I've done a major redesign on the Corrado World Registry, come and check it out, and add your ride to the database if you want. Yes, I know there is another database in NL, but I like mine better ;) http://www.corradoworld.com/registry/ Any questions, comments or suggestions just give me a shout! Thanks to Andi for giving me permission to plug my Registry.

Nice way to spend a Sunday... changing the rod bearings
spoier replied to spoier's topic in General Car Chat
About 6 hours plus some breaks. That includes cleaning and painting the oil pan as well :D Skye -
Put the car up on jack stands today and changed the rod bearings This is what they look like after 210,000 miles I'm sure they are the originals, no oil hole. Actually better than I expected considering. 3000 rpm rattle is almost completely gone now, should be good for another 50k miles or so hahah. Old bearings were 7/10 thou worn compared to new. Most wear on the top bearings, some copper showing Oil pressure is now up to acceptable levels now .... just under 2 bar at idle and over 4 bar at 3000 rpm. Much better than before. Long weekend road trip coming up to the mountains soon! Skye

Update: I expected snow at home for Xmas in the mountains, but after we got back to Seattle it snowed like 20cm in one day!!! Very unusual for the city as we're right on the Pacific ocean and temps are usually mild, not even below freezing, but that day it was total insanity as people were skidding around with summer or bald tires. Buses in the ditch, trucks against trees, it was hilarious. Of course I still had my killer snow tires on, so I went out and did figure-8 donuts and 4 wheel drifts in the warehouse district on unplowed streets! Hehehe it was great!! I must say the Corrado G60 is a wonderfully balanced car. It understeers a bit which of course is normal for FWD cars, but it felt very neutral when sliding around, and the e-brake brought the tail around in a very controlled manner. Skye

The C did rather well in the snow... of course I bought some dedicated snow/ice tires before heading up "home" :D Skye

Where to buy G60 supercharger parts for DIY rebuild in USA
spoier replied to TajMan's topic in Suppliers Forum
I have a rebuild kit I bought this summer but never used from "alieblang" on ebay for $175 + shipping, you can have it for $175 including shipping Here's the description: I have a pic of all the stuff around here somewhere, I'll upload it tonight Edit: Here we are........ Skye -
Yup, the sensor is mounted on the top of the passenger's side brake cooling duct. Skye

Installed this weekend... couldn't be happier... soaks up little bumps much better than the Eibach springs/KYB shocks that were on there before and yet feels much stiffer when doing some "spiritied" driving. Going to replace the strut bearings next weekend though, the old ones were knackered but I didn't have any replacements on hand. And the ride height needs some tweaking, its a bit high at the back and a bit low at the front. But no rubbing whatsoever and I did not need spacers for my 16x7 BBS wheels. BEFORE: AFTER:

SACHS sporting coilovers set... incredible ride quality Skye

The sensor is mounted on the top of the left hand side brake cooling duct (looking towards FRONT of car)... on my RHD 90 Corrado at least Skye

Try changing the blue water temp sensor. Also do you have AC or have had in the past? When AC kicks on the RPMs are supposed to go up to compensate. Could be some dodgy wiring/sensors/etc to do with that. Could also be a vacuum leak, bad grounds, etc. Skye

What's the stock wheel diameter? The steering will be heavier, but only really at low speeds (parking). The big thing to consider is a smaller wheel "amplifies" all your inputs, so it can be a bit nerve wracking at high speeds with a much smaller wheel. But on the plus side on a slow twisty course its more responsive. So it depends where you're driving and how you like the stock wheel. Skye

Mocal OTSP1T sandwich plate 3/4 - 16 thread. You will need the Golf mk2 filter pipe thing if you are deleting your OE oil/water heat exchanger. I know you're across the pond, but here's what it looks like: http://www.racerpartswholesale.com/mocal.htm Here's a full writeup I did of my oil cooler installation: http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1081928 Skye

Great for the bling factor but provides no performance benefit whatsoever and can cause stress cracks around the holes leading to eventual total brake failure under heavy braking... so check them often and replace when they reach the wear limit mmmkay? Safety first and all that :) Skye
