Are Corrado's the best looking affordable car ever?
Hans G60.nl replied to PhatVR6's topic in General Car Chat
when the calibra came in production i truely tought it was a superb car wich i had to buy... when i got my drivers license, i bought me a kadett 1.3 (astra mk1 ?) later on i traded that for a kadett 2.0 16v gsi (astra mk1 gt/e ?) then i finally had gathered enough money for the calibra (year 2000) then i came round to see some... and it didn't put me in a big smile anymore.. the only one that gave me pleasure was the 4x4 turbo, which is rather rare and expensive... so i didn't buy a calibra.... what to do next... i thought.... i came round to look for a bmw 328 ci (e36)... superb car, great looks, fine driving.... till i got to see one in a town not far from here... there it was.. the car i wanted... (till i looked next to it)... next to it a old crackled g60 ... menth to be tornado red, but was more pink... but i liked the design so much.. i didn't want the beemer neither... then the search went on to look for a corrado, silvergrey... found 2... one's engine was damaged, the other one had big body damage... (i just wanted to drive one, not repair one)... kept looking.. found another silver grey one... everything was on it... and again.. next to it.......................... YESSS MY ALPINE WHITE CORRADO G60 :) the big smile was back on, i like colors no one really wants to buy.. but it looks so great on a corrado... i still can't tell why i like it so much, but after modifying some things (lowering, sport exhaust, tinted windows, other dash, ice, headlight spoiler, mattig grille etc. etc. etc.) i even like it more and more every day... people bend their necks because of the superb g charger sound, the looks and the quality of the bodywork after 13 years.. -
here's the effect of my home-made loom... low beam before low beam after high beam before high beam after in both cases philips vision plus bulbs are fitted for the low beam (H4)

that's a whole different argue..... to be or not to be.... can't really remember who said it ;) but taste's are different... i don't want rally safety belts, that doesn't mean you cant get them...' no argue about taste, one drives sporty, one wants comfort.

to get the full sized drawings go to my homepage... http://www.corrado-g60.tk (all dutch so i'll explain where to click on) click CORRADO TIPS click CORRADO ARMSTEUN MAKEN then scroll all the way down and click the zip file ------- edit just below the drawings is the zip file /edit ---------
-
are the drawings readable for you ??? seems the full size link doesn't work properly
-
i think its perfect, i have tested the hight by putting a pile of cd covers on the tunnel, with some strap band.... i drive with the seat as low as possible (otherwise i don't fit in the car) and then the hight is perfect the armrest is placed by clamping it over the tunnel (therefor i have used the metal part) so it can allways be removed

funny that after you sprayed the lights you allso got new wheels... i wish i got them after i sprayed my lights ;)
-
i have made my own.... i still have to put some cloth on the inside, but that's just a little detail these are the drawings; measurement in mm's images in full size, but zipped : http://members.lycos.nl/nl2han/corradot ... msteun.zip

i own a jvc KD-LH 3101, superb quality and many many options available (i.e. 1728 color display, 3 line outs, PICT to show your own photos)

something like this ??? i did this with white gauges and 2 neon tubelights of 10cm each you can see them above the gauges here i allso changed the foil from green to blue these are the neon's for the mfa display you have to dismount the unit, and remove the foil, put in a bright blue led in place of the usual light. then you get something like this here you can see the foil of the mfa display: replace it with some blue foil and this is the result without the white gauges

DSP Corrado and DSP corrado front bumper
Hans G60.nl replied to biggerbigben's topic in General Car Chat
what's the url of the dsp site where the picture is from ??? i can't keep this from the dutch corrado freaks ;) -
this diagram doesn't boost your high beam, does it ?
-
i'm afraid i have to translate something: grootlicht - high beam dimlicht - low/ normal beam accu- battery originele draadboom- original wiring aansluiting - connection massa - minus pole from the electric circuit.. may there be any questions, just let me know what the "mega beam unit" does: it creates 13.8 volt from your battery on your lights instead of the usual 11.5 volt that's going into your lights (rest is lost somewhere in the original circuit) the second thing it does... usually when you pull the high beam lever, you get shortly a big beam which becomes less when you release the lever, that problem is solved now by using the high beam of the H4 light (low beam usually, but allso has a wire for high beam) and using the normal high beam on a higher voltage.. (again some volts are lost in the original circuit)

Hey guys, i think you all know the same problem i have... the headlights of a corrado aren't really what you can call a big-beam... so i've made a schematic solution... now i only have to work it out, but i'm 200% sure that it works.

Golden Tulip Rally 2003 (NL) pictures online !
Hans G60.nl replied to Hans G60.nl's topic in General Car Chat
it's about 25% gravel and 75% tarmac... you really have to seek for a nice gravel road, because these are the roads we normally drive on ;) -
Hey guys, the big rally was this weekend here in the neighbourhood, so i went to see it and made some pic's (200++) and they're online to watch on my homepage.. http://www.corrado-g60.tk under the button MEETING FOTO'S then button GOLDEN TULIP RALLY 2003 some previews: and there was some nice nature around to watch when the cars didn't come for a while :
-
i've resprayed them and been thinking for a real long time... this is the result... more pics on my site: http://www.corrado-g60.tk under the button CORRADO TIPS and sub ACHTERLICHTEN SPUITEN

mine does about 10 - 15 minutes after a good drive and high temperature
-
do you have a link to euro car parts ???
-
40 mm can still be done with only springs... if you want to drop more you should allso change the shocks... (KW gewindefahr or H&R adjustable are very good)
-
in the netherlands cars are beiing impounded with street racing by cops, so i don't think it will survive long... there are allways some extremes who keep on racing, but that's just a handfull.... i've heard that out here there are many mr2's and beemers racing...
-
why don't you put up the window film yourself ??? the only nasty window is the rear one... the other four are quite easy to do
-
can anyone give me information of how to build there headlights ??? or perhaps where they are for sale ??? (i think that that would be a problem with shipping to the netherlands, but i sure would like to know) i like the headlights and the door handles... the rest i think is too extreme for a german car, all that gitter fits better on a rice-wagon
