Mine said the same......It was still a pain in the ass to fit though. I don't wanna put u off cause when working they are nifty bits of kit, you may just need to do a few mods to your transmission tunnel etc to get it to work properly. I eventually sold mine to Majik on this forum and he did the aforementioned mods, so i'm sure he can advise you.....

Shouldn't be smoke coming out of the crank case breather, - just oil vapour...As for the kit for twin inlets, Pitstop and G-werks do a sleeve thingy which bolts into the charger, then just run 3" ducting from this onto the second filter wherever u wanna locate it.

Who was saying they like MK2 G60's , - how bout my edition blue.....? -Pic looks better if you click on it!!!

Haway the golf boys, - must admit that with my konis set to stiff (ohh er), the car really is amazing in the corners, - it just digs in with perfect balance and makes you feel like you've actually got your hands on the front wheels. The corrado will no doubt feel more secure than a mk1 but it is essentailly a mk2 with more weight so surely the golf is the ultimate? - (especially stripped out and braced up eh daz) Gonna run away now before i get beaten up by all the C owners........LOL

Can't say fairer than that...

Good for ratios are either the 20vt or the mk3 gti box. Both allow 60 in 2nd gear i think. To use the gti one i think you need to modify the driveshaft flanges though...

Do you mean the big right angle with a wire gauze insert? That comes off to let the tb release to atmosphere. (Or you can leave it on to dampen the dumping sound if you want).

Yeah those bbs rx's that he has on there arn't too shabby either...

Just realised the e-bay link...

Is that still for sale mate? If so i would be very interested. Have you got any pics you could mail or pm me? Cheers.

PhatVR6, don't wanna take the p**s, but do you reckon that you're gonna have any time in the near future to put up a quick 'how to' with a couple of pictures/diagrams? I know loadsa people on the forum would be interested if you could...

I definately lost patience with my B&M which is why i sold it to majik! Glad you're having more luck with it than i was mate  Isn't there some way you can mod the standard setup for a shorter throw??? G-man???
-
I've heard that a shrick 276 is the way to go, - any more than this and you'll mess with the power band too much and make the engine all peaky.

That's the s**t. Was thinking of running a metal pipe from the flexi hose, past the rad, along the front then attaching a second filter to the end of it in front of the battery. It's gonna be quite a long induction route but it's better than blanking it off surely???

Thinking of rigging up twin inlets on my nu car using flexi hose on other side of charger with boost return system etc removed. Has anyone got any pictures of a twin filter setup or had any experience with it? - Would love to know what that sounds like on full song...

Apparently the BMC carbon dynamic airbox BMW Z3 fitment will go on. - Probably best just to attach it to the existing flexi hose then run a cold air feed (which these kits gotta have) through the hole where the carbon canister was...

Ha Ha! Let me see what i can do...

Got my new car and am just having some work done on it at the moment. Found out somthing the other day which is kinda relevant to this post. Turns out the girlfriends parents are real close friends of Mike Quaife and his wife. Met him the other night at her house (he was in a porshe 911)...and he said that if i went down to the factory he'd do a deal on a gearbox with atb etc for me!!!!!! Don't hate me guys....

Cheers for the support guys. Drove around for a couple of hours but to no avail so i guess it's up to the fuzz now. Fingers are firmly crossed....

Right, the unspeakable had happened. My Golf G60 was stolen last night. Most people you tell that your car has been nicked offer sympathies but don't really understand. Hopefully you guys on here come closer to knowing how i feel, and knowing how you can't describe the beyond gutted feeling you get when somthing you have poured this much time care and love into is just not where it was the night before. For this reason i'll be brief. If any of you guys hear about it (details below) whether it's parts for sale or the whole car, or anyone in the industry sees/hears about it, please let me know. Co-incidentally, it was nicked from Beckenham in Kent which is in the London borough of Bromley, so if anyone sees it knocking around... Details are as follows: MK2 Golf Dark Blue, 3 door, G60 conversion, 5 spoke compomotive alloys registration G769UKK. My details are Will Sansom tel: 07764612059 mailto:[email protected]. Please guys, keep your eyes and ears open. - I appreciate it. P.s. Anyone without an alarm/immob. get one now. It only takes one time, - it was next on my to-buy list. Cheers.

Going to Run what you brung this sunday at Pod, and as its the first time taking the G60 on a quarter mile i was wondering what others have found is the best way to use the less than suitable gearbox ratios. Is it best to rev 1st to the point where it dies (4500) then get out of it as quick as possible , or just redline it? Any opinions welcome... :)

Which would be best 10/40 or 15/40 oil for 16v on 126k miles
mambomonkey replied to purple-rado's topic in Suppliers Forum
The first number eg '15' denotes how thick the oil is when cold and the second '40' when hot, so an oil is only as thick as these figures. Roughly speaking, the greater the distance between these two figures, the broader the range of driving that can be done, hence new porsches using 0w 50 e.t.c. But for an engine of this nature/age i'd say a 15w 40 or 50 part-synthetic would be the kindest... -
Doing an oil change and just bought some mobil1 motorsort formula 15W50. Thought this would be good because its thick enough (15) for when the engine's cold but can take hard driving when warm (50). What oil do the rest of you use?
