1. Have a rolling shell over in Herefordshire area.
2. Ooh Corrado friend. There's mine and at least another here in Stratford Upon Avon
3. Spotted green one on Saturday in Stratford Upon Avon, some nice carbon bits fitted Not sure if I spotted it again but saw another green one parked up near Tesco's in town
4. just tried to get one myself but the delivery cost were just stupid at around €37, what did you do to get a reasonable price for P&P?
5. Top of the text box click "insert image", looks like a tree icon, then either from computer or link, if from computer, find the file and then just underneath the file click upload files. I haven't worked out how to do multiple pics in one go though. Hope that helps
6. If you fancy a go: 1 x Left polo hub carrier - 6N0501117 and 1 x Right hub carrier - 6N0501118 (from 6N 1998 - 2002) 2 x hub bearings (5 stud) 6Q0598611, VKBA3567, R15731, 713610490, VKBA 3567 ( from polo 9N 2003 - 2009) 2 x 280x22mm vented discs (mine are from a 1.8 16v Toledo but lots of other VAG cars use these) 2 x Calipers and carriers suited to vented brakes (mine are from a Seat VRS, but lots of other VAG cars use these) 2 x carrier brackets - beskoke 2 x ABS adaptor shims - bespoke 2 x ABS sensors (if you cant get the old ones out in one piece Mockup. All installed If interested I could get a batch of the bespoke parts needed for the conversion made up but would need to understand interest and numbers in order to get a quote. I would imaging price for the bits to be between £40 and £80. There are other ways to do a similar conversion such as using lupo rear brake carriers but these would offset the rears (make them stick out the arc more) and I don't think it allows for vented rears. This conversion in my opinion is the closest to OEM you can get.
7. Still havent taken interior pictures but I'll make up for it by showing my latest upgrade Vented 280mm rear discs with catridge bearings. 1 x Left polo hub carrier - 6N0501117 and 1 x Right hub carrier - 6N0501118 (from 6N 1998 - 2002) 2 x Hub bearings (5 stud) 6Q0598611, VKBA3567, R15731, 713610490, VKBA 3567 ( from polo 9N 2003 - 2009) 2 x 280x22mm vented discs (mine are from a 1.8 16v Toledo but lots of other VAG cars use these) 2 x Calipers and carriers suited to vented brakes (mine are from a Seat VRS, but lots of other VAG cars use these) 2 x Carrier brackets - beskoke 2 x ABS adaptor shims - bespoke 2 x ABS sensors (if you cant get the old ones out in one piece Full rebuild of the calipers and carriers Polo hub carrier fitted Polo Hub fitted with adaptor shim (pressed on, old polo magnet ring tapped off) ABS ring to be fitted onto adapter shim (polo hub diameter is just a little bit too small) Hub fitted to hub carrier All assembled (due to the brake pads only sweeping the outside edge of the disk I painted the inner areas to help avoid rust. May be its just sub-conscious and having bled the brakes with fresh fluid might have helped but for sure these look much better behind the wheels. 8. Don't really have any recent shots, no major change since last pictures, just dont know if they were under the old Photobucket account and cant be seen in this thread. I am off to a show at the end of the month so will take some then for you. Trying to convince my missus to do a shoot on my car.
9. Lws made them. Sadly he's not trading anymore
10. Don't have pics of the gruven part fitted but copied it from dragon greens solution here... http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?88088-Gruven-parts-bonnet-clip&highlight=Gruven+clip
