Comp ends on Monday and I'm double the nearest car so I should be fine thanks! Looks like she'll get a free cut & polish when the motor goes again! It's not legal to drive around without a bonnet - I only did it for a couple of test runs. In saying that, the ride height isn't legal, nor is no front number plate, nor is the tyre stretch but I can usually talk my way out of it :)

After a few weeks of being super busy at work I finally got time to look at the Corrado. Dropped the sump and found this. Sad sight, but onwards and upwards. Motor is coming out again and we'll pull it apart and find out what's happened. I'll shorten the steel sump at the same time and retain the R32 pick up for some extra clearance. Exactly how much clearance does the pick up need to the sump??

Nobody needs a 24v ECU? Make an offer, I want to free up some cash to make my mk1 rocco go fast.

Hi guys, One of the lads here in New Zealand has unfortunately crashed his Tornado Red 16v Corrado. It looks like he will need to import a bonnet, bumper, light, passenger wing and maybe some other parts. I'm considering going in with him on importing a whole car instead. What we'd be after is a Tornado red corrado with a quick motor, prefer F.I. 1.8t or g60 preferred as I would like to swap the guts into my mk1 rocco. Seller must be willing to help with getting the car to the port for transport to New Zealand. Don't care about MOT, TAX etc because the car won't be registered in New Zealand. Bonus points for leather interior etc. What have you got/what do you know of!? Cheers

Still got this for sale :)

Any like is a good like! Great response so far, thanks to anyone who's been helping me :)

I've entered my car in a competition in New Zealand to win a full stone chip repair and cut & polish. The most likes on the facebook pic will win and I need all the help I can get!! If everyone on facebook could please take two seconds to click the picture and like it for me i'd be hugely appreciative! Cheers!! Link: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151124529786129&set=o.193017005294&type=1&theater¬if_t=like The car is an R32 Corrado on BBS RS 003s.

Well I only managed to drive it for about 3 or 4 min at moderate revs, i didn't want to push it too hard initially. It should be around 50 - 60hp more than the BDE 2.8L motor it had in it and it definitely feels that way. It's impressive, quite rapid - i'm very happy & blown away, I wasn't expecting such an increase in torque & drive-able power. The 3.2 is a weapon compared to the 2.8. After a test run I took it home & fitted bonnet, lights, grille, lip etc. By then the car was cold and it was about 9pm, I took it for one last test run before an event I had organised for the next day. Managed to drive about 400m cold at low revs ( Tomorrow i'll drop the sump and measure the clearance. Order a new 12v oil pump (am using the R one at the moment) and will grease the gears on that. Hook up a pressure guage and crank it over with the plugs out & cross my fingers it goes. If it goes bad, the motor will be coming out again. No idea what's caused it but the last motor died because the sump smashed the oil pick up to pieces when it collected the road. That hasn't happened this time, sump hasn't touched the ground at all so i'm a little worried. The motor has run for at least 30 mins since the swap though so whatever it is has happened since then, the motor didn't come with something wrong.

Tomorrow i'll drop the 12v sump and i'll measure the depth compared to the alloy 24v sump. I'll measure the clearance differences and i'll order a new 12v oil pump. The plan then is to grease the gears in the oil pump, hook up a pressure guage and crank it over without the plugs & hope for the best. I'll post up the measurement differences between the R32 pick up vs 12v pick up and the 12v sump vs 24v sump if anyone is interested to know exactly what they are. Cheers for the advice!

Why do I need a 12v oil pump - is the clearance better? I don't really want to go to a baffled sump but I ran the 2.8L 24v motor for a few months on the 24v oil pick up with no problems.

240 pounds. Need it gone, don't be scared to make an offer.

I put a 3.2L BHE Audi TT motor in my Corrado and got it running yesterday. I put a 12v steel sump on it because the car is quite low and I don't want to risk smashing an alloy one. How much clearance does the pick up have to the bottom of the sump? The car seems to have lost oil pressure today and i'm wondering if that's the problem - I'll drop the sump tomorrow and measure but has anyone had a problem with 12v sumps not allowing enough clearance?
-
No worries mr lobitos - i'm open to offers anyway :) That way you could retain your factory ECU also should you ever want to go back or sell parts off.

