  1. Not a drop on Newbury either.
  2. I just got new discs & pads for the front of my G60 from German & Swedish. The discs were brembo oe's and were £27 each I think and I got pagid pads to go with them. Certainly made a huge difference to the stopping power & feel but that was probably cos the old pads were really knackered & the disc's were warped.
  3. I would prefer a Milltek but as that does appear to have died then I'm definitely up for this. The money is ready and waiting & I would need on for a G60. Regards Jim
  4. IMHO not at all, this is a forum not a club and I think provides a different service & a different flavour on owning a C. ;) On a different topic, the lighting loom I got from Trimsport at E38 works a treat. I can now see where I'm going at night :)
  5. Mark, I'm not that miffed really about the price I paid as its worth to me what I paid for it in my opinion. It just woud have been nice to have got it for what the previous owner paid for it. ;) Got the lighting loom fitted have to wait till dark to see if theres an improvement. I also forgot to mention that while buying the cat bypass pipe from Motex I was talking to the owner and he told me about trying to negotiate a 10 or 15% discount for CCGB members. So I said what about Corrado Forum members, his reply was "who"? So I told him about the site and the number of members we have and gave him the site address, he seemed quite up for it. So Mods it might be an idea to contact him, pm me if you need his details. Regards Jim
  6. Yep a dying cat makes a noticable rattle at low revs & idle. As it get worse the remanents of your cat make a really nice ball shape that eventually shoots straight up your exhaust and blocks it. Try the jubilee clip trick first. If that dont cure it start worrying. :) Regards Jim
  7. Well I went today and the turn out wasn't great, apparently everybobies go'in tomorrow. But it was good meeting mark16V, hello mate! And some of the guys from CCGB, my cheque is in the post guys :). I also met one of the previous owners of my car :) and found out how much he sold it to the guy I bought it off!! :( I also came away with a cat bypass pipe & and an uprated lighting loom, plus got to see my godparents as they live 4 miles from Billing Aquadrome. All in all a good day, shame I cant make it 2morrow. Regards Jim. ps I'll post piccies tomorrow.
  8. Mate that is one sweet C! :) Regards Jim
  9. Excellent will do, cos I want to discuss some more G60 power with you! :) Thanx Jim
  10. Cool hope to see some of you there then. Mines a Black J Reg G60 with 17" EB alloys. Regards Jim
  11. Ok somebody please explain to a thick bugger like me who doesn't go to shows. Is this open to the general public as I'd like to go as Billing Aquadrome is only an hour from me & I know the area well as I grew up about 4 miles away from it. + my car has previously belonged to 2 CCGB members so somebody might recognise it which would be cool. ++ I'd like to meet some of you guys :) Regards Jim
  12. No 'fraid not, but I'm not a million miles away from there ;)
  13. Also came with all bills since new, full dealer history till 77,000 then local VW specialists including AmD. Over £ 10K in bills & receipts the gearbox has been Slick 50 treated so it's definitely slack cables in the gearchange. She seams pretty mint to me for the money I paid.
  14. Ok last 2 previous owners were ccgb members, its totally standard apart from the rims, g-max lowering springs & dampers and a rebuilt stage 4 charger by Jabba Sport & Green induction kit. All bushes, belts and ancillaries have been replaced recently with bills to prove. Mileage is 112,000, handling and ride wise it feels very tight & good and smooth power delivery is awesome compared to my 16v. Only problems are a very loose gearchange and what seem like warped front discs (suggestions please). I'll be swapping out the interior from my 16v as its in better nic and the colour is the same (grey). Dont think I'll be doing any other mods apart from putting my eibachs & Koni dampers on a some point in the near future when I've decided which is best. Regards Jim
  15. I did something very stoopid (not) today & bought this little cute thing. My 2L 16v is nearly dead awaiting resurection and I was gonna try & find a decent Golf VR6 but the I saw the G60 and thought what the hell.
  16. The handling problem sounds like perished bushes in the rear sub-frame to me. Perhaps somebody with more experience than me could confirm or deny this. Regards Jim
  17. Mine make the exact same noise but all I had done was eibach springs & koni shocks fitted. Still dont know whats causing the noise :( Jim
  18. I've got eibach springs which are progressive & koni adjustable shocks fitted by Amd. The ride is not too harsh but I think it could do with softening the shocks just a bit more. Regards Jim
  19. I have exactly the same problem with my 2lt 16v, I cleaned the ISV & that has help a bit but the problem is still there. Dont know what to do now. Regards Jim
  20. Cewl :) As long as its not doing any harm I shan't worry about it. Cheers Jim
  21. Duncan, Thanks for the reply, I'll be working on the car this weekend so I'll see if any of the tips given here solve my problems. I'll keep you all updated. Anybody have any ideas about the exhaust popping on overrun or should I not be worried about it. Cheers Jim
  22. Jim, The clanging niose is definitely not the heat shield as thats long gone as has the contents of the cat!. Which leads me to another question when revved hard on the road there is a pop from the exhaust when changing gear .i.e. on overun is this normal? Its has a power flow exhaust Unfortunately Cov's to far from Newbury for me, surely there must be descent place close to Berkshire apart from Amd. Finally it already has a heavy duty battery but Ill check the boot light soon. Cheers Jim P.S thanx for the piccies they're very helpful.
  23. This is a seriously good thread, i read it earlier and did it this evening its cured my idling problems too. Maybe it should be made a sticky perhaps? Cheers Jim
