Mine was a 1.1 Renault 5 something, 45 bhp - top whack was 105mph down the hill to J3 on the M40! Pfft, my mates Metro 1.1 did 110mph. But my god wasn't it scary :lol: Ah the GTS did 115-120mph on the flat (the only time I found a flat bit long enough!) mind you I had to pull over and let it cool down afterwards ;) Yes very scary! Almost as scary as 100 in a split-screen!

This will sound really manky but best "Winter rust inhibitor" I found was Used engine oil sprayed on and leaft to "Dry" for a day or so.... Did this to the floorpan of my Notch... It was so low that if I'd used a "Normal" waxoyl etc it'd just scrape it off, so just re-applied every month or so over the "Salty months"... Worked a treat... Come spring just jetwashed it off (that made me popular with the Garage!) and all was good... I guess it's a case of once you have them freed off just keep on top of them! (maybe Vasoline would help? Stop the crud getting to the threds? Another Air-cooled winter trick, this time on polished alloys... they looked mank when you do it but protects the alloys from salt...maybe it'll work on your coilies?)

If they see you have insurance already with a company, odds on they are brokers for the same company and then it's a matter of dropping their "Cut"... A lot of "Big" name brokers will just aim for the Avaerge drivers IE 25+ 3+yrs NCB, no convictione etc... as these will give the least hassle looking for cover and better margins...