What's your engine code? I'm pretty sure it will be compatible with most 24v motors - you could even run an R32 motor on it. Well if a de-immo is £100 and a remap is £250 and the ECU 2nd hand is around £60 that works out at around £410 (It owes me a bit over £500) I think £280 including track and trace to your door anywhere in the world is fair. I would say give Stealth or United a call an tell them your engine code and the ECU code and ask whether it will work. Work involved in fitting is zero - plug and play. I can't itemize factually what the power gains are as the car wasn't rolling road tested. In saying that, when it was done I was blown away with the difference and I couldn't stop smiling. Smooth creamy power right to the red line. I'd be very interested to see what sort of gains it actually pust out if the new owner gets a dyno with it. ---------- Post added at 8:12 PM ---------- Previous post was at 8:04 PM ---------- You can check out http://www.vipertuning.com for more info on the tuning company, and contact Rich at Viper if you'd like to know more about the map. If you say it's the map that he did for New Zealand he'll probably remember it The ECU is worthless here as nobody has a 24v corrado or mk2 and nobody is building one. Small scene.

100% perfect working condition. Has a Viper Tuning map and de-immo done by Stealth. £200 Part number: 022 906 032 AD Originally out of a BDE 2.8L 24v 4 motion car before the remap & immo delete. Was never rolling road tested unfortunately but put out great power and I was very, very happy with it. Not sure what it's worth as a second hand part? I only drove about 500km before breaking the engine so has had barely any use. All up this ECU owes me $1000 NZ (around 500 pounds). I'd like to recover as much of this as possible obviously so how about 240 pounds or near offer. Please let me know if this price is way out of line, i really have no idea what it's worth and I do need it gone so am open to offers! The ECU is in New Zealand, however I will track and trace post it anywhere in the world for free. I can email a pic of the ECU, my flickr isn't working. Here is the only video I have of the car:

Hi guys, I need the MAF housing for an R32/tt motor. Same as in the listing below. I'm on a bit of a deadline and would need it express couriered out to me in New Zealand. If anyone has one and can do that, let me know! :) http://www.ebay.com/itm/MASS-AIR-SENSOR-MAF-07D906461-AUDI-A3-TT-VW-EOS-PASSAT-R32-TOUAREG-02-10-METER-/140809060071?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item20c8dfbee7

The scene isn't very active at all, but there is a scene of sorts I guess. The last show we organised, SO2012, had 35 cars entered and was the biggest watercooled VAG show the country had ever seen. Not a fly sh*t on the global spectrum but it's better than nothing I guess. The Jap scene is huge as you say!

Sorted! Found the correct ECU from the donor car still in Japan. What are the chances!

I've just put a BHE (mk1 TT) 3.2L 24v motor into my Corrado. It had a 2.8L BDE 24v motor in it before (ex golf). I've been told by Stealth that I could try starting it on the 2.8L ECU that I have but it won't run well. Then depending on the fault codes that show up we could probably map it to work well with the TT motor. Alternatively if I just got a TT ECU and sent it to Stealth it would be up and running sooner (or a mk4 R32 ECU). Does anyone have one of these that I could buy and send directly to Stealth? Problem is I am in New Zealand so we have absolutely no wrecked TT or R32 cars here. Any help is hugely appreciated! Pics of the car are here: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Haus102/250992111652838

R32 motor is in! A solid weekend of work saw the swap complete. I still have a few small things to do: Send ECU to Stealth to get a map for the 3.2L motor, need a new MAF housing, G12, P/steer fluid, put one drive shaft in etc. Just little things but I've got a couple of weeks before I have the ECU back now. A few weeks after putting the 24v motor in, it seized. Not sure why until we open it up, but seems to have lost oil pressure somehow. Super ****ed off and not wanting to waste any time on that motor, I found an BHE 3.2L V6 in Japan (ex Audi TT). I guess I made the best of a bad situation because I was starting to get bored with the 2.8L 24v power and wanted a bit more. The motor arrived from Japan last week and is going into the car this weekend. I have some all red lights being made up in the UK also so they're next. I also got some NOS roof gutter rubbers which I was stoked to find locally. I've found a complete beige leather interior too (carpets & all). I'm waiting on a forum admin to complete my registration before I can get in touch with the guy arrrrggghhh.

By all means, if original is what he wants, then go with it. In either case (modified or original) I'd be looking to buy the best example he could afford!

Hahaha fingers crossed! I know who to come crying to when I have issues!
