Yeah, I know that feeling all too well! ;) my car came with a spare sunroof 'cos the original was broke and scratched (which broke within 3 months of fitting! ) hence why after the 2nd replacement broke I bought the moonroof.... I originally wanted a 16V until I test drove a G60, from then on I was hooked and didn't want anything other than a G60! I even test drove some VR6s and didn't find the "kick" that I experienced from the G60s.... *before I get flamed all over the place, this was just my personal opinion and what I wanted from my Corrado! * The VR6 is a great car, just not what I wanted!

I just hope I never catch anyone doing anything to my C... I have a feeling if I got caught catching them, I'd get sent down for rather a long time... ;)

if your G60 has a ___----___ shaped bonnet, then it already should have the same bumpers as a VR6. If your G60 has a ----___---- shaped bonnet, then VR6 bumpers will still fit, but you'll need the VR6 fogs and indicators unless you want to modify it to get the earlier ones to fit... 8) All 'rado bumpers are the same width, it's just a trim line and the mounts for the indicators/fogs that changed.... 8)

Try it in a VERY DIRTY pinkish red H plate Golf Driver... The amount of people who look SERIOUSLY annoyed that I dare to overtake them is sooooooo funny! The only problem I get is when they try to re-overtake me..... I've run out of speed!

Welcome to the joys of forced induction... :D 8) 8) That noise is the lovely induction ROAR that G60s produce... I'd bet that someone's taken the snorkel out of the airbox to aid breathing... 8) The roof lining makes a hell of a difference to the overall noise level in a car... It's the only thing between you and a panel that's got just about as much airflow over it as you have on any part of the car! It's actually the airgap in between the lining and the roof panel that makes the difference. The roof will vibrate slightly which will be damped almost to nothing by the roof liner... without it the vibrations affect the whole of the air in the car making it much louder... 8)

how about putting some amber bulbs in? That way you've got double the amount of orange filters before it hits the red... Dunno if it'll make a difference, but it's gotta be worth a try... 8)

That's for the strap... The motor is part of the mechanism and can't be bought seperately IIRC... :?
-
Yeah, the engine speed sensor tells the ECU how fast the engine is turning... Engine not running = no signal!  Don't panic! 8)

Check the main Battery earth strap. It runs between the battery and the chassis (it also then bolts onto the gearbox!) I'll bet that it's geen and nasty! When it oxidises (goes green!) it becomes resistive so nothing in your car will get a full 12V any more to any electrical circuits, hence slow motors, dull lights etc... VAG still sell 'em and they're about £25 IIRC... 8) *edited a typo*

yeah, 80mm is do-able... When I first fitted my coilovers it dropped around 100mm! If it's the same as the Golf -80mm kit that Dubwhizz had on his G60 golf, the ride quality is suprisingly good too, and the handling's pretty good as well... 8) Personally I'm not into the whole low as you can go thing, (getting old these days! ;) )but this is probably the kit I'd get if I didn't have coilovers and wanted to go that low.... 8)

According to that site, my old Tornado red Corrado 16V that I wrote off and scrapped 4 years ago is now Grey and was last sold on the 20th August 2003! If anyone's got a grey 1990 16V H177HKC, check the details very carefully... Nice van by the way... Bet it pulls well with that amount of torque! 8)

Well, guess what I've just spent a couple hours doing this morning at a local VW breakers?!?  Yup, I'm now the proud owner of a Passat moonroof! 8) And the best bit? I also got 4 lock mech covers, the interior sunroof trim and the sun visor for over the rear view mirror off the 30K mile car for a sum total of...... £40! 8) :D

sounds like someone's already had a problem with the ISV before if the pipes were cable tied! Follow the instructions on the carb cleaner, after all, that's what you're using it for! ;) If you had a leak due to the cable ties, then this may well have affected your idle adversely... See what happens when you've dried out the ISV and replaced it and the jubilees... 8) I have a feeling you may well need to re-set the idle speed, but this is not difficult either... Do a search for "G60 AND idle AND setting" and you should find how to re-set the idle speed if you need to.... 8)

ISV sits on top of the rocker cover and has 2 rubber pipes attached to it as well as a black (IIRC) electrical connector at one end. It's a cylinder shaped thing about an inch and a half thick and about 3 inches long... Just undo the pipes and electrical connetor and give it a squirt with brake cleaner to get the gunk out of it... Let it dry out, and then re-attach to see if that cures it... 8)

hey, don't knock it... I fitted a newly fixed complete sunroof to my C just after I bought it, and about a week before the engine let go, this bit fell out of it meaning that this one's broken too! Moonroof time for mine! 8) At least they found it now before the'd put it all together and you'd left feeling happy...
-
Dead ISV? Do a search for ISV and I think you'll find the cause of your problems 8)
-
sounds like just the kinda place you want to be taking it too then... 8)
-
any more than that and they're taking the Micky... I did it myself having no idea what I was doing in under 4 hours, so pros should be able to do it in around that sort of time too... 8)
-
Nope... not that I've ever heard about anyway... :? You may be able to use a passat front one with a lock mech too, but I dunno if it'll fit OK or not...

It's a company in Stoke on trent called Top Marques... I haven't got the number here at home, it's at work... :| I'l post it up tomorrow, or you could look it up on BT's page... 8)

Let her take one for a test drive, and make sure you know the road well, they're a "bit lively" on the rear end if you let off the power while cornering... Some people love that, some people brick it and wrap it around the nearest tree....  Lots of nice sweeping corners with plenty off run-off ground is what you want during a test run so you can work out if she's good enough a driver to have/want one or not... I know that I couldn't handle one 'cos I have practically no RWD driving experience and wouldn't want to risk it! 8) :? I also know a lot of people (quite a few of 'em female) who test drove one around where I live and went right off 'em for exactly the reason above... :| Great cars if that's the kind of handling/fun you want, otherwise, be careful!

I'd bet more than that, but I'm skint at the moment...   If you really want to get it off in one piece, undo the top screws and get a heat gun on the lower for a good few minutes to soften up the sticky stuff they use... I've yet to get one off intact, but someone's got to manage it at some point soon!

I'd give it less than 5 years before the "Golf" hits 2000kg... :| It's safety gone mad... Put extra strength here, and there, and there and there, and... IT'S A TANK!!!!   Oh, and it's clad in soft plastic in case you hit a pedestrian... THE Golf (ie the MKI) has more in common with today's LUPO than today's (MK IV / V) Golf... Compare the sizes and it'll scare you how close they are... The current Golf is bigger than the size a Passat hatchback would have been when the MKI was around! :| Bigger is not always better IMHO... :?
