Corrado 1.8 16v; 37,000 miles. Whats it worth????
Jonesmark12 replied to TROOPER88's topic in General Car Chat
i was going to buy this on ebay - but not to sell on straight away... -
thats exactly where i'm talking about, i'm fine with it poping out a bit from under there - so not having the plastic slats anymore - but i need to have a play around with mock up cerial boxes me thinks to see what can fit in there! going to be more that 1' deep!

Righty, I bought Gareths Rs2 set up a few weeks ago, and planning to get all the parts and then do the job in one big go over the winter - can i ask, has anyone tried mounting their IC running along the lower bumper grill outlets? i'm in the process of looking at units which can fit that gap - it seems there are some turbo'd vtec ic's going around which are long and thin which were designed for the civic. Basically i dont really want to alter the bumper with holes, so instead of having part of the ic covered up, i planned on having a long thin one exposed to the max. along the bottom. also does anyone have any knowledge over turbo'd g60 ecu's? otherwise i'm going over to emerald! :? I've got a g60 ecu which is said to be set up for turbo. Is there any methods of hooking it up so that i can see if this is correct?! i dont want to have to wire it all up to then find its wrong.

or you could stop smoking in the car!! too old manish for me - check the members gallery here or on edition - someone has just got themselves a C and just taken them of iirc.

its pretty much impossible to give an accurate price online without inspecting the car, But to do it without pics?!?!!?! Put some up though - as she sounds nice ! I was thinking of getting rid of mine, but they dont seem to be going for too much money - kr's that is. Partly wish the prices of them went back up again, but Devient (Jon) said some words of wisdom - Just enjoy the car! so i am - and hopefully wacking a turbo it her!! Back to your thread though - put some pics up and people can help - no doubt
-
I'll post up both pages of reports tomorrow once i get the car back - some of them will really make you chuckle!! naturally i have a lot of work to do tomorrow! And to think, the only thing i thought i'd have a problem with was the number plates and my smoothed off side repeaters!!
-
Ummmmmmm?!?!?! Wow! http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/259846.htm i like how he says its been in his 'Collection' judging by the last pic - the rado is the wrong colour for him!! "Over £40,000 spent on the car - with a little TLC could easily be concourse standard." - at 40 grands worth of spending i'd hope it to take over the world let alone be to concourse standard!!
-
why the hell would the steering wheel be in his engine bay?!
-
Hopefully mine will come out of the shop and look vaguely like this! I photoshop'd loadsa front bumper configurations. and i so nearly went totally smooth on the front, but not sure if it totally works on a light colour... Quick Q. Door handles - leave plastic - or colour code?
-
far too scene!! You have text

i'm not just saying this because my old car was from belgium - but go B plates! the red and white looks awesome, and whilst it was legal me driving the cabby on her for all that time, i never got pulled over. I think if the plates look part GB part D then there is a problem, as police can identify that somethings up. If you run full Belgian, then they'll probably be oblivious to it. Although i have the 'get out of jail free card' being a full Belgian Drivers Lisence!! Greeny - Belgo plates would look great on yours bro!
-
Rude not to follow greeny by saying 'Do-It!' and also i have to put a pic after him just for our number plates!

Toady, you may be right fella. The gap between the bonnet and wing is too large at the moment. although on the passenger side the early wing and late bonnet fit perfect. As Jon says, it matches the door fine until your eyes draw to the bottom quarter - then its off. Starting to wonder if the wing is the correct piece. - i know that the arches are wider on late wings - but is it dramatically wider. just may get some people to look at it in a mo, and see if its just a bit of eye trickry
-
Quick question for pep's in the know - my drivers side wing doesnt seem to fit flush against the bonnet and the drivers door. Where the door trim would go it is raised by aprox 20mm. The car is a early model - off the top of peoples heads, would that 20mm gap probably be caused by a late/VR wing being put on? If so, has anyone got an early wing for sale, close to Herts, N London. which i can pick up asap?! Cheers Guys

