thanks :D sorry to have read about that Nick :( and I can't help you either - the black front bumper is a mess. It's grazed, the paint is down to the primer in a fair few places (not from my ownership btw!) and also the inner plastic piece with the runners is broken on one side... it's for the bin I think!

they weren't Corrados but neither of my previous cars are still on the road... well, I knew about the Polo cos I put an end to that one but I am sad, although not really surprised, that my Scirocco is no more :( (I am assuming it is no more anyway, as the reg number isn't found - don't think it was ever on a private plate and can't imagine that anyone has put one on it now.)

I like that

that might have been me! 8) I stayed on after the Taplow meet and went for a walk along the river so was on the M4 6-6.30 ish I think - does that time sound about right? If it was me, that is only the second time I have been spotted in 3 years on here  Not sure I can claim to be the other one though - think it was River Road I drove down and Ellington Rd I parked on when I went for the walk edit: so pleased to have (maybe!) been spotted, that I forgot my spot lol.... a classic green one I think, on the M25 today near the A30 junction, about 5.15pm. Reg was N***SOE or maybe SDE

thanks everyone :D turning out to be a cracking long weekend so far... bumpers yesterday, a really good meet in Taplow today (followed by an amble along the river and a doze in the sun, very pleasant!) and then awaiting my return home, was a letter from HMRC advising that I have a sizeable tax rebate on the way! Hope tomorrow is as good lol! Before anyone asks though, the tax rebate isn't going on the car - have a couple of other things to sort unfortunately... it does mean I don't have to feel bad about the set of pressed aluminium number plates I have on the way though! I thought the new bumpers deserved decent plates :) Yes I did find the bumpers on the forum ( :notworthy: ) and bought a few others bits at the same time which haven't made it onto the car yet - I'll get there eventually! The Magnex is in reserve waiting for the current one to disintegrate (can't be long as it has been an MOT advisory for 3 if not 4 years ). The suspension will be sorted when I have the cash... I have already spoken to Dave and Graham about it as I want a suspension overhaul rather than just a drop. Unfortunately though, I have a slight mechanical issue which needs to be sorted first... and don't worry about learning my number plate Judith  I still have a black slam panel, a big dent in the OSF wing and a bonnet which is gradually getting whiter to sort yet! It's funny though, I had got so used to having a black bumper, that today I kept on doing double takes at the car and had to keep reminding myself that it is indeed mine! Yes it is a shame that it always comes down to finances but at least it becomes a project which I can enjoy in stages - I think if I just handed over a fat cheque after however many (many, many!) weeks work to make the car perfect, then I wouldn't appreciate it half as much! I would love to get my car painted one day and have all the rust sorted and parking dents removed so I will watch out for yours being painted ozowen, especially since it's the best colour  In the meantime though, there is plenty left to clean... A couple of photos of the bumpers in daylight... 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfresized IMG_4911.JPG[/attachment:3ejbh804] resized IMG_4914.JPG[/attachment:3ejbh804] Delighted :shades:

zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay, my, oh my, what a wonderful day, plenty of sunshine heading my way, zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay! :sunny: (new bumpers fitted today and a meet tomorrow 8))

Oh happy day!! After about 3.5 years of not getting round to painting my car (for fear of it chewing up something mechanical...), I have finally got rid of most of the harlequin look! My black front bumper has gone and so has the somewhat damaged rear bumper. Neither of the replacements are perfect but to me it is a huge step in the right direction  My cousin kindly helped me fit the replacements (thanks Simon :D) and despite some colourful language, it all went really well; the sun shone all day, there was no blood spilt and nothing went wrong... well there were the usual corroded bolts and rounded screws but nothing that a bit of determination (and some swearing and a drill) couldn’t beat! pmsl i always think the same when i hear that song too  didn't think I could be the only one who had thought that :) one of my favourite songs! How did I not think of that one before?! Queen were great Hopefully I Hate You Right Now won't be my song of the day - off to sort a couple of things on it now. The sun has got his hat on, blue skies... too good to be true? :D

don't know about a forum but I used to have a rocco too, it was a helios blue scala and it was great. Only sold it to make way for the C. Had lots of happy hours driving that car and would like another sometime, maybe a Mk1 next time. Good luck with yours, hope you have fun driving it til you can get your hands on that G60 :D

saw you the other day as I queued to get into the business park and Magnum (I know the reg plate isn't quite right for that name, but it makes me smile) was looking lovely! I love all red lights on black rados so I'll look out for them next time I see you :D -
I have heard that they are excellent there... more evidence then. Would love to see what they could do with my car but I would want all the panels to be the same colour before I take it

Were you passing a truck transporting mirrors lady?!  I was in the Jetta so no, but I did wonder if someone had nicked mine overnight! Had to check when I got home, just to be sure......

saw a blackberry C last sunday (30th) on M1 travelling south somewhere near Loughborough - about 4pm I think. Think it had dark rear lights

likewise - can't wait to go out on a track again! Favourite shot of mine from the day (despite the paintwork...) :D on track at Castle Combe.jpg[/attachment:1ejuuwwq] Not sure I'd want to wear a helmet... If my G60 died I'd want to go with it... I thought it felt weird too. There wasn't really room to put it on in the car so got out, put it on and then hit my head getting back in  I felt like such an idiot at the time but soon forgot about it - only just remembered now  We had to wear trousers and long sleeves too and it was a hot day but more than worth it to go out on the track :D
