  1. mine does similar. i get squeaks from bushes n the odd rattle when over rough ground. i think its basically that the weakest part is now found. i have coilovers n new top mounts n 17" wheels. i think the bushes n ball joints need replacing on mine which is probly the same for you. rattly clanks are usually bushings of some sort ive found
  2. try it lift the spoiler n drive about at low speeds. see what happens? disconect and do 70 n see how it feels there is a noticable difference. think VW say upto 60% extra downforce.
  3. will do. fixing or trying on the sunroof too. will get some photos of that..n the frontmount IC. sure there must be a hole for it on your bulkhead. its behind the inlet runner 3rd from throttle body
  4. here we are again... anyone done a clutch master cylinder on a G60 before? was wondering how difficult it is as far as inlet goes. its pretty tight down there and am hoping it can be removed without taking it off. obviously the bently is for a left hooker n the vortex is of the opinion that it aint the nicest job in the world. gotta do it soon. been puttin it off for a while but clutch is now only 50% so... anyone done it before cheers
  5. SKY-vw scirocco AAV- air auxillary valve ISV- Idle stabilization valve cannot be arsed typing the full names.
  6. vacum leak? I had a problem like this on my sky. the air auxillary valve on the back of the inlet manifold has a pipe going to it on the sky. it was split. at certain points it would fall v low on idle or stall when throttle closed. AAV was sticking slightly too. give it a clean. not too sure if yours runs the same or not. think it runs a ISV(16v experts) if it does it should have a switch on the throttle body that tells it when its at idle. check that.
  7. when i press the swithc it revs up to about 1800rpm as if it isn't at idle. iv had it where the engine mount came loose at front n bent the holding plate for the swithch on the TB. this gave differing tickover until repaired. also when doing some work around there had a little cr*p stick on it which made it stick for a brief second after lift off
  8. mine will open tilt but only close on one side. the metal has broke where it attasches to the cable so it will push but not pull. gonna try n repair it.
  9. the technics kit is for xr4 too. same engine on later capri/sheddairra. im 25 by the way. 26 in a week or so. if you think the insurance gets cheaper ,it dont

    Bad understeer

    on falken 451s on 17s mine was v good on turn in and general grip. on 15s with "poorer" tyres i get understeer.
  11. Im lead infrastructure technician for a major domestic appliance firm (russell hobbs, george foreman, carmen etc) nt4 mcse still updating. work just outside manchester city centre.
  12. mine does it up to 4th n its standard still. All i thought about it was that the blow off back thru the charger and out of the filter would obstruct incoming air. whether or not i dont know ..just a thought
  13. can u really spray 10k boost into the charger. I remember seeing it in a mag bout 2yrs ago where they fitteed a piper x filter ans 10k boosted a rallye. they said they put it into the charger? Would this not degenerate the oils n grease thats in there? sure that cr*p must be holding seals tight n that too.
  14. i have a toad too. think its the same one. got four buttons on the remote two green two black a big set n a small. miden doesn't lock the doors either. not sure on full closure either. my dad has the two button version on his mx5 n that does the locking thing. find it kind of annoying myself
  15. baffled sump probly a good idea. bought one at some point for the sky from autocavan for bout 50 squid not sure where it went though. anyone know where you can get um now for the cheap money
  16. is it gonna run dual pass or r u making some G60 u-bends too. whats the OD on std boost hoses. is it 2.25" got a front mount with slightly smaller ends u c so was wondering what sort of costs involved in making the end tanks
  17. lead/coil/plug breakdown fuel filter/pump/pressure accumulator weak/blocked warm up regulator/cold start injector. not a big k-jet expert on the 16v but these are where id look

    not sure if the r32 is a new block. I was told that the 2.9 was already an overbore and so the tolerence was already taken. once a 2.9 is on its way out you cant rebore like a 2.8. could be wrong. expect the main differences are piston size/ring quality, CC, intake manifold design over older VR, Throttle body size?, mapping. Was always told that the weakest link in the vR is its inability to get enough air hence the turbo/Supercharge instant power increase by lots. expect that VW have put lots into getting the engine to breath better. strap on a charger thats what i say

    jabba did mine to stg 4 bout 2 years ago now. done 30k+ on it with no probs. total is now 111k n still it seems ok. there are a few new companies on the scene. jabba are tried and tested, the others it remains to be seen. reports so far seem good so... gotta give people a go as jabba had to start somewhere. Think next time ill try a different company to jabba. they seem to have got off the G60 bandwagon somewhat Darren, dubcharged-im still on std pulley. would you do a rebuild before more boost bearing in mind 30k/2yrs since last one
  20. the fit aint good. depending on where you mount the bracket on the cooler to TB you cannot select gears properly. I think that is due to the positioning of the hose and so the IC pipe is in the wrong place. the charger to IC pipe fits but its tight. the bracket is in the right place for the fan(where it bolts to) but the std screw isn't long enough. G60ing- ours are the same. the hose for the intake you need is the rallye/golf early C hose. the later one is shorter with faily equal lengths and a 70ish degree bend. the early ones are longer and more curly. if that makes sense. Will try n post a pic if i can. it will help sho the fit. depends if my dad has the digicam. he's in benidorm at the moment n i aint got one of my own
  21. What year is your corrado? i got a set. mines a 92. they dont fit later hose types where the last hose before the inlet is shorter. i fitted the charger to intercooler one butn even that isn't right for mine.

    id say fuel too. my mate has a link ECU n 550cc injectors in his impreza. when its been run he has ti give it a tiny little bit of throttle to start it as the injectors flood it out. Id hbave a look at the warmm up regulator. not tyo up on later k-jet so... do they have blue coolant sensor?
  23. requires a tooll to wind the piston on the rear caliper back ion. my cross member is a tad rusty in places too. Think its where the battery has bust or the rad. Check your battery tray. mine was fine when i got the car but the acid damage was already set in. Gonna replace it when the weather is better.
