Kia Ora lads, I'm looking for pics of corrados on 16x9 (et15) Borbet Type As. If you're running them, what suspension are you running and do they rub etc etc? Much love. VeeDub

Does this car have the wider front wings? I.e. will the drivers wing match my passenger one on my 1990 16v?
-
How much for the front bumper, passenger indicator, passenger headlight and passenger fender?

On top of a smashed tail light today I've discovered my fuel pump is leaking like a sieve! The motor ran for about 30 secs while I had car jacked up and leaked out over 100ml (at a guess) onto the ground. Is there anything common/given that I need to check? What exactly is leaking? I've never touched a fuel pump before Appreciate your help!! See pic for WET area!

I have tried the search but not found any cars running 15x8" RS/RM all round. I am looking to do this with my RM012s (et33 at the moment) but want to see the finished product first. Also what drop and offset are you running? Cheers.

I have just picked up a set of 17x7 et45 and 17x9 et35 BBS RS for my 16v. I will need to run adaptors as they are 5x114.3 and will need to convert the car to 5x100 to accomodate the adaptors (It is illegal in New Zealand to adapt 4 to 5stud). Can anyone help me with the outcome if I have 17x9 et20 (after adaptors) on the rears. Rubbing, how low can I go, what arch work will be required? What tyres would be reccommended? Alternatively can I get some a pair of 7" barrells to swap my 9" ones somewhere!?!? I would prefer less than 9" wide on the rear, but bbs rs are like rocking horse shit in New Zealand not to mention 17" ones. Cheers in advance for your help!!

I can post up some pics tomorrow, but have had them taken to two different wheel engineering specialists in Auckland and both have explained why it can't be done :( drilling + tapping the hubs sounds like a lot of work and potentially also very expensive?

In New Zealand it's very hard to find a decent set of BBS RS wheels, especially ones that fit. After about 6 months, I found some that I thought might work. They are RS 039 (16x7" 4 x 114.3 and et24). I have recently found out that I can't redrill them because the centre bore is something like 75mm+ and the new holes could potentially crack through to the centre bore. I have a 1990 16v and want to know how the hell to make these wheels fit! Do I: a) find some 4x100 centres overseas and ship them to NZ (would probably be very expensive option). b) redrill and risk cracking through to the centre bore despite advice not to. c) sell them and wait another 6 months+ before I find a set that will fit. The other option is to run adaptors. The only problem here is that the adaptors will be at least 20mm, making the true offset about et4! Will this even work if i roll the guards!? If so, what kind of tyres would i need to run? Most people in my NZ Club are very conservative and don't like low offset wheels, so I thought some of you crazy english blokes could help me! I wan't to make these wheels fit one way or another! Cheers

It's been months since my install was finished, thought i'd post up in case it interested anyone. It was a friend of mine, Hennie from http://www.vask.org.nz (our club in New Zealand) that did all the work. I am running an alpine CDA-9857 ipod ready head unit, one pair of 5 1/4" infinity kappa compontents in factory door pods, and infinity kappa tweeters in factory dash mounts. Am running a 4 channel E-Audio amp, which powers 2 x 8" RE Audio subs, and also the front components. The whole idea of it was to make the system look factory (i.e no aftermarket door pods, no tweeters hanging off the pillars etc) and to get a really high quality clean, well balanced sound. The idea behind it was to keep it simple, use only one set of excellent components in factory locations. This meant all the treble/mid bass would come from in front of you, and sound waves from factory locations would hit you at almost the same time. I am strongly opposed to having anything other than bass coming from behind you - you don't go to a concert and turn your back to the stage! Anyway, we had two options with the subs. I could lose my spare tyre (or go to a space saver), and make up a complete boot floor to house the amp and subs. This would be made from MDF and would have probably weighed quite a bit. Option two was to make a fibreglass box - this is what we chose. Hennie took a mould of the left hand side of the boot (bigger cavity than the right hand side) and went to work fibreglassing. The box weighs about 1kg plus the MDF front face on it. It is sealed for clarity, however can port it later if i choose. Hennie made up a carpeted MDF amp mount to go onto the back of the single back seat. This meant the amp had enough air flow to keep cool, yet didn't take up much space in the boot. The overall final product was an excellent sound. The treble and mid range coming from where it should, loud, clear and crisp, and a punchy yet loud bass coming from the boot. Big bang for such small and few speakers! The carpet on the box and amp mount look slightly off in the photos, the match is much better in person. Since we did this, a few other corrado owners have asked Hennie to do the same for their cars.

What's the difference in arch specs, pre-facelift to post-facelift? Your stance looks really good, for my own personal taste though, I would probably like my wheels to sit in ever so slightly more. Would the earlier arches really correlate to a 1" difference in rim width?

Thanks for that, The thing is they are 8 hours drive away so I can't test fit them! They are missing the whole centrecap including the weave and everything unfortunately..

Sh*t sorry thought you english blokes had all the BBS RS numbers memorized! They are 15 x 7, ET16 (4 x 100). The 070 comes factory with 1.5" lip which is what makes it so good (IMO)

I have sourced a set (of 5!) BBS RS 070 here in New Zealand. I have a 1990 16v lowered 40mm. The question is will they fit!? If so, will I need to roll the guards? Any other advice appreciated! This is the first set I have ever seen in NZ, are they very rare? Some are missing centrecaps, but are in very good condition. Other than ebay, where would I find centrecaps for a sharp price? Thanks in advance!

Here's the low down: I got my car painted (doors forward) here in New Zealand, the guy did a sh!t of a job and i told him to do it again. He did it again and when i came to collect the car it was outside in the rain on an overcast day. Rain all over the car i couldn't see the quality of the job, so i paid him my $1400 and took it home. I cleaned it the next day and had it out in the sun. My rado is Helios Blue LA5Y. The rear end still had its beautiful purple pearl but from the doors forward is now just a flat metalic blue with NO purple pearl at all. In the sunlight, my car is 2 different colours which is horrible. The painter said he typed in my paintcode LA5Y and 7 variations came up - he took the first one and painted it. NO MATCH. I've spent hours on end trying to find out where i can get the RIGHT variation of this paint so i can go back to him and tell him, that's the right paint - do it properly. I shouldn't have to take my car back to a "professional" 3 TIMES before it could be done right. Anyway any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. We only have 13 Corrados in New Zealand, HE F*CKED ONE OF THEM UP.
