I saw these listed on a popular online auction site and im trying to identify exactly what they are. They were listed as 'bbs 2 piece split rims' with 'staggered fitment 7.5 and 8.5x17. 5x120 pcd' but from the pic Im not entirely sure whether they are RMs or not. Opinions please :? bbs.JPG[/attachment:3lcp9dgc]

I got me a trade card :D :D :D The bloke didnt even ask whether I had a job, never mind whether I was a mechanic or not. Just needed my name and address. Result!!

So is there any way for us non-mechanic types to swindle a trade card?

Yup, paid £99 for mine only last week. Fantastic bit of kit with a lifetime guarantee too.....which is nice You think it maybe varies from store to store then? where did u get urs from, maybe I could give them a ring... I remember being told by Halfords staff that they rotate certain offers every 1 or 2 months, can't remember precisely but I was looking for a liesure battery which they had on offer. I had just missed the offer by a day and he told me it would be back on in the next period. Worth asking the staff? Aye I'll maybe go back down and see if any of the staff have a clue. The 120pc set was on offer for £99 when I went the other day but there were no offers on the 150pc :(

Ah I see, I knew I'd seen OBD2 mentioned in relation to Corrado, must have been to do with the diagnostics plug. Cheers Toad -

Will have a look on the website now :) thanks Supercharged, do you mean http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_165418_langId_-1_CarSelectorCatalogId__CarSelectorGroupId__varient__categoryId_159924_crumb_33958-76859-76867_parentcategoryrn_159924 Seems to be the biggest set they do. No mention of 'Pro' though... -
Time to revive this old thread! After 6 months sat wallowing on my drive due to the damage from an electrical fire, my Corrado will be MOT'd, serviced and back on the road by the end of the week. The damage was mainly to the fuse box and the headlight loom, but since I've got the dash out Ive had the whole dash loom, fusebox and headlight loom replaced. The mirror polished D90's are ready to go on and Ive got some new tyres. Considering the car has been sat for so long are there any things I should do when its back on the road (ie. running it in)?
-
I've decided Im going to invest some money in some tools so that I can do some of the work on my Corrado and keep my running costs down. I've got very limited experience with car mechanics (helped the mechanic do my service and change my ARB bushes) but I'd like to learn. Ive read Hilliers fundamentals of vehicle mechanics from cover to cover and Im gonna try and get my hands on a Bentley manual so its time to get my hands dirty :) My question to you all is, considering I've just left uni and have absolutely no tools, what sort of stuff will I need for performing basic maintenance/repair? I dont want to spend an absolute fortune and I understand that tools are expensive. Are there any decent 'starter bundles' that you can recommend, or should I get my bits individually? Any help or advice is greatly appreciated guys and girls Oh and ive got a VR6 incase that makes a difference (ie. plug removal tool) Jamie :D Edit - Incase your wondering what tools have been recommended but can't be arsed searching the whole thread, this is what we have so far :) 3/8'' stubby flexi ratchet spanner Halfords Professional 150 piece Socket/Ratchet Set 1/2'' drive breaker bar VR6 spark plug removal tool molegrips VAG COM Diagnostics Cable torque wrench
