Well,ok, it's causing MY CAR to fail its MOT strictly speaking, not ME!
-
Hi Does anyone have a late headlight switch - mine seems to have developed a fault which is causing me to fail my MOT. Could do with one ASAP! Any help much appreciated! Paul

Hi Need a few bits if anyone can help :) Door locking pin "guide" which sits in the door card. Plus a full set of 3 side moldings. All for a late VR6. Thanks! Paul

Thanks for all your help and for the photo Sanky! I have forwarded to the bodyshop. Hi Roger - I got another good bracket from Tom. The gap is consistent all round the bumper. Cheers, Paul

Hi All My car has had a new front bumper recently fitted following my recent bump. However when I went to the bodyshop on Saturday the replacement seems to have been fitted too low. See what you think.... Could anyone help me out with a comparative picture of a correctly positioned item so I can show them? Thanks, Paul

Thanks for your help guys. Purple Tom - I will take you up on your offer of a used one if you let me know the final total and your email so I can paypal you a gift / send address details. Cheers, Paul

Hi All Getting there follow my recent bump in my 1994 VR6. Unfortunately the body shop have had to cut my old bonnet cable to get under the bonnet. So I now need one of those - does anyone have a decent one I can buy? Thanks For Your Help! Paul

Hi As per title Bonnent and Passenger Front Wing. Not rusty, ideally Dragon Green. Thanks, Paul

Thanks for all the advice guys.

I will try and get a VIC booked in advance in that case Dox, thanks. Yes I was thinking IRO £200 for the parts total, so perhaps I am being pessimistic on the paint and labour side. Just thinking worst case then I can only be pleasantly surprised!
-
Thanks for the replies guys. VIC check seems to be relatively painless at £41. They are valuing the car at £2k. I said I want to keep it and repair myself. They said I can buy it back from them for £200 which leaves me with a broken car and £1.8k to spend.

Hi All So I had a non-fault smash last week in my pride and joy (Dragon Green VR6) :( GRRR Net result is that the car has been deemed a Cat C. The insurance have offered me £2k (-10% to buy it back = £1800). Next steps for me are to acquire a few parts (bumper, wing, slam panel, headlight, grille) and get the paint work done and get her fixed and back on the road (probably wiping out the payment, TBC). I intend to run the car for a while yet so am not going to get too upset about the affect of the Cat C label on resale value. My initial questions are: Will my insurance will increase as a result of the car being a Cat C? Will I need to pay for an engineers report post repair to prove she's roadworthy again? (how much?) Any thoughts or advice appreciated. Thanks, Paul

:) Bumper and light look great. I will take the lower grille too cheers, but will leave the spoiler and bonnet (thanks anyway). Cheers, Paul

Thanks Dox, sounds fine I will probably pick up at the weekend if that suits? Cheers
-
Thanks Dox! Do you have a price in mind?

Hi Ron Thanks, that is a really kind offer. I am in Manchester and know nobody from your neck of the woods though so it may be tricky... Cheers, Paul

Hi Due to a smash this morning :( I now need: Front Bumper Bonnet Front Slam Panel Nearside headlight unit (complete) Nearside front wing VGC and rust-free is my strong preference. Ideally Dragon Green so I don't have to put up with that 'Polo Harlequin' look until I get to the paintshop. But beggars can't be choosers so please let me know what you've got so I can get my baby back on the road. Thanks a lot, Paul

Plus it has green illumination of course! I am thinking of getting one of these too so glad you are liking it.

Or non-airbag Jetta from same period. They only put these in for about a year of production, so relatively rare I guess? Anyway I am finding it a really nice alternative! Very pleased.
-
Hi All No doubt others know, but I only just found out so thought I'd share... I purchased an early Golf Gti Mk3 (non-airbag) steering wheel from Ebay in great condition - design is identical to the VR6 3 spoke (see attached), the only difference being that it's non-leather. It still has a nice padded / grippy feeling though and is a good alternative if you want to retain the original design but your leather wheel has seen better days and a leather refurb is not your preferred choice. Part no: 1H0 419 091 AA Cheers Paul

Zak Please can you put me down for one too? :0) Thanks Paul

My new Corrado VR6 (Revell model with photos)
PaulV replied to MonkeyVR6's topic in General Car Chat
Hi Does anyone have one of these (or similar) for sale at the moment. Preferably as new as it's for someone's birthday! Thanks Paul -
Might be a noob question, but when I turn the key the Oil light keeps flashing until I start up, at which point it goes away - above it suggests it should be constant - is there a problem? Thanks Paul
-
Hi All Apologies for any silly questions... I bought my Corrado a couple of months ago and one thing I have noticed is that in the part of the engine bay just under the wiper motors I think I may have a couple of missing black plastic covers - there is only one short-ish cover to the right hand side leaving a fair bit of stuff exposed - it looks to me that there should be other covers to make up the entire with of the engine bay, right? Presumably these are these easy to get hold of second hand? how many makes up the entire set? And what are these actually known as? Thanks! Paul