I would lower mine more, but my center box is comical!! it sits along the same proportions to a steam roller!! Its a scorpion system, should check if anyone else has the same problem! I think i know which one i'd prefer!! :D its a great garage - if i working on a saturday i normally treat myself to a couple of seats!! Quite partial to the tango orange 911! Got the nugget seen to by the sprayer - if i want i can have it done before ed38 - the guys jaw dropped when i gave him the list of smoothing and blending etc! need to be on the look out now for decent window rubbers! front and sides, plus a new sunroof seal might not go amiss!!
-
oddly enough i kept thinking that a while back, but i havent thought about it for a while. I'll have to have them removed for the paint anyways, so if it does look odd, its easy to put back on.

urm, thanks!! where you on foot by the traffic lights? its sporting the old wheels at the mo.. as you can tell! Where do you work? i'm at the end of the buisness park - International greetings. Andy, wheels should defo be on!! although jon has teased me with an idea of metalic brown on the Sebrings - which i happen to think sounds awesome!! Door strips are just stuck on, with the heat we have at the moment, they should come off easily - just do it SLOW! then i'd personally do a 3 stage around the removed areas of body. BTW - I Will relocate the number plate me thinks. i love the partly smoothed bumper!
-
The special wheels might be going back on! - getting the engineers report, but wheel seem to be 100% fine now. should be rebuilt within the week. although i really want 9"s on the back now!! Car is getting quoted for body work this afternoon. the sprayer is really keen on starting next week, which is great, but as Jon knows, i'm moving, so money will be tight! see if he can hold on to my kidney until next month as a down payment?! Planning on removal of door stips, smooth the tow eye. sort out the dodgey colour door and manky front bumper!! quick vote on what i should do with the front bumper. keeping the fogs and indicators where they are. do i fill the number plate recess or keep it? I like both! Engine wise i have a plan, and it looks very simular to yours Steve! - fun for the winter i guess!!
-
HeHe! cheers Andy! i'm in the process of sorting out the body bits. a private sprayer is having a tinker this weekend. As for the wheels, i have no idea when they'll be done ! before ed38 hopefully, cos with the sun out the car looks fab with the oz's! plus it keeps prying eyes off the body work! - Got to keep up with your standards afteral!! Theres a chap on ebay selling a Lambo yellow 1.8 valver. was thinking of that colour myself at first, but the Nugget is too rare. think its going for sensible money too.

My Pearl Ghey 16v Gone :( - Introducing "Annie"
Jonesmark12 replied to vwdeviant's topic in Members Gallery
hehe! if you need a hand - give me a shout! - i hate jump leads - melted gems old clio battery a few years back - to this day i still dont know how! -
Right, the main thing is... the wheels are on!! but what a mad weekend!! Put the wheels on, on Friday before going Dubs in Pub. My jack snapped in half whilst removing the first wheel, not good... Borrowed a jack and successfully got all four wheels on! Looked great - got onto A1 for 6.15. 7pm - rear end goes madly out of control and pushes me towards the central reservation - not good.... pulled over to hard shoulder, drivers rear had a blowout. realised i dont have a jack for the first time in my life, and the first time i've ever needed to change a wheel! - not good.... AA return (after 1 hour or so) I'm told to get out the spare wheel whilst he's jacking the car, pass it over to him, only to find its a 5 stud spare on a 4 stud hub - bloody useless!!! I had no choice but to wait for the lowest flat bed trailer before taking me home! THERE'S MORE! Saturday morning i worked like mad finding the same tyre, The online tyre company i went through sent them to a local garage by my office to fit. They ended up giving me wheels with loose valves and badly - badly balanced tyres. Went to R-tec - who i now think are great - had the Kuhmo, and were able to sort all wheels valves and balancing. Online company are now in the process of apologizing to me and paying out. I dont want to go too indepth, because i'm not stressed about it anymore! most important thing is, the car now rides great and i love the look of my new wheels! show was quiet but for a first attempt still good fun - God i want a beach buggy! I'll let the pics do the rest of the talking. Comments as always!
-
How often do you scrape the splitter? mines cracked already - about to get some coilies and i know i'm going to be in a whole world of dilemas after! :multi: Nice purchase though - love the side exit too! - coming to think of it - doesnt that catch too?!?! :shocked!:
-
Steve i'm up for that - used to have my cabby on the mk1 owners stand - so need a new stand to sit at!! Tell me how - and i'll be there! do i need to be a paid member or just normal? It is the same rado from e38 classifieds! :silly: also - yes the wheels are black - but the final piccy does show what are to come! May try and get them fitted before the end of the week!
