  1. could you tell me where I would find this circlip? Is it an easy to do job on the ground, or does iit need to be up on a ramp?
  2. Nope. Like I say, if I push the gearlever far enough to the left, like right against the stop, it will slide into 1st nice and easily
  3. Been owning and driving Dubs since passing my test 15 years ago, but all have been rod change gearboxes. Anyway, we recently picked up our VR6, and find it difficult to engage 1st. It seems to be an adjustment issue, because if you push the gearlever hard to the left, it goes in easily. Should I be looking at a new cable, or adjustment? I did a search last night, but couldn't find anything.
  4. If you lower it, the steering seems to get heavier. My missus has had a clipper for 7 years, and got used to it. handling is very good for a cab, better than you would expect. Sportline or rivage are the ones to go for, but command premium. I think people are now holding on to nice ones expecting prices to rise, so check out normal GTI's. I've got a nice carbed one for sale
  5. I Agree, be careful. New seller selling a £300 product as a first sale, before buying anything sounds a bit dodgy. Is that a pic of the actual item, or one thats been pulled from the net. If you are gonna pay, take advantage of Paypal's buyer protection. Or get someone you know to collect it. As a bluff, tell the seller that you are sending a cheque, and get an address, and then pay using PP. Also if you can, get a phone no, and have a chat.
  6. I think if you have the keypad, it was something like(from poor memory) arm disarm the alarm, * hash 00 hash n * press 1st key fob, then next etc or * hash 0000 hash n* n=no of keyfobs If you dont have a keypad, you'll need a programmer unit.
  7. Hey all Not new to the VW scene. I've had polo's since 1991, and currently drive a modded G40(J9 OLO green euro look on RSL 8's for those interested), and my partner is on her 2nd Clipper(approaching 150k). Anyway a few weeks ago we decided we really wanted a Corrado. After looking at insurance quotes and consumption, we have decided on a VR6. After much trailing, we have decided to look at a few. One is a mint storm with a few choice mods which we would do any way, sounds mint but has 120k. Its had an engine rebuild at 70k though including pistons and block.also had chains and tenstioners then. I guess the question is what potential problems am I looking at, and what is the likelyhood of reselling the car in 3 years time and 150k? Should I look at a lower mileage car. Bearing in mind that by the time I add coilies, induction kit and wheels, and sorted the paint it will probably cost me more than the storm mentioned above. A 90 k one will fetch a premium, but will have 120k when I resell. Or should I just get a mint standard storm with lower mileage like the one Sane has for sale. Also anyone know the modded storm. I think the reg is M999DAS, and its been mag featured on BBS rims etc? Also if anyone is hiding a nice VR let me know!!
