2.0 16v kangaroos badly and eratic idle sometimes.
corrado g replied to corrado g's topic in Engine Bay
Where is the MAF located on the 2.0 16v? Yep the throttle cable is moving freely and correctly tensioned. Thanks for your help so far :) -
Hi I've just put my Corrado back on the road after 2 years off the road and now has developed a problem. The problem is kangarooing and sometimes it idles a bit high when its running at operating temperature and pulsates. I've checked the spark plugs and leads, idle valve, air intake and filter, fuel filter and unplugged variours sensors under the bonnet. I've also checked the lambda probe and none affects the problem. I've filled it up with fresh fuel too. Is the car stuck in limp mode? I can't use the throttle gently but if i stamp on the throttle it revs up fine. I've recently had the immobilser ecu replaced as it malfunctioned. The car always starts up and the idle good when cold. Please help!

ABS pump noise at low speeds or slowing to a stop

I took off the caliper and disc and put it straight with a pair of pliers. If I had no joy with that then new rotors would be put on. Cheapest method comes first. -
ABS pump noise at low speeds or slowing to a stop
corrado g replied to corrado g's topic in Drivetrain
Bit of an update on this and I found the drivers side ABS rotor to be slightly bent so straightened it out, and gave the whole lot a good clean, and its now working. -
Well after a lot of faffing about I managed to trace it to the clutch release bearing.

What colour are the oil pressure switches in a 2.0 16v?
corrado g replied to corrado g's topic in Engine Bay
Yes there are 2 switches, One operates the light and the other operates the oil light on the dash. I know one is a whiteish colour (the one that sits further towards the engine). The other one is whats causing the problem the one i got from GSF was brown, should it be blue? :? -
As above really, I think i was supplied the wrong one as its just failed. There are a few to choose from all with different ratings. Its the 9A engine. The wire coming out is blue/black if someone could check Iwould be greatful, cheers. 8)

Battery light stays dim. Any Clue to what it might be?
corrado g replied to corrado g's topic in Engine Bay
Well I found out the warranty hadn't run out on the alternator, so I whipped it out and got a brand new 90 amp one in exchange for the 65 amp one and pleased to say its all fixed. Don't know what caused the original alternator to fail though. Cheers for your help as always its much appriciated. :) -
Battery light stays dim. Any Clue to what it might be?
corrado g replied to corrado g's topic in Engine Bay
I tested the earth straps and I get the same reading of 13 volts. The problem must lie with the alternator. Is the voltage regulator the thing that is black and has Bosch written on it, held in with two philips screws? Is there a way of testing that? Sorry for all the questions. Thanks. -

Cheers for the responses i will test the earth strap. If its not that then I will remove the voltage regulator from the alternator and inspect it. Many thanks :salute: -
My battery light on the dash does not go out fully. I Bought a new battery recently and had this problem since, the alternator is also recent (about a year old). I tested the voltage and I get 12.6v without engine running and 13.0 volts with the engine running and no other electrical items are on, is this normal or should it be higher? It was fine before i fitted the new battery.

Cheers supercharged, i will give it a go now. :D

As above really, I know it fits on to the servo under the master cylinder but cant see any screws or a way of removing it. Also when I remove it, would brake fluid go everywhere? Would the brake system need a rebleed? Its the first time I have attempted this hence the maybe daft questions. Many thanks :)

I have done a VAG COM scan on my ABS system, I had the following codes come up: Address 03: ABS Brakes Controller: 1H0 907 379 D Component: ABS TEVES 04 3 Faults Found: 00532 - Supply Voltage B+ 35-00 - - 00290 - ABS Wheel Speed Sensor: Rear Right (G46) 35-00 - - 00287 - ABS Wheel Speed Sensor: Rear Right (G44) 35-00 - - 00257 - ABS Inlet Valve-Left Front (N101) I had the dreaded supply voltage come up like whats been mentioned before (replaced battery). It is safe to assume the rear right sensor needs to be replaced, or looked at. The bit that confused me was, 00257 - ABS Inlet Valve-Left Front (N101). Can anyone explain what it means and how i go about fixing it? I cleared it but it came back. Thanks. PS does anyone have a rear right wheel sensor going spare? :D

Hi would a standard bike rack fit a corrado such as this one. :? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BOOT-MOUNTED-BIKE-RACK_W0QQitemZ290198349492QQihZ019QQcategoryZ56202QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Or would the spoiler activation get in the way? Don't want to have to fit a towbar. Cheers. P.S wasn't sure where to put this so i put it in general.
