  1. Ok, have used the search and read thru all the different posts and am now even more confused. I thought I simply needed 2 clutch pedals and a LHD accelerator pedal. Some people say u need the smaller LHD pedal, but the LHD pedal is actually bigger than the RHD pedal. Ì'm just trying to order a set from Vagparts and want to get the right ones. https://sslrelay.com/s74326199.oneandon ... shopscript So do I need 8N1721647B (LHD ACC Pedal : Size: 105mm x 47mm x 28mm) or 8N2721647B (RHD ACC Pedal: 98mm x 40mm x 25mm) Thanks in advance!!
  2. Sorry if this is a repost but I did use the search. Was wondering the other day what all the option codes on the sticker inside the service history cover meant. Anyways found this decoder today and thought it might interest some of ye. http://igorweb.org/equidec/ This is what it outputted for my valver: X2B = national sales program Great Britain B0N = component parts set, complying with vehicle type for Great Britain, various parts C5W = cast alloy wheels 7J x 15 offset 37 (3B0 601 025 S) G0C = 5-speed manual transmission H0U = tires 195/50 R 15 V J1P = battery 220 A (44 Ah) M5K = 4-cylinder gasoline engine 2.0 L/100 kW 16V closed-loop catalytic converter, base engine is T5J Q1D = sports front seats 1AC = anti-lock brake system (ABS) 1G4 = space-saving spare wheel, same size (same rolling circumference) as originalequipment tires 1MB = sports steering wheel (hollow rim) 3AE = outer right rear view mirror: flat, powered, heated 3BF = outer left rear view mirror: convex, powered, heated T5J = components for, base engine, unit 051.3 3FD = electric sliding/pop-up sunroof 9BA = without additional electric safety package 9HA = without additional malfunction display 9C2 = without special low beam mode but with "coming and leaving home" function for ROW" 8GC = alternator 65A 8RL = six loudspeakers (passive) 8TD = rear fog light for driving on the left 8BF = halogen headlight for driving on the left 8WD = integrated front fog light 1BA = standard suspension/shock absorption Bit disappointing really, usual poverty spec. I'm assuming all Corrados were fitted with "Q1D = sports front seats" ??
  3. Jim, Just fitted mine to an FK grill. My Grill was missing two small nubs that are on the OE grill and keep the badge in position at its bottom. The nubs just seem to stop the badge from sliding back in towards the engine side of the grill and make the clips sit in place securely. There is only supposed to be one cutout. So what I did: Araldite Rapid on the on the top of the badge where it sits against the top supports and on the retaining clips at the back. Folded cardboard wedged in between clips and grill to keep in position for an hour. Result: perfect, badge not goin anywhere. looks great too! A lot harder to explain, but its only a 2 minute job really.
  4. Been a while since I've posted up any photos, so after a quick wax today I said I'd take a few snaps. Murphy's Law no doubt.... it would have to get dark before I got the camera out! Anyway, I've been quite busy since my last update: New Splitter New Plates Debadged Grill Smoked/ Red tailights Clear Repeaters Coilovers wound down even more 5mm spacers on front now as well Uprated wiring loom Headlights 'detailed' I stripped back the horrible chrome on the tailight surrounds to black using autosol(Cheers Bally!!) so they'd look a little more 'factory'... but of course forgot to take any pics of this! As for the grill, I reckon once I track down a nice chrome 16V badge for the corner it'll finish it off nicely. It actually sits a lot lower than in the pics but I had her jacked up to take the wheels off for a clean and the coilovers hadn't settled back down yet. Here ye go anyway, no fancy locations, ye'll have to make do with the driveway I'm afraid. FK Smoked/Red Interior (needs leather!!) Detailed Headlights Uprated Headlight Loom..... I can see!! :D One more...
  5. Bally, Is it black plastic underneath ya? Car is lookin mint by the way, took a bit of inspiration from its early days for my own. Cheers
  6. They look perfect...they could have been factory fit!! Yet another thing on the to-do list. Detailed the headlights and fitted a new splitter today.....so I'm getting there!! Will post up some pics when I get mine done. Cheers Lads!!
  7. Sorry, should have been more specific, I don't want to paint the glass or dull down the effect.. its the chrome thats visible when you open the boot that I want to get rid of. If it's black underneath I'll get out the paint stripper!!
  8. Have used the search but had no luck!! Got my FK smoked/red tailights during the week and surprisingly enough they fit quite well. They really transform the car and "modernise" it if you get what I mean? What I don't like though is the chrome at the top of the lights and in between the red/smoked lenses. I just think it looks a little too flashy for the Corrado. Has anyone stripped off this paint, what colour is it underneath and what did you use?? .......Or am I better off painting them with black hammerite a la tinted headlight mod?? Cheers in advance!!
  9. Mine seem fine anyway. Didn't need the spacers on the fronts. It's probably down to the Coilovers being different I suppose. Gonna order some clear repeaters and FK smoked/red rears there in a bit too. Just looking on the venom website, which are the better repeaters to go for: clear or crystal? Also what size chrome top bulbs do i need for the FKs and repeaters?
  10. Cheers lads, Went for KW Variant 1 from Darren. Couldn't really justify the extra for Variant 2 when I'm never really likely to adjust the damping. It proved to be worth it in the end as I really like the damping as it is. Great price on the KWs too at the moment. Had to run a 5mm spacer on the rears just for that extra bit of clearance.
