  1. I take it that as part of your boost return removal you've included the 90 degree hose off the bottom of the throttle body? If not then this is what will be dampening the noise. You need to let the TB dump straight to atmosphere...-don't worry about that hose or the gauze insert. Also, the smaller the pulley then the more boost you'll be venting so it will be louder....standard pulley should be 7-10psi though and this should still be easily heard....
  2. I;ve heard that if you make your G60 sound like a turbo by putting a BOV on it, it will also drive like a turbo, - power delivery will be on/off....
  3. I bet i can guess what kind of a cooler this is, - golf one by any chance Daz???
  4. Yeah Daz, i reckon i'll be coming down again soon to abuse Egor etc anyway......Anyone got any idea where i can get my hands on a white label ecu????
  5. My car, (when you give it some beans), is doing a strange thing. Basically, when you rev it hard through second it pulls 14.5 psi nicely, but then into third and it wont pull any more than 10psi, if you back off for a minute then try again, it'll pull 1bar again...I reckon this must be the map sensor reaching its limit as my ecu is red label, so it must be retarding the timing slightly to cope, although strangely enough it does seem load dependent, - (only really noticable at end of 2nd gear). I am aware that the boys at pitstop are developing a clamp to stop the ecu's doing this, but in the mean time is there any thing i can do to to stop this? Spec of the car is in the signature and as of yet it hasn't really been setup, but otherwise drives and pulls pretty well.....Any help from tuners/forum members welcome....
  6. i've got some vids of a drive by, but no idea how to host em...
  7. It only ever blows outta the TB, never sucks, and it closes when the throttle is applied, so boost only goes straight thru the TB, never outta the bottom until you let off and iit gets dumped, hence the noise....
  8. Def. go for the integra, although FTO's are nice to drive, the integra has been labelled 'the best handling FWD car ever' - also that VTEC is just an awesome piece of engineering....Would have to agree on the MR2 turbo though,- came really close to buying one of these and had a good lengthy test drive,- they are blistering in a straight line (5.6 to 60???) and a hoot in the dry with a quality turn-in etc....
  9. Forget the blue ignitors too, - oe leads are much better and half the cost..........
  10. Just looked on the diesel geek site, - he charges $175 dollars a kit!!!! I am sure someone here could knock em out cheaper....
  11. daves16v, - this sounds like a great idea, - i too would be interested if you can do this. Although it looks simple in theory, it would no doubt be tricky to do bits like cutting new grooves accurately in the tube with little experience in metal work..That and getting someone else to do it for you always seems like a more attractive prospect...
  12. Right, got this off the Canada corrado owners club site.... http://www.corrado-club.ca/mods/ss.html Can anyone who knows about this mod confirm this is the easy and/or most effective way of doing it???? Cheers.
  13. Having searched the archived content on short shifters for the cable change box, i discovered that a couple of members came really close to posting a description on how to mofify the existing setup to reduce the throw. It is apparently a really easy and satisfying mod, - a welcome altenative to splashing out over £100 on other kits which don't even work.... So, is there anyone who would be willing to provide the info so that i can write it up and give it to the moderators to add to the 'HOW TO' section of this site? - It would be a massively popular addition i reckon.....Thanks in advance, - WILL
  14. As this post was originally about the G60 kits, can we get a price for these???? Would def. be up for a group buy cause these prices sound goooood.....
  15. Yeah mine is shit hot, - never missed a beat, got it cheap thu work too
  16. I reckon the road angels are def the way to go cause they are GPS so not illegal, but also come with in built mobile lasar detection so in theory they'll protect u from getting gunned too. Daz, - if u are not keen on the subsciption then try and get your hands on a road angel 1, - my buddie's got one and he dosn't have to pay any kinda sub. Also, the revisions came with the lasar detection as well, so its pretty much the same as a new one....
  17. Daz, - did Liam not tell you he's nicked my new road angel as long as the golfs down at the shed??? - Get it off him for a day and see what you think. Bottom line with these things is that any which use GPS will detect any camera aimed at your car, facing either way, so if its one aimed at drivers on the other side of the road it won't bother notifying you. Any units which don't use GPS and claim to 'detect' cameras like the cheaper snoopers, are not fool proof, get shit loadsa inteference and often pick cameras up as your underneath them, or not at all......
  18. Good thing is to get a wide band one put in, - this gives you a much more gradual and accurate reading, meaning that if your engine is leaning out, - it wont let you know 2 seconds before it goes BANG........
  19. On my G60, when dropping from fourth into third, there comes a funny clunking sound, not crunching of gears, but just a resistance to go in. This dosnt happen at lower revs, but i obviously dont abuse the box by doing this at silly revs either, - just say for example, a normal overtake shift-down....My old G60 never did this, - any ideas????????? Cheers guys.
  20. I am running a similar setup to 'Joe M' on my golf with front adjustable koni ssk's, - ( i know its different to a C in weight etc), thing is, they seem to be really pretty bumpy whatever, - my front offside window is starting to rattle like a b**ch.....Is this just the sacrifice for this kit, or could there be somthing wrong???
  21. Providing he is running a 68, change this to a 65m pulley, then get some red-top injectors so it wont lean out, and Bilal's redtop sns chip to map the whole thing. Sorted.
  22. I have got precisely the same badge on my grill, - i 've had it ages, but got it originally from trimsport....As for the gearknob, i have got a silver golfball gearknob with the vw motorsport disc in the top if you are interested? Lemme know...........
  23. Yeah Beav, - u know i was ghetto promoting the products.....This is indeed a second inlet adaptor from the good boys at pitstop.....
  24. To keep the boost return and have twin inlets, you'd need some trick piping which basically incoporated another pipe coming off the retun which could lead to a 2nd filter. If u did this though, the inlet for this filter would only be the same size as the retun pipe (2" or somthing), or would have to reduce to this size, which wouldnt be great. If you dont want the sound of the removed boost return, just attach some ducting from the bottom of the throttle body and down out of the engine bay. This should reduce the annoying noise on half throttle and then free up your charger for a proper size second inlet like this.....Its not that neat but it works a treat....
