  1. Ever since I got my 96 VR6 it have had a hot start problem - not always but most of the times, especially if one stop for fuling, or just to pick up some stuff from a shop, and then continue on the drive (restart within 10-25 minutes), never any errors with vag-com, changed different things including cam position sensor to no avail. Eventually I ended up buying a non return valve from ebay I hooked up to the fuel feed line (under the tank cover), and now this problem seem to be gone. (I have yet a bit more testing to do, but before I daily experienced long "crank" time when it was hot), but after the non return valve was put into place this problem seem to be gone - just thought I'd post this for other experiencing weired hot start problems :) (VW used to have a fix for this but sadly discontinued)
  2. I looked in etka while researching the same thing - to see if a pierburgs from my Passat VR6 would fit my Corrado VR6 - although I'm not 100% sure, (I'm 99.9% :) ) it seems the pierburgs pump I have in the Passat was replaced with a newer Part number (I think VDO) - but also the pump I have in the Corrado was replaced by that part number - so atleast the available pump today seem to replace both pierburgs and the older vdo. (I think current one available is still VDO though)....
  3. Do I need to push it down to twist or ? (and would it sit hard?)
  4. Tried to have a look at the Passat pump today - but can anyone tell be if the pump on the Corrado also sits down in the tank ? - and how do you get it out from there? - how is it fixes in position there?
  5. No guarantee - but yea that might help :)
  6. Yea - according to him it's all VDO actually - but anyway, is £70 an ok price ? (I guess up here is a bit more expensive then the UK (normally) but anyhow :) )....lol
  7. It should be the VDO pump - but as the add says it got a new sender and "housing"....so maybe that's the reason ?.
  8. Just saw a used golf-vento gti/VR6 VDO pump for sale localy for roughly £70 - any idea if this one is the same?: Pic of it:
  9. Then I presume the Piersburg from my 91 Passat VR6 would fit the Corrado ? Also any idea if these pumps where "better" ? (ie not having that "leaking back" issue they resolved with the non return valve ), as I think that's the problem with mine........ I guess I can't do any damage if trying to fit it either - the electrical connections seem to be the same atleast :)
  10. Ahh - so the sender etc will be different? (I presume the sender from the Passat won't be the same or?)
  11. Anyone know if I can take the fuel pump that sits in my VR6 estate Passat (1991 model) - model: Pierburg: 333 919 051 e and put it in my 1995 VR6 (with a VDO pump). Was the Pierburg models ever used in the Corrado VR6 ?
  12. Anyone could tell me what these are called in english: It's the ones you use to "lock" something in place while hammering them into a hole, where they will kinda "expand" to make a lock ?. (or however one would explain it).....lol
  13. Do you guys know if a VW Gamma from a Passat 2000 model had green display ??? (can't remember the color in that passat model...:( )
  14. Any of you have a picture (or could take a picture) of how the area around the pedals looks ? thnx
  15. Anyone got any tips on good speakers that will fit in the Corrado VR6 original "fitting"? I guess it's a pair of the following sizes: 4" (front) 5.25" (door) 4x6" rear Mostly after speakers that sounds good - not neceseraly most "punch/bas" :).....nice playing speaker....lol....:)
  16. Would a unit produced in 95 be only green or was there other options back then ?
  17. Might buy a VW Gamma radio - but it doesn't come with a radio-code, so do you guys know if VW can/will give out this code - based on the radio's serial number?.
  18. Anyone know if the fuel pump in the 1991-1994 Passat VR6 is the same fuel pump as the Corrado VR6 uses?. Also do all the Corrado VR6 use same pump - or did they do any "upgrades" along the line ?
  19. Just pulled a fuel pump from a 1.8 passat today, to see if it's the same as in my VR6 (I think it's the same) - but can't find any VW Number on it - anyone know where it would/should be located, or if it's any other way to tell if it's the same pump ?. VDO is stamped on it. ---------- Post added at 12:54 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:26 AM ---------- I was looking at what I suppose is the sending unit - but how would one remove the pump itself ?. It seem to be fixed/locked in place with 3 metal "plates" on 3 points with rubber on them. also anyone know if Bosch made any of the VR6 pumps (as this one seem to have a Bosch number on it....but hard to read before removing it completely). ---------- Post added at 1:53 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:54 PM ---------- Guess it won't fit - as it seem to have the bosch number of: 0 580 453 012 Anyone know it's specs ? - I presume it might be a 3.5 bar pump ? (Pulled from a 35i passat 1.8 112 hp)
  20. Do you know what coolant was on it before?. I think mine actually runs cooler now after I replaced the coolant with VW G13 - I think mine has some "Comma" coolant before....IIRC mine was around 100 before, but now sits closer to 85-90
  21. From a german site - this is the "fix" that was available from VW - but he didn't know the part-number, anyone in here seen it before ?:

    Relay 109

What is the symptoms of this relay going bad ? - as I have always had "warm start" problems with my Corrado - and haven't found the reason for it yet :(
  23. I think it's a "casing for fuel pump" - more info in this thread: http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=29284
