  4. I've seen it in the flesh. it is smart. It was made by a group of apprentices at Karmann as a project. They have recently fitted it with an engine and the guy who looks after the car collection uses it a a little run around on the grounds of Karmann. Sweeeeeeeeeeet! I think this looks awesome! Just me? so what :D
  5. Jim, I remember Eric saying they were fitted to US spec cars due to the design of the seat/lap belt. Alot of car users who have this style of belt don't use the part that goes over the waist and therefore they tend to slide down if involved in an accident. Stefan
  6. Will second what Dec says, I'm doing the same at the end of the month with JMR. Have all the bits off ebay
  7. It depends if they are selling it for spares/repairs or a running car.... Has the owner advertised a price?
  8. Sounds like your clutch cylinder is going or has gone. Had exactly the same thing happen to my sisters Mk IV Golf and obviously I got the blame for it.
  9. So even more reason for him to offer to pay. :brickwall: If someone were to have done it on purpose, then there would been a reason. He doesn't sound like the brightest person around! Keep on at him. Have a look at this if he doesn't pay... http://www.hmcourts-service.gov.uk/info ... /index.htm Stefan
  10. Surely your manager should back you up....?
  11. The guy who helped her said he was a 'mechanic'.
  12. I thought I'd share my girlfriends misfortune with her Polo which she has owned from new. She currently owns a 2004 VW Polo Twist with about 71000 on the clock, 90% of which is from motorway driving. At the end of last year whist driving her gear box failed and she was stuck in the middle of the road. In order to get the car off the road they had to force it into neutral and in doing so knackered the clutch. Two months ago the ABS pump failed and two days ago the car failed it MOT as the left head lamp had melted in the casing!!! She has spent just over £2000 in about 14 months. Time to get rid of it! Now looking for a Mk IV Golf. Topic posted below.... viewtopic.php?f=14&t=71549 Stefan

  18. I've just been to see family in Poland. Petrol has jumped up to the same price as here give or take 3-4p. In most areas they earn half of what we do so they are really feeling the strain Not suprising 40% of the cars there run on LPG.
