Red L reg a few cars ahead of me in the queue on the A12 near Martlesham about 5.30pm today. I was in my TT though.

N reg in Kesgrave at about 5.30pm today. Mine's SORNed so I was in my daily.

Not seen one for ages and then 2 spots within a couple of days! I saw an N plate Bordeaux with a for sale sign in the window driving in to Tesco in Martlesham a few days ago and I followed an M plate (ice grey violet? - my colour knowledge is a little rusty) valver about 45 minutes ago along the A14. Really nice to see one on the road just now - mine has been off the road for quite some time and I miss it!

Spotted a white H reg (flavour unknown) in Headley about 5pm on Saturday. Goes without saying that I wasn't in mine! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Spotted a dark C (black or classic green maybe?) on its way out of Headley about 2.30pm yesterday. Annoyingly I wasn't in mine and was driving my dad's nondescript silver Passat

Spotted a green one westbound on M4 somewhere nr Slough about half an hr ago

Hahaha! Yes, still alive but you're right - I've not been on here for a while. Mine has been off the road since before Christmas which is making me a bit sad - I really miss driving it. Hope you're well.

Thanks - that explains some of them. Also saw at least 4 E-types, a couple of Americans things (not good on naming those!), loads of old 911s, some very old Austins, Lagondas etc and a Ferrari. Certainly cheered up my journey!

So what show have I missed this weekend? Just seen an awful lot of lovely cars heading south on the A34 including a nugget rado which looked to be in convoy with a Golf and a Beetle.

Just spotted a C northbound nr Minehead jct on M5. I'm heading south in my cousin's T5 so no waves. Only caught a very brief glimpse but think it's a black one. Sunny day, road trip, camping later and a Corrado spotted. Happy days!

This sounds superb! I'd love be there but have a couple of things I can't miss this summer so need to check dates and keep my fingers crossed that nothing clashes...

Just spotted a C heading into Basingstoke on the A339. Only got the briefest of glimpses but it looked to be Classic Green.

Looking great, Michael. Pure vanity... I think many of us have been guilty of that at some point. I know I certainly didn't need those centre gauges... Hope you'll be posting pics of the exhaust when it arrives.

A big step forward towards what? Previously, the remaining tax for that car was part of the purchase so was therefore linked to the new owner, so what has changed? The only reason I can think of where it would be important is if they have something in mind to help combat those who avoid paying... a way to link owners with tax payers. I don't see how this will help currently - in fact, if someone doesn't intend to pay, then it just means the car has no tax from the moment they buy it. Unless the software is already in place to track owners v payers? Monthly DD is convenient for those who wish to spread the payment over more than 6 months, so yes, of course I can see the benefit for those people. No tax disc in the window definitely cleans up the look of the car, but I'm pretty sure that for most motorists, the only day they'll care is the day they don't have to put the new disc in the screen... That said, I do think the new method is better. I'm just naturally cynical of any new scheme where it appears that the populous is paying more (especially when things are being paid twice) and the beneficiaries are government/agency/authority, esp. if it involves motorists!

What is the point of it? Seems completely unnecessary to me and just another way for them to earn money from us. Isn't there enough paperwork in the world already? Perhaps I'm missing something... anyone have an idea?

I was lucky enough to go to Williams F1 for lunch and a tour yesterday and since the sun was shining, decided to take the back roads. Driving through Wantage on my way back around 3pm, I saw an L reg C with clear rears. Think it may have been green but the sun was in my eyes! Shame I wasn't in mine...

There was a silver VR at a scrappy fairly nr me. I tried to buy the whole thing but was told it was a victim of the scrappage scheme. Such a shame as the only thing wrong with it was a blown head gasket. Kris and I made a couple of trips and filled my Jetta twice over with parts. Got some good deals but they wanted too much for some of the parts... I remember them commenting how many good cars had met their end too early, including that Corrado.

I'd love to be there but a lack of MOT and a weekend away with work puts paid to that... Hope those of you who go have fun.
