  1. I'm running 17 x 7.5" BBS RX on a lowered 9A Valver. I want to bolt on a set of Ibiza Cupra Brembos. I've used the search and I gather that I'll need to run spacers to offset the back of the spokes from the calipers. Now I'm running 5mm spacers already and what I'm wondering is will the Brembos fit behind the BBS running these? Spacing them out more isn't really an option at the moment because I'll need to get arch work done to stop the wheels catching on suspension compression. Any help would be much appreciated!
  2. I'll take a set definitely, just went to the hassle of refitting mine there yesterday and it's after coming loose already. Can you PM me the amount payable for the kit with the appropriate drill bit and tap please Dave. Delivered to Ireland of course. Cheers.
  3. Looks good but you can also just rub down the chrome coating with autosol to get a gloss black finish underneath. Small bit tricky trying to get in behind the lenses though. What paint did you use?
  4. Just looking for some advice on these http://www.edition38.com/forums/index.p ... pic=130147 I want to fit Porsche 996 Turbo calipers to my 4-stud Corrado. I understand that these will fit Seat caliper carriers. Also can I use Cupra R 305mm 4 stud discs with them? My main concern is will they fit and are there any other things I should be concerned with? I'm running 17" BBS RX ET35 spaced out 5mm all round. Any other advice/suggestions would be much appreciated
  5. This is what you want lads.......... VW Sharan Stubby. Fit's perfectly and no real loss in signal. Shorter than the S2000 ones too.
  6. How's it goin Dave? Driver's side is knackered, so i'll be needing a kit for that please, Pm me the details and include delivery to Cork, Ireland. Headlight switch repair kit still holding up stong! Cheers fella, you're saving us fortune!
  7. You want G12+ coolant. Any Irish VAG dealer will have it. One of the few VW things that's still cheap!
  8. Cheers, think I'm gonna refit the system tommorrow using sealant. Gonna try and get hold of a new sleeve from the dealers too.... Anybody with ETKA or ETOS know the part no. I know for a fact that my useless local dealer won't have a clue!!!
  9. I recently fitted a Magnex Cat-back to my 9A Valver.... When I fitted it I had to re-use the sleeve that joins the Cat to the front pipe of the Magnex system. It's not so much a clamp as an expanding sleeve with two clamps (one on either end). Anyway since fitting the exhaust I've noticed that there's a slight air leak coming from the join between the Cat and the Magnex System and suspect this sleeve clamp is at fault as it looked fairly knackered when I fitted it. Does anybody have the part number for this (it is a VAG part) or have any suggestions as to how to fix the leak.... obviously I've tightened everything up, etc.... Should I need to use exhaust sealant on a new exhaust?
  10. Cheers, let me know about the Neos so..... might try the ones on ebay if they're not available, they're £70 fom caraudiocentre so must be decent enough and at £28 from ebay are cheap as chips. I know they'll only ever be fill speakers... not expecting great things just an improvement and less distortion really.
  11. Thanks for the advice.... can't really justify spending £110 on 6x4s to be honest but I came across these on the bay, what do ya reckon? Seems like a good price for some decent speakers.... and they should fit too. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Lanzar-4x6-120W-T ... dZViewItem Wish I could buy the sub and box from you but there's a few more important things on the list first....
  12. Currently upgrading my speakers as budget allows.... plans are: 1: Upgrade fronts to Infinity Kappa components and upgrade rears to Reference 6x4s. I'm not expecting much bass from this setup I just want to set up a nice sound stage for reasonable
  13. Haven't been on here in a while, so I said I'd put up an ol' update. Haven't been up to much, just de-wipered the back... makes it look nice and smooth and costs nothin!! Wound down the coilovers a bit more think its dropped about 55-60mm all round now. It's a nice balance for everyday use. Just won a new sunroof motor off the bay too so will have full tilt and slide for the Summer :D Original exhaust went a few months ago so been driving with no backbox for the last two months!! Magnex arrived the other day.... Just wondering is it just a straightforward fit, adjust and tighten up or is there anything I need to look out for??
  14. Thanks for the advice David, turned out it was the voltage regulator on the alternator.... Nice cheap fix for a change! :D
  15. Cleaned my engine bay yesterday and think I must have got something wet. Battery keeps on running flat. It does take a charge because i charged it up last night and it started the car today. It's a new battery too. I think its the alternator but thats only 3 months old and the battery light doesn't come on in the dash so I'm not sure. Is there anything else I should check before I go to get my alternator fixed only to find it wasn't the problem in the first place.... Car is a 9A 16V and it has an uprated headlight loom if that makes a difference. Any help much appreciated as at this stage I haven't a clue???
  16. Yep, been waiting for over two months for mine.... Ordered through venom, but they said Magnex are out of stock at the moment. Did you get yours yet?
  17. There's three different types: XSVWC6-FS1 (1.8 G60) XSVWC6-FS2 (2.0 16V) XSVWC6-FS3 (2.9VR6) I've been waiting for mine from Venom for nearly 7wks now!! Richard said that they were waiting on Magnex??
  18. Looks like I'll have to do that I suppose... think I might pop into the dealer and see if he has the: 051 115 611B dipstick first to compare. @Yanyards: Why would I have to take off the sump?
  19. Anybody? Checked the oil this morning in the cold and still getting nothing on the dipstick.... Serviced recently and I topped it up with about 600ml.... I don't want to fill it any more because I think it's overfilled as it is. If anybody could get me a measurement it would be brilliant... cheers
  20. It's probably the right one... its just that the buzzer came on with the light during some hard cornering so i figured my oil was low. Topped it up a good bit and if I take the dipstick out after the engine has been running there's oil on it. But if I wipe it and dip it again there's no oil, so I figured its too short. That and ETOS says the part no. should end with a B, whereas mine ends in an A. If I could just get the length of the metal bit of the dipstick it'd put my mind at rest.
  21. Unusual request I know, but can anybody tell me the length of the dipstick for a 2.0 9A 16v. Think mine might be the wrong one.... might be a bit short. Part no. on it is: 051 115 611A think it should be 051 115 611B Cheers!
  22. Very tidy.... nice and original. Any plans for it?? Assuming you'll keep her pretty much standard considering it's a storm with such low mileage but a new headlight loom and aero wipers are pretty essential for winter driving. Some more pics please.... love those solitudes! As zuko said, have a look at vagdrivers.net for Irish meets, etc.
  23. Cheers Dave, Looks straightforward enough, I'll give it a go this morning... Corrado over College everytime!
  24. Alternator belt snapped on me today, so have decided I'll replace the power steering belt as well while I'm at it (it needs to come off anyway as far as I know?) Have trawled through plenty of threads but can't seem to find one on the 2.0 valver, plenty on the 1.8 mind you! Anyway I just need to know how to remove the power steering belt. I'm assuming the alternator/water pump belt is an easy swap once the PS pulley is out of the way? Any specific tools I'll need besides the usual spanners and sockets? Are these the correct part no's for the new belts? 037 903 137E 027 903 137 Any help much appreciated!! Not the most mechanically minded but am a broke student so can't afford to pay somebody to do it!
  25. Just to get back to this, I ordered 2 sets of Acc pedals (LHD and RHD) and the one you need is: 8N1721647B (LHD ACC Pedal : Size: 105mm x 47mm x 28mm) and 2 clutch pedals Hope that clears it all up for people. The smaller RHD pedal is too small and won't fit.