11. Picked out some pictures of the Corrado at Diva Dubs and Rods this month..
12. Bonnet cable clip had broken again so after going through several of these I decided to bite the bullet and fit a gruven item. Sadly its designed for a LHD car but is adaptable to work on RHD, not ideal. With hindsight I would have made something myself. Also, mini project that I shelved a while back...vented 280mm with cartridge bearings! Seem to work off the car so next is to finish the caliper and carrier refurbish and stick it on the car. I know its ott for a fwd but what can you do. They use a combination of parts from the polo parts bin, some bespoke brackets and shims. If this all works out I might consider making more bits for you lot ;-)
13. I still personally prefer the forum, lots of archived details to find info about, great projects but as swiftkid said, bloody Photobucket have screwed things up! Not just CF but others as Ive often followed a link via google and found a project to be unreadable due to the images being "lost". I've go links to many facebook groups but mostly see the same topics over and over. Good way to see new projects and maybe find out about local events. I do remember CF doing something similar to facebook with a "posts" page, not sure if it still does but I never got into it. Funny enough I do recently see myself coming on here more often recently (still not as frequently) but not sure if its just me or how facebook and social media is
14. I'm upgrading mine to polo spec at some point, how soon would you need these by? Only swapping as going 280mm rear so mine are in good condition with low mileage bearings and brakes if your also needing these. I think some early 8v's didnt have ABS but pretty rare.
15. Priced too high? Happy to take sensible offers.
16. Just fitted a CF boot to mine and had thought I would keep the original one as a spare just in case but realized it takes too much space. Its a unique colour so wont match any others out there. Couple of rust spots but easy to correct when painting to match your car. Comes with glass and has the wiper hole welded over. £40 Also have a spare spoiler, £30 Collection from CV37 Stratford Upon Avon area preferred, but may be able to arrange drop of if local and fuel costs covered.
17. PITA, so just got rid and fitted alarm LED's on the door cards.
18. After my third cable failing (all of which were new OEM). I've decided to get the gruven part as each time they broke on the clip and I'm unsure if the landrover part is any more reliable. Might update the cable though. Nice one!
19. ha ha, "doesn't matter what condition just as long as mint or as close as mint". I think I have one but it definitely isn't mint. So which is it "doesnt matter" or "mint".
20. Cant say much for the Volvo as havent ever had one but love the style of it. My A4 Avant (2.0 tdi) has been the best car I have ever bought. Never really had an issue even though the engine code suggests its the worse of the lot. Now at 240k and still going well. However, I think I was lucky with this one but it has given me hope for the VAG stable (unlike my missus' vw mk5, what a crock of **** that is).
21. I watched this as was a little disappointed tbh They picked a guy to help restore the car but turned out that he had already don't all the work (plus he had a decent garage setup). For Ed to pop in and do a few bits left me a bit bitter. Car SOS was a similar theme but was much better in my opinion.
22. Never mind, finally found something. Only problem my link rod has a real hard foul with the pneumatic pump, to the point I cant attach both ends, confused!
23. Just got back to re fitting the boot bits and I cant work out how the mechanical link fits between the release button and the latch. I think I have the pneumatic actuator connected correctly. Does anyone have a photo or schematic for me to use as reference? I've tried google but nothing useful has resulted. Cheers
24. Bonded the bit to the boot, just hope it is reliable. All that hard work and this is what you can see!! Well, I did it for my own pride, not for the style. Only issue is that the boot isn't quite the same geometry as the metal one so the lock isn't latching perfectly so need to do some fetling on the striker I think. The whole swap to carbon boot has not been easy. Lots of tweaks and bits needing doing to allowing the boot to be like OEM (trim fitted, lock working etc, rear plynth fitted). Not something I want to repeat. Price of being maybe the only one in the world? Bonded the fixings for the release button and have most of the trim fitted. Job tomorrow is refit the lock linkage and try to bond the glass in. And a good vacuum/clean on the weekend. Anyone heading to Stratford Upon Avon motor show this weekend?
25. Ok, so I initially thought about cutting off the part from a metal tailgate but I couldn't live with the fact of having a nice CF boot and a "short cut" solution so I tried making it out of CF instead. Very first time working with CF (and Fibreglass too really) and the outcome wasnt terrible... Mould making Outcome (including M8 threaded inserts) Needs a good polish but I'm happy with the outcome (especially when it wont be seen with all the boot trim). If I were to do it again I would spend more time making sure the air bubbles are out, wouldn't make the hole on the back (not sure why VW needed this massive hole). Hoping to bond this item to the boot tonight, just hope all the measurements are good and the latch works properly. On a separate note, does anyone know where I can buy a chrome striker for the boot? Think I found a chrome boot mech just cant find the pin/striker.
