Hi all had a bit of a prang in my G and require a driver side wing and front bumper, but this bloody late spec early spec is doing my nut in. i have been told that my exterior is late spec, as in the wings are a bit wider and the bumper too along wiv the fogs sitting out flush wiv the bumper. where can i get hold of these parts and if possible can someone post comparison pics up please

Oil Pressure Problem - choices, choices, choices!

the buzzer my justbe you pressure swith so id get a replacment from gsf, and if the buzzer still comes on the pump may be weak or the you are due an oil change although i dnt knw why the buzzer would come of if the oil had thinned to much (and that a very long break between ur last oil change) them switchs are knwn to mess up mine failed in such that i had oil pouring out of it even though it looked ok id drive it to gsf buy thepart and change it there then fingers crossed problem solved -
checked my voltage today just to see what kind of reading i was getting showed 14.8 thereabouts when warmed up so i knw the ecu aint going into limp mode. after mesin around wiv various plugs including lambda and BTS she seems to be running ok i think. took the plugs out they were covered in black soot so that explained the poor starting cleaned them out blew them wiv an air gun and stuck em back in. started her up again she did on firts tun happydays, as i was walking aroung the car cleanin g bits and bobs while she was idling she sounded like she was gonna cough again did a little and i decided to just give a few blips of gas she cleared up thing is i have to use the car on a 200 odd mile round trip shall i just take it out and run her nice and esy on the motorway, of shal i have her checked up not sure what to do. oil leak had me sussed is it usual for an oil pressure swith to fail such that it lets oil stream out, have used a passat one for now will replace it wiv a g60 one or will it be ok if i leave the one i have on? thanks all

ok been messing around today sorted the oil leak turned out to be the oil pressure sensor. nicked one out of a passat my neighbour is gonna dump, so willhave to do for the mean time. i have been mesn around with the lambda being pluged our and BTS and with a combination of pissin about managed to et it running i think. when i rev it a couple of times it seems ok, but wen i rev it hard it seems as if it smokes a lil. have a few querys about adjustment of the co2 pot how do i do it and what reading shoud i be gettin out of it? could washing out the engine bay got moistur in places i can even think of? as the problemonly started after doing the wash. i have retimed it but upon plugin out the BTS the car idles normal should it not be looking to cut out? but when i had the timing strobe on the mark (fly wheel side) on normal idle the mark seemed bang on the marker and soon as i pluged the BTS back on it was a sort of bouncing idle as far as the TDC marker was concerned are ther any dangers in terms of damage if i decide to use the car as it is, have emailed gwerks to see if i can get her booked in for a full check up mechanically im ok i knw what im doing but electrics and i start falling apart need to concur that demon soon. sorry for such long post but im trying to get as uch nfo on here so that i can get a decnent diagnostic many thanks in advance

things i feel i need to check, av i missed anything? 1, Unplug Lambda ad run car 2, check BTS, what sort off reading should i get with a multimeter 3, Earthing 4, FPR, how would i check this? 5, Co2 Pot, how is this adjusted? ans what reading should the multimeter show? thanks in advance. why is the car running like normal when the BTS is unplugged shouldnt the car idle ilike its about to switch of when i do this, mines seems to run normal with it being unplugged

hi all had the car running sweet for a few days now until today that is, after rebuilding the engine iv done 1500 already and run in properly. today i decided to jet down the engine bay to get rid of the muck WOT A BAD MOVE, she started up fine after i dried the car and let the engine bay dry out in the baking heat, i removed the dizzy as a precation to clean out any condensation but it was ok the leads were dry as i took care not to drench the whole engine. any way got home and parked it up, was helping my mate fix his alda 156 snapped timing belt doh!!!! we decided to go get sumin to eat got in the g satrted fine but half way there it started missing like crazy then going smooth, followed by blackish smoke you could smell the damn fuel. got home and the miss got gradually worse, parked up checked everything again cleand the leads with air to get rid of any moiosture but they were ok i swapped them for another set i have, started the car and after a smooth start she was missing and puffing black smoke whats wrong??? chaged the blue temp sensor and no diffrence, but it seems to run idle better with it unplugged, a few blips of the throttle seems to produce smoke luked bluey white i thing at high revs, to it for a drive nice and smooth but clow as anything reconnect the blue temp still no diff it idles smooth for a bit then starts puffing black smoke, whats wrong with my G?????? im starting to regret g60 owneship i dnt think i can handle any more a full rebuild and still being a bitch what have i not checked? a point to make with the blue temp connected she misfire while driving but goes smooth till you back of the revs or try to hold a steady speed but seems to clear when giving it sum to top it off i ithinkl the rear crank seal has popped oil every where just greak a gearbox of job AGAIN

