it`s the only way really, after all the grief in getting the old one out and then sticking the `new` lump in for it to fail shortly afterwards would be a right arseache

gaz the geezer replied to -Neil-'s topic in General Car Chat
............ unless they ride a bmw .............usually a miserable bunch of bleeders .................... i`ve lost count of the times i`ve been blanked by a biker on a bmw as i pass the other way on my obviously `inferior` jap machine :) -
excellent job that mate :thumbleft: ............... just goes to show what can be achieved with a bit of thought and a lot of elbow grease 8)
-
ffs ...... thats crap mate, after all that workmanship thats gone into getting them refurbed only for some gimp to feck them in a moment, i`d be right p*ssed off about that mate ... :bad-words:

Urgent- gears sticking, especially third :-(
gaz the geezer replied to CazzaVR's topic in Drivetrain
are you sure the clutch is ok Cazza16v, does it engage and disengage correctly and have you checked the gear lever mech under the leather gaitor inside the car ?, sometimes the circlip on the shaft that goes from side to side becomes dislodged and makes gear engagement difficult -
off to the side slightly ................. how are these badges coming on Jim, 8)

i seem to remember that you may well have to swop the headlight adjusters off your original lamps to go on the angel eye set up .......... if i`m wrong i`ll expect someone will shout up and correct me :)

Not the best morning.....UPDATED 07/09/06 (TWICE!!)
gaz the geezer replied to BigTartanJudge's topic in General Car Chat
of course it is mate, if you gave up now then youve wasted the last couple of years really, i know that life can be trying at times mate but you just gotta hang on in there mate ........ it sounds crap i know but you got to look for the silver lining mate or you`ll end up blowing a `mental ` gasket, i`ve seen it a few times over the years .......... anyhow, if you ditch the corrado you`ll only end up with another set of problems with something else as you look like the sort of bloke that wouldnt leave feck all standard on whatever car you owned so dont let the feckers grind you down mate :thumbleft: -
....... tbh Henny, i cant see whats stopping you, what with your `tech` head :robot: and matey`s spanner ability 8) , i reckon you should just get on and get it done fella :thumbleft: , looking forward to seeing this project elvolve

........ prices are all over the place dobbiej, ( welcome to the forum mate :thumb right: ), i`ve seen a couple low mileage numbers go for something in the £9k range but bargains can be had in the £3800 + range

Phil K's old C and others - new German Coupe!
gaz the geezer replied to Phil K's topic in Members Gallery
they look ok Phil K, i think quite a few c owners have more than one set of wheels hanging about for those times when a change seems to be in order, i preferred your previous wheels tbh, when you buy a set of wheels like the ones you have now is that they look `directional`, one side of the car will have the right look but the other side looks as if they are facing the wrong way .......... if that makes any sense :) -
i`m sure i`m right in saying they are still available from vw, i cant remembre the exact price but they arent cheap
-
....... sounds like i just need to leave the missus at home or she can take her own car  i`ll pop into halfords later and have a mooch, cheers coolrado, :thumbleft:

Dont have to sell the G! HOW GOOD
gaz the geezer replied to iow_corrado_g60's topic in General Car Chat
good news mate :thumbleft: , i was wondering what was happening to your corrado, good old dad eh ! ........... not so sure i could regress to a fester after having a corrado tho :) , better than feck all i quess, you can always turn it into a `shed` when you`ve done with it .... just like veedubg60 did with a corsa 8) , good news andy -
lovely, i`ve just come into possesion of a std suspended vr and that `scrapes the clouds` as it goes along .........
-
nice one chris, whatever info you get i`ll pass it on to big chris :thumbleft: ..... sounds like the russek manual, well priced little item thats got to be more fun than sitting in a car park revving the cobs off the `old girl` :)
-
good move fella, let us know how you get on :thumbleft:
-
......... yeah, it will be for my laddo but i`ll have to be content with the inside of me garage for a little longer yet :(
-
basically, there is no untoward knocking or poping, virtually zero crankcase compression, the car has been seriously under driven by the previous owner ( been left idle for 6 months ) who apparently drove like `miss daisy `, it`s going to need a quick oil flush and additional oil change to free up the lifters and a good blast up the road to get the `cobwebs out`, it may well benefit from a new fuel filter and a check on the co emissions but nothing major had showed itself, it`s a pukka car stan ....... my car is a dizzy too
-
yeah, no problems mate, i`m working local for a change in the heart of southampton if you fancy popping along, i`ll pm you me moby number :thumbleft:
