    Which Seats??

Not necessarily. If you are patient some old 'rocco frames will turn up eventually. They are a direct fit and unless you is a lard arse will give a nice driving position when on the lowest setting.

    Which Seats??

How about my solution... Look for a pair of recaro's from an Evo 6. They are basically the same as the Recaro 'speed' range and cost me a piddling £200. Fantastically comfy and look almost oe.
  3. Annoyingly I've only got lo res shots bud. That's all I've got at the moment. There's a set of 17's that were going on fleabay the other day. I never knew that they were magnesium centres. Not bad spec really (titanium bolts and magnesium centres..)
  4. Actually that whole first paragraph doesn't make things sound much better.... lol
  5. I read the title and lol at work.. Boss thinks I mental now. Can't help you wit the CAT problem though.
  6. They look excellent (I was a little skeptical aswell).. Congrats
  7. I found mine on ebay for a tenner.. tip top and had a pressure gauge with active marker. Keep an eye out on there first.
  8. Damn shame.. loved your car. Still you were incredibly lucky. Lottery tonight... may I suggest a trip to the newsagent.
  9. That's one ugly mo fo. I've got carrotts stuck in my teeth now.
  10. Not particularly no. Any chance you'd have a spare ruler... five minutes and a half decent digicam?? Naturally a couple of beer tokens would be offered for the service (or a donation to the site if you'd prefer)
  11. Ok, I'm getting there but need a little help from my peers. I received this from KNN today.... Paul, good news ish at last. Have got the Template and need your address to post for a trial fit. A slight problem is that the current inlet holes on the plate will need to be made slightly larger to take the tube, once the trial fit is complete. This leaves insufficient plate in some areas to stop it bowing the edges when being welded. The main area is the water inlet in the centre. We can incorporate this in the manifold itself. However we dont know the hole centres to do this. Would like to chat on the phone when you go to Trial fit. Could you also send a pic of the head close up and square on with the water outlet uncovered. Could you also make the pic as big as possible 1mb+ with a rule to show scale . I figured that it would be better for me to supply KNN with the lower part of the manifold to take all the measurements from. I'd also like to take the measurements etc but don't have a spare head and haven't got the time to strip my car down this weekend. Does anyone have a head and could help me out on this one?
  12. Ahh.. that'll be "if you have to ask...."
  13. How much do BJV charge per set of 4? I've got 3 piece and want them recondishononinginged
  14. Yeah.. thanks, I saw that the other day. All useful stuff. All I seem to be doing at the moment is saving and buying bits to complete the set up. KNN have been a little slow in that I'm still waiting for a template to check against the head but have explained that they are so cheap as it's all done as a cobble. We agreed yesterday that I'd send my carbs off to be jetted, cleaned and spaced now and also send my ITG backing plate so they can cut the holes to fit. It should only be another month before I'm ready to do the conversion. I'm currently trying to work out how I'm going to fit ram pipes on and what length they should be... I'm a bit stumped there. I still need some detailed conversion pics so I can work out where to mount everything and how much/what pipe I'll need (if anyone can help?) Ta Paul
  15. Me to.. I keep thinking about them bloody things.
  16. I'll be able to let you know how bike carbs work out shortly. I'm changing the pump, regulator, manifold, carbs (obviously)..
  17. I used to work for jag (breifly.. most are vile imo) and they are not quick. the XKR and XJR are pretty fast but even they waft... no neck breakers
  18. Almost identical as the one's I got out of an Evo 6 RS. Sourced some Rocco subframes and wound them to the lowest setting and they are perfect. Great set up and only cost me £200.
  19. Listen and leave the ego at the door and you'll be fine. Gwynnespeed are great! My mates Alastair and John Moffatt (both pirelli ranked/BTRDA class winners) have worked with/driven for Bill for a few years and have only ever said good things. You'll have a fantastic day.. just make sure you report back on it!
  20. Like I did when taking them off to clean underneath.. doh!
  21. Can I have a pm to? mines a little stiff and my girlfriend keeps telling me to lube it up.
  22. ya see I don't agree... a & b) misconception surely.. there's loads of old valvers lurking around for no money.. certainly easier to find than a good golf. It seems like you can take your pick with rado's at the moment. c) I'm finding the basic stuff easily enough. Suspension, brakes and engine equipment is all golf mk2. d) That's what I think.... I should have been more specific. I'm not talking about all singing all dancing track cars that people have poured thousands into. I'm on about the likes of joe public that wants a cheapish second car to use/strip and get healthy before enjoying on a track day. Budget of about 3k including prep (same as me) must be able to drive there and back. RWD is overated if you ask me. Fun for dicking about but a well set up C is fairly neutral and is a great handler.
