Definitely cleaning the ISV tonight, must get round to buying replacement clips for the hoses I'll have to remove first. Kev - terrific feedback - MUCH appreciated. ...as if I haven't already done this! Thanks anyway, but I spent hour after hour digging and searching, so thought I'd need to use some piccies to help. I am and always will be careful about searching first.

C wouldn't start at all yesterday afternoon. I took off HT leads WD40 and replaced and started straight away, Is this luck or may I have had a dodgy connection causing my symptoms?
-
I put my ear next to it and am fairly sure - is there anything immediately in that vicinity that may also buzz? Kev, whilst I have your attention, what's wrong with my car please? It randomly stalls when I dip the clutch (to switch to neutral) or stop. I am fairly sure it may be the ISV, but haven't got any replacement clips for the hoses I;ll need to replace when I've cleaned it. What else do you think ! I VERY much value your opinion. Where should I start looking next? Also, which tyres shall I replace my GY F1s with nowadays - the tyre thread goes on and on and on... Much valued replies when you get a chance :)

Could this be the cause of my stalling?

When my car occasionally stalls/cuts out, this part continues to make a buzzing sound. Can you experts please tell me what this part is and what to do about the slightly frayed hose please?
-
As predicted, the problem has returned. Have to clean the ISV today.

I just went out in the C to try to repeat the symptom. Sod's Law. No stall/cut-out at all and I gave her some welly too. I did notice the light was gone in my glovebox though :)
-
I will give this a go today. Not sure if it will fix my niggly problem though :(

Hey, don't apologize - I need all the help I can get. Do I need any special tools or anything to get on with this job safely?
-
Keep it coming folks :) MAF - I will remove & clean tomorrow. ISV - Can I clean this myself? Where is it situated please?
-
I know nothing about engines - where is the MAF please? Thanks for all this help already - keep going though!

Long time - no see. Hi to all once again. Recently, my C has developed the stalling/cutting out issue experienced by many. I suspect the ISV, which I need to know how to replace given I know nothing about engine mending! I only guess this due to my extensive forum reading this morning. However, when I lifted the hood this morning, I found the plug that the arrow is pointing at disconnected. Naturally I reconnected it and gave the car a spin. I noticed some oil below the pipe connections too. The problem remained. Problem: Stall when flicking to neutral in traffic or cruising (fuel economy drive mode)- especially after a quick right-foot itch ;) Could someone point me in the right direction (ISV replacement link for example) - I have looked for it already. Or of course any solutions they might know to my issue. All help welcomed as always and Cheers guys, nice to be back again.

I have looked at the car this morning and found that the wet evidence in the roof lining has gone. Obviously, this is because it was garaged last night, but the door is probably worth checking out. I will take off the panel today and see if the lining is doing it's job in there. It could be leaking in from the bottom of the door. I'll also remove the vent on the scuttle panel to see if I can see any evidence there. Any more suggestions welcomed.
-
I have cleared the scuttle area completely and don't have aircon unfortunaley. What confuses me most is how the little watermark in my roof lining is connected with the passenger footwell being damp. The likelihood of me having two leaks that appeared at exactly the same time is very slim - surely. Becoming more and more confident that it has something to do with sealing the sunroof. I'll try another search on here for it now. this time under "sunroof seal".
-
Bad News. Signs of water on my roof lining again - will take a picture in the light tomorrow. Also, the footwell is hinting damp again! I deliberately left the car out overnight as it was due to lash down with rain. Since my sunroof drains have been unblocked, it can't be them, but is there some kind of sunroof sealant that I may need to apply somewhere please?
-
Hmmm...? ;) This is what is in my mind Jim. I am going to keep a close eye on things to see how they develop. Maybe the drips came from my coat or something when I was chacking it out in the rain. It was one of the first things I noticed when I opened the door. Or maybe it even dripped there as soon as I opened the door. We can only monitor the whole thing. Nothing in the roof lining or on the speaker/door panel since the job was done. If it stays dry - job done I say.
-
Still no evidence of any water coming into the car.

Screen has now been refitted and resealed. In all fairness, they reported that the leak was unlikely to be coming from the windscreen and so they went looking for the cause for me. The result was that they reckon that there were old leaves blocking my subroof drains and that they had now cleared them. they are now confident that the problem is now solved. No charge. We can but wait now.
-
Autowindscreen called this morning - they were short staffed and can't do the job until tomorrow now. Will update after fitting.
-
Auto Windscreen refitting the screen on Wednesday. Surely worth a try.
-
That's what I'm hoping. Lol, I'm hoping for a windscreen leak !!!

Does anyone know how water could creep in behind the plastic trim that the roof handle is secured to. My leak seems to be about 3 inches forward from the handle toward the windscreen. I think my first port of call has to be to get the windscreen re-fitted. Then, hope that solves my problem. I think I may cut off the ugly-looking perished roof trim and silicone instead.
