Got 44mpg in the G60 once. Lowest was 8mpg whilst stick in traffic. 120 degrees was the highest engine temp IIRC.

Is the reason the rado is not a preferred option for track cars the cost and availability of panels and some parts?
-
I hear what you're saying matey but it's 90% rush hour traffic and the G60 just drinks petrol (always optimax). At this moment in time, £600 is a lot of money. I've always wanted a VR and will most likely get another Rado someday but at the mo, the G must go and be replaced with a sensible mo fo!

Wear the lovely plastic gloves at the petrol station!!

Good input guys, thanks. I do want to be able to overtake people when required without having to have a 4 mile clear straight ahead of me! LOL

Question for all here. Looking for personal experience and facts and figures if possible. I know that diesel engines give better fuel economy, but what size of petrol engined car would yo have to buy to get similar returns per tank of fuel? I'm asking cause when I sell the rado, I want to replace it with something a bit more sensible from a fuel point of view. However, I would like it to be able to pull the skin of custard unlike my fiance's 1.4l MK5 Golf and give decent mpg. I'm thinking Passat or A3/4 diesels or petrol equivelant??? I do about 10k a year going to work etc and about 2k privately p/a. Any suggestions?

No Henny, you.... you haven't installed a Barbera Striesand album onto your HD head unit have you????? lol

Awesome results mate! I've used a mate's Porter Cable and it was very good, not adjustable speed though.
-
Have you checked the fuse matey?
-
What year is your G60 mate? My 92 G60 passed it's mot fine and it's got no cat on it and some engine work done to it. Cars after 92 (or mid 92) are subject to tighter emissions tests but can have the cat removed as long as they pass IIRC.

Not yet matey, too lazy. Got the finger out now though so hopefully it'll be gone soon. Go on. Buy it. You know you want to!

A little update. Car hadn't been washed in a while or polished for that matter so looked a bit grubby. Got a loan of a friend's porter cable and biought some meguires polish and wax and attacked her this weekend. Soon to be for sale!!

Good shout Rodders! As always Nathan, top results after a hard shift from yourself.

Henny, what on earth do you mean? I would never do that! (cough)

Although built in Germany doesn't nesecarrily (sp) mean it's from a German manufacturer.

I've seen my fair share of MKIV Golfs with Bora front ends in magazines and at shows etc, but never ever seen it the other way around. Well yesterday on my way to work I spotted a Bora with a MKIV Golf front end on it. Looked bloody weird! Didn't get a pic as I was driving at the time. Anyone else ever seen one of these?

Older Audi's matey IIRC. Not 100% waht model though.

Speaking from personal experience I wouldn't use them. I had 2 tyres sitting in my garage on alloys that were only 2 months old before sitting for a couple of years. The rubber had hardened and made for some scary back end out action at very low speeds. 2 new tyres solved that little problem. HTH
