  1. Yep, very, very nice wheels. Not heard of them before.
  2. You mean between junctions 17 and 18 of the M4, you were in a MkI Golf eating a BK and the Corrado was a green Storm with red rear tints? Nope, wasn't me either... sorry. (Although I was between junctions 23 and 24 of the M1 in an orange and purple polka dot Datsun Sunny, taking pictures of a yellow Volvo convertible with chrome tractor wheels and an interior trimmed with cat skin. See pictures at http://www.does-your-love-only-come-in-a-volvo.com )
  3. And the Corrado featured is currently for sale on Ebay. Looks good. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1990-Volkswagen-C ... .m14.l1318
  4. Whilst we're in the area - and is it the case that only the MkI and MkII Golfs have Corrado compatible seats?
  5. Am I right in thinking that the difference between early and late model interiors is only down to the door cards? So the front/back seat fitment an early C are the same as a late model? (I have checked 'search' but can't seem to find a definitive answer...) Thanks.
  6. Andy665 What would you advise is the best way to prep a car before polishing/waxing? (By the way, did you manage to sell those alloys you were advertising a few months ago? Thanks
  7. Didn't keep that long, then - http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/410530.htm - It does look good in the sun. You could have at least offered me the wheels first, though... :)
  8. As a wise Englishman once said: 'Never keep up with the Joneses. Drag them down to your level. It's cheaper.'
  9. Looks lovely. I'm sure this was advertised on here ages ago, before Christmas, with a broken grille, and when I asked how it had happened, the owner said it'd had a slight front bump but had been repaired by Jimmi. But Jimmi certainly seems to know his stuff when it comes to repairs. Love those wheels too.
  10. Well, I think that's just as you should pitch it; the truth as you know it is enough. (Although you may be surprised to learn that you are not saying anything that the woman doesn't already know, deep down.) But still, sometimes it's definitely better to put a truth on record than leave it unsaid.
  11. Thanks for that link; the photos are higher resolution than my hotmail link, so better to save. And you've got to give it to American bloggers: they do give good comment... http://jalopnik.com/360844/volvo-rod-a- [b:2qgopp4o]

  13. Yep, good points, as it's difficult not to agreed that the charge should be tempered with common sense and some form of fare usage policy for businesses, but... the idea that Porsche is not indulging in the most blatant and self serving profit protection and that they give a tupenny damn about congestion or pollution is laughable. And they dare to potray it as anything else, and as some kind of citizens charter. Bunch of lying swines. Their behind-the-scenes lobbying obviously did not pay off. They must regret the leaving of Backhand Tony. In fact, come to think of it, everyone driving a Porsche into London should be charged double. Especially if its silver. And triple for Clarkson because of the size of his head.
  14. So it became a Reliant Robin... Amazing then that it was up recently for £2600 when you sold it for scrap over four years ago... .
  15. I love your persistance with the colour call. Yep, there seems to be a lot of Omerta surrounding this car. .
  16. Bloody hell - worms, can of, open. That link makes for interesting reading, especially when one member says the rather ominous, 'Oh... it's back...' And, like you say, several members knew the car but where reluctant to publicly air their views (probably for the sake of the new owner). It had sold by the time I rang, but a couple of forum members had already kindly agreed to do a pre-sale view so the story probably would have come out anyway. That's the beauty of the forum.
  17. This the one? - viewtopic.php?f=11&t=61464 He seemed happy with it at the time and as he says in the thread - 'I knew this car would have a few problems, and to be honest that’s why I bought it! If I wanted a trouble free lifeless car I would have got a loan and got an Audi tt!' - so he's hardly in a position to use any problems as a reason to keep your £80. Love the outright lie in his Pistonheads ad - 'The car has never let me down'. Looks like you'll have to chalk this one up to experience and be thankful that your trusting nature only cost you a relatively small amount.
  18. As the plate is visible - L367 XGB - easy to see why you could correctly id it as yours (as opposed to when we just see a car that looks like it might be one of our old ones). Dusty mauve was only on the Campaigns, though, so could have been resprayed because this was advertised as a 2.0 16v. Do you mean Stan 24v? In the recent sale ad that I saw for this car, it said it had about 94k with FSH, which means only 14k done in the last four and a half years... .
  19. It might help if you say where you are, then someone could recommend a garage nearby.
  20. Twilight pearl violet it is,then. And not to be mistaken for this colour... which is twatlight hurl violent .
