  1. lol, apologies! Many thanks to Jim for fitting them for me :)
  2. I also stopped to get petrol today and a guy started asking me about my C. He asked if it was standard (a bit of a dig at the ride height I think!) and then said he thought it was in quite good condition. Cue standard reply of 'don't look too closely'... Thinking about it, he was talking about his mate's R32 at Santa Pod too - it's not the same guy cruising round petrol stations is it?! A petrol tanker was there too and even that guy was having a good look at the car. Made me smile esp as I was thinking how typical it is that the car is filthy at the moment :D
  3. I'm not keen on orange and purple as a colour combination so finally, after 4 years of meaning to, I've got some new rear light clusters! I bought these from Jim and I'm very pleased with them :D I've been meaning to clean the car and get some decent photos but I still haven't got round to it, so thought I'd post a couple of photos which I have got. They do seem to look a bit darker in these pics than they really are. Not sure this is the most flattering angle for my C either - look at that ride height  2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfresized tinted rear lights 28-07-09 001.jpg[/attachment:2q7fezgc] resized tinted rear lights 28-07-09 005.jpg[/attachment:2q7fezgc] Thanks also to Jim and Steve for fitting them for me at Castle Combe :)
  4. looks like it is coming along really well Tom - not be long before you can take it for a spin  the arch looks excellent btw
  5. why did I leave?!! Sounds like it was an amazing day :D Reminds me of the fun I had on track when the Cayman was launched. Thanks for the write up Roger - interesting to hear it all. And I'm jealous too... :)
  6. think the nice weather must be bringing them out cos I saw 2 over the weekend  classic green M***LYE at the roundabout just outside the Historic Dockyard in Chatham on Fri 7th about 6.15pm blackberry N***WBA (I think) on the A415 by the Curbridge turnoff in Witney on Sat 8th about 11.15am wasn't in mine either time though so no waves back
  7. Wendy, that is fantastic news! Congratulations! Looking fwd to hearing about the race experiences soon :D
  8. wow, that is quite a shopping list Tom! :salute:
  9. really like your car Andy and think the all red rears are spot on! And now has a clean filler neck too, good stuff! 8)
  10. might have been! 8) I can't wait to go out on a track again... there is a small metal band tucked just inside the outer edge of the rubber, just pull that out first and then you can remove the rest of it. I was told to plug the filler neck with a rag and it was very good advice as dirt went everywhere when I removed mine. Have fun!
  11. well, I've been at the car with a toothbrush again  Yesterday I decided to clean around the filler neck area so I took that rubber bit (another technical term!) behind the fuel flap out and set to work with Super Degreaser and All Purpose Cleaner. They did the job nicely! I tend to clean the wheel arches every time I wash the car (easy with standard suspension...) but I think I've managed to get them a bit more sparkly now :D I like doing small jobs like this on my C – I find it very satisfying getting rid of 14 years worth of dirt. Not sure what is next on the list, maybe some engine bay cleaning or perhaps the underside of the bonnet. 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfresized filler neck cleaning 26-07-09 017.jpg[/attachment:17emo35t] resized filler neck cleaning 26-07-09 009.jpg[/attachment:17emo35t] Thanks to Jim, I also have some half tint rear lights on the car now. I will post some pics soon, I'm very pleased with them :D
  12. having said to horney on saturday that I haven't seen any Cs in Basingstoke for aaaaages, I saw 2 on sunday within 2 mins of each other and on the same stretch on road :D 1st was blue heading up ring road away from M3 and second looked black and heading towards M3, both by Oakridge turn off. Around 3pm I think. Anyone on here? Didn't see either for long, not even sure if I got a wave...
  13. I'm ok thanks. I'm finding I'm missing the motor trade though :? Good luck getting your car sorted, the hassle is such a pita but hopefully you'll be able to get the extra bits done too. It'll be worth it in the end - I always thought your C looked tidy, it will be even more so soon :)
  14. sorry to see that Roger :( Glad to hear she left her details though - I'm still furious about the parking damage done to mine a fair while ago and no note left. You still at Porsche?
  15. anyone else reckon hers is the one on the left?!
  16. just had a nose around your website and it looks great. Best of luck to you 8)
  17. 40.3 after following lorries at 56mph on a motorway. I was driving home from a training course and didn't want to go back to work....
  18. Me too - plays havoc with your MPG as well because you just wanna play all the time :D sooooo true! never mind though - we wouldn't be driving Corrados if we only cared about low cost motoring....
  19. I also run mine without the cold air feed... it sounds fantastic 8)
  20. Beautiful :notworthy:
  21. was out cleaning my C last night for the CCGB Nat Day today and a guy came over and said 'they're really nice cars, I've always wanted a....' and was expecting Scirocco/Calibra/Cordoba/Corolla (see 'what has your C been mistaken for' thread  ) but he got it right! We ended up chatting about rados for about 20 mins and he said he was even more determined to buy one now. It's great when people come over and just say 'hi, what a nice car you have'. Made my day 8)
  22. they're looking good Martin 8) I especially like the first set
