. as i said, it stops if i push down on the top of the door card, so it sounds like its something around the lock button. who knows though - could be anything :)
-
cheers dude. will have a look. it does kind of sound like metal on metal but quite a dull sound - a bit like a bar knocking on something. ok wish me luck. door card virgin and its time to have a go!! :)
-
chris - would that metal rod come from the button area by any chance?
-
chrishill - thanks mate i'll have a look. davevr6 - not sure mate. i'll try it. have just remembered it seems to stop if i push down hard on the back top edge of the door card (around the lock button area)

Hi. My doors rattle like a 1970s diesel-engined peugeot and i'm wondering what it might be before i attempt to remove the door cards and have a looksey. Its definately inside the doors and i have a feeling its since the shop took the door cards off to fit new speakers. Any ideas? Many thanks Will

thanks bud. i'm going to go badgeless grille and eyebrow i think. it does look very 'modified' but i love that look. very mean. it might look a bit grey in the pics cos they're sh*t quality. i'll try to get some better ones up. as for the bother in my other posts mate - various things. got a rebuilt head to go on once it's been ported and polished, and big valves added. hopefully that should cure most of my problems. -
looks very nice without the vauxhall grille. tasty as....... would look lovely in black
-
or these (if it was lowered)........ ;)
-
de ja vu...... are these the ones you mean mate? look lovely imo. as do old school 5 spokes.