andy an more info on this big bore down pipe?, im looking for a in the middle of raw power and drivability iv got a full miltek system on it and the filter side of things iv removed the restrictor too, sounds more meaty now. i dnt fancy doing an open filter job as i feel open filters just soak heat to easy. best price i found for red tops was 120 quid, aint looked at the FMIC yet but will shoparound to see what i can find

yeah standard intercooler, just looking to see wht i can do, im on standard injectors tho how much did them red tops set you back? iv got a rallye ic but im gonna keep thet for my sc vr rallye dnt fancy robbin parts from there, i may have summin in terms of FMIC soon tho so ill keep you posted on wht it costs me

hey peeps engine has virtually been run in iv already clocked aound 600 miles onthe new engine seems to be bedding in nice, got a bit carried away on the way home from work today, gently crusin at 70 mph and some dude just wudnt stop buggin me in his corrado valver, really ticked me of even after cumin into the slow lane so i just had to floor her blimey shes quick but not quick enuf i want more power seems to lag till about 3k what can i do to get some more go lower down the rev range. she topped out well i backed of as i hit 140 at the moment its a stage 4 jabba charger and gwerks eprom plus a and 68mm pulley darren if your reading this what would you advice let her run in before i start tinkring about with it?? ps. peeps i dnt seem to have any interiro lights and the oddo resets each time i turn the ignition on, plus nothing displays on the display till ignition is i click before starter engaging have i missed a wire or summin?

hi all for some reason my wipers are really slow, and most of the time today they refused to work they went up and got stuck till i flicked throught he settings and got them to rest position. rear wiper is fine works sweet as. battrey is ok and alternator seems fine. could it be relay?or is the motor trying to tell me its had enough?

finished rebuilding my G60 but have uncovered a few niggly problems 1, the odo meter resets its self when the car ignition is turned off and it seems the display only comes on when the car is started. there is no display when the ignition is turned off 2, the fuel gauge is being a a pain it dose not show full tankwhen topped up it goes half way then drops to zero, till there is only a quater tank of fuel left then it rises 3, my interior lights seems to have vanished. i am going to have a poe around the car to see if i can trouble shoot but though i might aswell post on here so i have summin to read and compare when i get back Many thanks in advance -
col dnt realise it makes the dump valve type sound might just have to do it for a bit till i get bored of it hahaha. my main reasoning behind doing this was to declutter the bay a lil along with a fw other bits, and to eliminate the heated air from circulating the system. :)

Hi all i have been toying with a few ideas for the boost return. how can i get rid of it and what effects are likely if i do. i have been thinking about an oil catch tank between the breather and boost return is this worth it? having rebuilt the engine is it worth getting rid of the boost return pipework? thanks in advance

problem solved after shocking my self a couple of time whilst working out which cylinder was causing the messed idle and performance it turned out number one injetor wire had a cut leading to poor signal and injector malfunction, now fixed off to get the co2 set right tomo.... -

could it be just because of that, smells like the car is overfueling....wot symptoms would that show? -
timing is spot on. but the car is being weird it seems to idle lumpy and sounds like its missing, soon as i throttle up it misses then smoothes out. when i let go of the throttle its fine for a few seconds then it goes back to missing....what have i done wrong or wot have i overlooked? plz help as i wana gether back on the road asap

Hi guys as you many know from my other posts i have rebuilt the engine on the g, turned her over and she started first time no problems, at this point i did not have all the sc pipe work hooked up and just let her ideal till she went thru a few cooling cycles.....i thought wicked alls well until the thermo stat packed in......taken it out for now as the engine is gonna be hot while running in even more so due to the tighter tolrances of the new parts. got it timmied up via the usual method, connected all the pipweork let the car warm up then disconnected the blue temp sensor and got it timed according to fly wheel mark (0) reconected the sensor and seemed ok till i decided to give it a few blips of the throttle.....low and behold on one of the blips i got back fire....it dnt do it all the time but presistant blips will induce back fire????wot have i not done right??? another problem is the water flage on the side of the head after running it seems the pressure seems to be escaping from here, causing the expansion tank to bubble up. i took it of cleaned it checked the seal which was ok, used instant gasket as extre precaution and now the water seems to seepin out of one of the bolt holes????....has any one got a pic of which way the flange goes on? asone side seems diff to the other. i am going to order a new one as i think the bras insetrs are to loose i pused them our wiv my hand is that normal? dad reckons i should fix the water leak and just run the car in till everything beds in and then start to worry about fine tunning, he also sugested if the cars pinking on initial throtle its ok it will let the car rn a bit cooler....i knw that ok but how dose this effect the g60? never had one of these, did this on my valver it ran ok wiv out any problems