  11. Right Lads, Here ye go. Lowered, not too sure by how much yet.... must get out the tape! My local VAG specialist Autowerks have just levelled it and I'm gonna drive it as is for a couple of weeks until she has settled. Haven't caught anything yet so I reckon I'm safe to drop another 15mm at least :D. Completely transforms the look and feel of the car. She handles like a go-kart now and the ride is firm but not harsh. This is the way the Corrado should have rolled out of the factory. The lads in Autowerks did a top-notch job of overhauling her and she drives much better now. Needed new engine mount and plugs (was running sh*te champions) and what a difference it makes. She drives so much smoother and the pick-up has improved too. Replaced the top mounts with VR6 mounts, replaced the ball joints and anti-roll bar linkages. Got a new rad and exhaust mount too. A costly service but the difference it made to the car was well worth it. Here are the pics anyway, went a bit mad!! (she's crying out for a new splitter, I know!) ....And more! All I need now is my corrado-forum stickers!!
  12. Was gonna go for a set of Weitecs, but in the end spent the extra on a set of KWs from Darren. I must say I'm very impressed. The ride is firm but not harsh and thats running 17s in Ireland!!! My valver now handles like a go-kart. Gotta start using the brakes for bends soon! :D I would say the KW are worth getting for the corrosion resistance of the stainless units alone particularly with the salted roads over there. They look sweet too!
  13. Nearly there now lads, she'll be slammed on Monday. Gonna start by dropping her about 50mm. Can't afford a new spoiler just yet so want to hold onto my current one for a while!! :) The KWs really look good!! They seem really well made and should last for a while too, being stainless. Can't wait to throw her around a bit after Autowerks (my local VW specialist) have sorted her!! Sweet :D
  14. Yep, ordered a set of Variant 1s off Darren the other day. It really is a great price for some quality coilovers. Just give me a buzz when they come in and I'll get my guy to pick them up, don't need the free shipping.
  15. Bit of progress on the lowering front. Ordered some KW Variant 1 coilovers from Darren at G-werks today. Hope to have them fitted by the end of the month. Not a lot of people on here running them I don't think but have heard great things about KW so hopefully they'll be sweet. They certainly look the business anyway. Cheers Darren!
  16. Looks sweet alright. I'd say the BBS RXs are definitely some of the lighter rims out there. I thought the jump from 15s to 17s would kill my C but I really haven't noticed much of a difference at all, just plenty more grip and it seems more chuckable. Funny you mention it about the old guy, since I've had mine I've had more compliments from old guys than anyone else. Nothing better than that look you get in the rear view as the spoiler pops up though, priceless!! :D Gotta get me some coilovers after seeing these pics, though. You got highsports or konigs?
  17. Cheers Lads for all the comments. Spent a while looking for a nice genuine low-mileage valver that hadn't been raped by the boy racers and finally this one came up. Owned by a Cop and then a Heli Pilot before me so she's been driven and maintained like a Corrado should be. No scratches on the windscreen; overhead powerlines, although you had me worried!! Will keep ye posted on the progress!!
  18. Cheers Lads, After doing a bit of reading through some of the threads and now I'm not sure whether to go for the FK Highsports or Weitec Hicon GTs?? Any opinions on the Weitecs lads?? Roads aren't great over here but I don't mind a stiff suspension set up as long they're up to it on the smooth stuff. We don't salt our roads here either so corrosion shouldn't be as big an issue. Where's a good place to pick up a set of 5mm spacers/ longer wheel studs?
  19. Not sure to be honest. I rang MS Tuning (BBS Dealer on BBS website) and they were able to tell me. Very helpful too!! Number is 01375 362828 Nice Corrado by the way!
  20. Ok got the answer for my spigot rings. In case anybody reads this in the future they are 70mm-57.1mm diameter and BBS make them, part number 09.23.411. Anybody know wether I'm gonna need spacers with the FKs? :?
  21. Have used the search but couldn't find any answers. Does anyone know the size spigot ring I need for a set of 17x7.5 BBS RX. I know the centrebore is 57.1mm but I need the the measurement for the BBS wheel insert? Also can I run FK Highsports with my RXs without spacers? Wheels are ET35 and rubber is 205/40 section. While I'm changing the suspension I'm gonna change the front top mounts. Is there anything else I should be changing? Darren, if you're reading this can you PM me a price for a set of Highsports delivered to Cork, IRL please? Spec / Pics of my car here
  22. Hey lads, what's the craic?? Been a member here for a while now looking to buy my first Corrado. Picked her up last month so i said I'd better put a few posts up. Very helpful forum, I've been able to find an answer to nearly all of my questions here. So anyway here's the spec on the car and a few pics: 1994 Aqua Blue Pearl 2.0 16V 66k Full VAG Service & MOT History Cobra Alarm Sony Head Unit 17" BBS RX/ BF Goodridge Profiler G Aero Wiper Conversion Engine is standard FK Highsports are on the way to lose the ridiculous 4x4 ride height, along with clear repeaters. Then I'll attack the engine. :D So.....what do ye think?? Standard engine :( Aero wipers went on today
