  1. Spotted a nice dark blue VR6 in Berwick today, K1 RDO (great plate :salute: ). Had a Corrado-forum.net sticker in the back window, anyone want to claim this one  ? Jamie '93 Aqua blue VR6
  2. Would definitely echo what's already been said, I test drove a 98 'Teg about a month ago. Fantastic car to drive, would love to own one, but the VR6 is by far the easier car to live with. Those times when you just want the car to get you home with the minimum of hassle - that's when the VR6 is the only car you'd want. The Integra just seems like a much harder car to get the performance out of, you do seem to have to work it a lot harder. Saying that, the sound when you do is superb  For a trackday car, or as a second car I'd love to have an Integra, but for a daily driver I'll be sticking with the VR for a wee while yet :) Jamie '93 Aqua blue VR6

    R32 test drive

I was followed onto a dual carriageway by a black Mk4 Golf recently, he had been sitting a bit close behind, so I floored it, the Golf stayed more or less where it was until I hit 70, at which point I eased off and watched him go past - shiny new R32 rather than the GTi I thought it was at first... No idea if he was pushing it, but it certainly wasn't any slower than the Corrado. Hoping to test drive an R32 later this year, would probably be my ideal replacement for the VR if I could afford it... Jamie '93 Aqua blue VR6
  5. 3.5 V6, 276bhp, RWD, strut braces, Nissan reliability, those looks Would make a nice VR6 replacement  [EDIT] OK, maybe the reliability aint all it's cracked up to be then  [/EDIT] Jamie '93 Aqua blue VR6
  6. I tried a couple of 200SX Tourings before I finally found my VR6, in terms of speed they must be pretty similar, but the SX always felt like a much bigger car. The brakes on 1 of the 2 were superb, much better than the VR! You can also buy a much newer Nissan than you can a Corrado, I think they only stopped making them a couple of years ago? The interior is OK, but certainly less practical than the Corrado, fine if you don't ever need to carry passengers, luggage, but personally I prefer the flexibility of the Corrado. Always liked the 300s, but the thought of a 350Z is very tempting... :D Jamie '93 Aqua blue VR6
  7. Quick question, would a steering wheel from a Mk2 Golf GTi fit a Mk3 turbodiesel CL without any modification required? Or, even better, anyone know where to pick up a Mk3 GTI wheel (or Corrado wheel if that would fit) cheaply? Thanks, Jamie '93 Aqua blue VR6
  8. Beautiful green Storm, N447OOV ( I think?!), spotted today pulling out of the Tesco car park in Linlithgow. You very kindly let me cross the pedestrian crossing in front of you, when all I wanted to do was have a closer look at the car  :D Jamie '93 Aqua blue VR6
  9. Forget the Corrado, I want a Toyota truck :D Not a bad article, wonder what it will do for resale values? Jamie '93 Aqua blue VR6
  10. Spoke to one of the researchers on Driven (the Channel 4 show in case you're wondering) about a year ago, apparently he was really keen on the Corrado VR6, so maybe there's hope yet for an article whenever the next series starts... TBH, I would have sold him mine had I won that Evo VII  Jamie '93 Aqua blue VR6
  11. Anyone know if there is likely to be a tie-in feature with Top Gear magazine? Another one whos looking forward to seeing the programme :D Jamie '93 Aqua blue VR6
  12. This weeks Auto Express magazine has a short feature on buying a secondhand coupe, as you might expect, everyone's favourite VW  makes an appearance. The VR6 is described as "awesome" :D Jamie '93 Aqua blue VR6
  13. I always thought Storms only ever appeared in N reg at the latest, idly browsing Auto Trader I came across this: P reg Storm Anyone on here got one as new as this? Standard disclaimer, car is nothing to do with me, although I wouldn't mind owning it :D Jamie '93 Aqua blue VR6
  14. Very nice looking car, I love the wheels, but then I'm biased as my old Scirocco GTX had them (standard fit for a couple of years at least). Never seen them on a Corrado though. Jamie '93 Aqua blue VR6
  15. I've got exactly the same problem with my VR6, oil consumption must be around the 1 litre/1000km mark, if not worse  It's been checked over for leaks, but nothing was found, so I guess that means it must be burning it - if this is the case would the performance feel noticeably worse? I had it tested at 191bhp on the rolling road earlier this year. Getting a bit annoyed with it, severely tempted to get Star to give it a going over, even though the price might be a bit severe  Jamie '93 Aqua blue VR6
  16. Knockhill had an RS2 for a while, used as a doctors car I think  This month's evo has a test of the Audi A3 V6 (247bhp), the general gist of the article is that it's a nice cruiser, but Audi have left plenty of room for an S3 (which it might be expected to be badged as). A 350bhp twin turbo RS3 sounds good though! :D Jamie '93 Aqua blue VR6
  17. Spotted this one parked outside Bannatynes health club in Livingston most mornings, looks nice! Jamie '93 Aqua blue VR6

  19. The new style Integra Type R (in black  ) would be a good replacement. Still have an ambition to own an Evo someday, I love the newer ones (VII and VIII), the V and VI are maybe a bit "in your face". Golf R32 would be a good bet too - one in AutoTrader this week for £17k    Jamie '93 Aqua blue VR6
  20. Just resurrecting this thread as I noticed over on the Mitsubishi Evo Lancer Register forums (http://www.lancerregister.com/) there is a group buy for the Road Angel at £275 + £6 p&p inc 1 years subscription. Any takers? Would prefer to know a bit more about the seller personally :? Jamie '93 Aqua blue VR6

    Diesel VR6

Bizarrely the car now sounds fine again :? The noise did sound very "tappety". It's still running the original chain AFAIK, although I did get the V belt changed last year. What's the deal with the chain tensioners, are they expensive/difficult to fit/all of the above? The mileage is just coming up for 95k. Got it checked in for the start of next week to get looked at. Thanks for the replies, Jamie '93 Aqua blue VR6

    Diesel VR6

No, before you say it, I didn't put diesel in my VR6  , it just sounds like someones transplanted the VR for a clattery old diesel engine. It's only become really noisy the past couple of days, at idle it sounds really clattery. The car is due to go into the garage to be getting checked over for a small oil leak, is it possible the two are related, maybe the oil pump packed up, hence the rough sounds (guessing wildly here)? Any suggestions gratefully received, car will be going into get checked out ASAP so any advice would be great. Cheers, Jamie '93 Aqua blue VR6
  23. Ditto, have been considering one for a while now. Jamie '93 Aqua blue VR6
  24. Got a few of the videos (mostly the Corrado ones  ) stored on my PC, I can stick them on my Blueyonder webspace if he'd like... Jamie '93 Aqua blue VR6
  25. This months evo claims that VW are going to show off a Golf coupe at the Frankfurt show next month, quote "rekindling memories of the Corrado, which could slot neatly into the market when the Audi TT moves up scale". Sounds interesting... :) Jamie '93 Aqua blue VR6
