  1. have this system fitted to a 300bhp vr6,vortech v2sq.proper different league to lsd :D :D .problem free for 10 yrs.fitted by vince back in the day.only issue being when i got more wrap around the sc pulley i had to up the low/med/high % setting as the sc was boosting a bit harder/earlier.the launch setting DOES work :cuckoo: :shock: any questions,happy to answer :wave:

    ABS sensor

    i have the same symptoms plus a buzzin abs unit.changed the sensor as abs light kept coming on randomly :( .gsf sensors eh? :nono: last time i had a gsf sensor fitted i had to alter the racelogic rpm/speed in kmh -should have picked up on it then :brickwall: :brickwall: going to euro or vw tomorrow after i knock the gsf sensor out of the drivers side wheel :norty: :norty: .
  4. had same symptoms-turned out to be cracked and bent thrust arm.
  5. does any other pads other than tarox fit the 6 pot set ups?using tarox 305mm discs.at 157 quid a set of pads-rather expensive :( .
  6. maybe this will help.my symptoms were crunching into reverse/tough and really had to press the clutch pedal to the floor to get 1st-2nd. armed with a new standard luk clutch from europarts,took the box off to find the arm that the thrust bearing sits in had cracked :( .friday night and nowhere open :? ,decided to weld it and refit.had to skim the fly as the cracked arm was mating the clutch to the fly on the piss (distorted fly face} .problem solved 8) .linkage spot on/slick changes/feel. :D :D upping power on your vr should not be a problem either.had a helix race in to take the 300+ bhp{sc}.400 miles no problems'even with launch control 8) 8) .
  7. just to shed some light on rebuilds.i got the washing machine rumble from my v2 sc.decided to bite the bullet and rebuild.got my engineer mate to replace bearings with uprated ones-now its on boost as soon as you blip the throttle :D :D :D .all gears/internal good condition-minimal wear.on examining the bearings the main ones on the shaft had some resistance when turning it by hand.regular oil changes and non overtensioned belts seems to help the life of the sc 8) .
  8. any lateral wobble on the water pump pulley?this will shreek like hell.i have just had my vortech bearings uprated-believe me if they were mashed you would hear a chatter bearing noise a lot louder than normal.is the ribbed belt tensioned properly?over tensioning will drastically shorten thier life span.
  9. had similar issues to you herisites.does your expansion bottle hold pressure when engine is flat cold?points to airlock/leak.mine was seaping coolant when engine cooled down.on investigation the 'O' ring in the thermo housing behind the temp sensor had perished.
  10. poor rpm signal was traced to faulty wiring to the throttle switch on my vr sc :( .also they only revved it to 6k :? .stealth raised the limiter to around 7k on all ratios :D .as anybody that has a vr sc,they pull to the limiter 8) .
  11. off topic slightly,but nevertheless.what ratios/strenght are in a stealth/gemini 6speed box on a vr? :? .
  12. had a similar prob on a mk3 vr.new throttle switch and wiring to it solved the lol in acceleration when blipping the go pedal.hope this helps. :D .
  13. i've found,like you eatthis a sc vr tends to lunch wheel bearings.especially the back-i am for ever nipping them up.
  14. my symptoms were high reving when the engine was cold/revs hunting when hot.new switch and wiring to throttle switch cured it-instant power!!!
